¾ In the context of Heisenberg-Euler theory, we find a shift in frequency (blue or red) depending on the polarisation, asexpected because HE theory predicts birefringence.
¾ The entity of the shift increases with the intensity of the external field; it is stronger at the equator than at the poles. Itsintensity is just 1 or 2 orders of magnitude below the gravitational shift of an average sized magnetar.
¾ In the second work, we study the photon propagation in the context of Extended Standard Models with LorentzSymmetry Violation and Supersymmetry (SUSY) Breaking. study the dispersion relations arising because of the non-linear interactions between the photon and the fermionic condensate backgrounds.
¾ We show that for the odd sector is possible to make a massive term appear in the Lagrangian and that the role of themass is played by the background vector vμ .The estimated value of such a background vector is 10-17 Gev, whichmeans an upper limit to the photon mass of 10-62 kg.
