L’idée d’une « foire aux antiquaires » fit son apparition dans les années 50. C’était exactement en 1956, sous l’égide du nouveau Président du Syndicat National des Antiquaires, Pierre Vandermeersch.Son rêve et celui de ses confrères? Créer une manifestation où la beauté des objets rivaliserait avec celle des femmes qui visiteraient l’exposition, où l’élégance, le prestige et la fête s’offriraient à une foule d’amateurs d’art et de collectionneurs.

André Malraux ouvrit les portes du Grand Palais, monument parisien mythique crée pour l’Exposition Universelle de 1900. Et c’est en 1962 qu’eut lieu, dans sa forme actuelle, la première Biennale Internationale des Antiquaires, concentration des plus grands antiquaires, des plus grands décorateurs, des plus grands joailliers, des plus grands libraires aussi bien français qu’étrangers, dans un décor féerique constitué de pavillons, jardins et fontaines.

Des personnalités telles qu’André Crivelli, Jean‐Raphaël Millies‐Lacroix, Pier‐Luigi Pizzi, Jean‐Michel Wilmotte ou Christian Lacroix apportèrent leur talent à la réalisation de cette manifestation que le "Tout Paris" des grands collectionneurs et l’élite internationale se pressent de visiter.

The idea of an “antique dealer fair” first appeared in the 1950s and more precisely in 1956 under the aegis of the new chairman of the SNA (National Union of Antiques Dealers), Pierre Vandermeersch. The dream was to create an event where the beauty of the objects on show could compete with that of the women who come visit the exhibition, a venue where elegance, prestige and celebration would await a host of art lovers and collectors.

It was André Malraux who opened the path to the Grand Palais, a legendary Parisian landmark built for the Universal Exhibition of 1900. The first International Biennale, in its present form, was held in 1962. It was a focal gathering of the greatest French and foreign antique dealers, decorators, jewellers and book store owners under the famous glass roof in a magic setting made up of pavilions, gardens and fountains.

Celebrities such as André Crivelli, Jean‐Raphaël Millies‐Lacroix, Pier‐Luigi Pizzi, Jean‐Michel Wilmotte and Christian Lacroix brought their talent to the show, over the years, an event that the greatest collectors from the Paris Jet‐Set and the international elite flocked to see.

「古董商展览会」这个概念首先於1950年代萌生，直到

1956年，在当时古董商工会新任主席Pierre Vandermeersch的主导下，才趋於明确。当初的梦想是要打造一场完美的盛会，其中展览品的绝美与赴此盛会的仕女相较之下毫不逊色！那是一场集结了高雅、尊贵、欢庆的美好时空，期待艺术爱好者与收藏家的光临共享。

而选定大皇宫这个因1900年首届万国博览会而兴建的巴黎传奇地标建筑做为展览场地则要归功於André Malraux的发想与促成，1962年，首届古董商双年展正式於大皇宫举办，在其著名的玻璃拱顶下，全法国及世界首趋一指的古董商、珠宝商、书商在亭台楼阁花园流水的围绕中，共聚一堂，参与见证此伟大盛事。

各界名流如André Crivelli，Jean‐Raphaël Millies‐Lacroix，Pier‐Luigi Pizzi，Jean‐Michel Wilmotte或是Christian Lacroix更以他们各自的才华为此双年展增色，历经多年，双年展早已是巴黎富豪收藏家与全世界精英群聚的最重要活动。

艺术爱好者的热情与对於全世界杰出古董商、装饰专家、珠宝商及书商的莫大吸引力，古董商双年展每届展览莫不成为新闻媒体的宠儿。

Идея «Ярмарки антикваров» родилась в 50е годы 20го века, а именно, в 1956 году, под эгидой нового Председателя Национального синдиката антикваров, Pierre Vandermeersch.О чем же мечтал он и его соратники? О том, чтобы создать выставку, на которой красота предметов искусства соперничала бы с красотой женщин, посетивших выставку, где элегантность, престиж и праздничное настроение воодушевляли бы толпу любителей искусства и коллекционеров.

Андре Мальро открыл двери Большого Дворца, легендарного парижского здания, построенного по случаю Всемирной выставки в 1900 г. А Международная Бьеннале антикваров, известная нам сегодня, впервые состоялась в 1962 году. Это – место встречи самых известных антикваров, декораторов, ювелиров, букинистов, как французских, так и зарубежных, в феерическом оформлении, состоящем из павильонов, садов и фонтанов.

Такие таланты, как André Crivelli, Jean‐Raphaël Millies‐Lacroix, Pier‐Luigi Pizzi, Jean‐Michel Wilmotte или Christian Lacroix внесли свой вклад в оформление этой выставки, посетить которую спешат знаменитые коллекционеры со«всего Парижа» и международная элита.

Место игры страстей агентов по продаже, встречи самых известных антикваров, декораторов, ювелиров, букинистов, как французских, так и зарубежных, Бьеннале антикваров не перестает вновь и вновь удивлять публику.
