Hawaiian symbols Recap !

•Hawaii has been an American State since 1959…

•…but for 175 years, the Hawaiian flag has shown the Union Jack on it. It has stayed that way since its adoption.

•On the State Seal, a Hawaiian figure (Kamehameha I) and an American symbol (Liberty) were chosen in 1845 to represent the Union between the islands and the rest of the USA.

•For many years, Hawaii has been famous for its ‘Aloha Spirit’, which suggests the people of Hawaii are united and welcoming.
