5. InstallationPreparatory WorkDeliver products in manufacturer’s original, unopened, undamaged containers with identification labels intact. All Sani-Floor units are shipped from the factory with ¾" plywood inserts included. The inserts should be left in place until after installation and the concrete pour is complete. Failure to do so may cause sides of the unit to distort inwards and result in the grates not fitting properly. Additionally, the inserts will help protect the troughs during the remainder of the construction process, prior to final installation of the non-slip grates.Store materials protected from exposure to harmful environmental conditions, frost-free and at temperature and humidity levels recommended by the manufacturer. Remove any damaged or deteriorated material from the job site.

MethodsRefer to the Sani-Floor Design, Installation and Operation manuals for installation requirements and procedures.

DisposalEmpty packaging and dispose of excess material in accordance with federal, state and local waste disposal regulations.

PrecautionsDo not install stainless steel floor units as part of an integral pour of the surrounding floor areas. For complete safety information, contact Sani-Floor, Inc.

6. Availability and CostSani-Floor products are available throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. For pricing and availability in specific areas, contact [email protected] or visit www.sanifloor.com.

8. Maintenance TroughTo remove light grease buildup, occasionally hand spray a commercial degreaser before refitting the grates. Allow the degreaser to sit. For Self-Washing models, cycle the system; for Clog-Free and Standard models, hose the system. If additional degreasing is needed on a continual basis, chemicals can be injected into the supply line of Self-Washing models. Contact Sani-Floor for further recommendations.Do not use chlorine-based cleaners on the troughs, as they can damage the stainless steel.

Strainer TrayFor proper performance, clean the system strainer trays once per shift. Depending on the system location in the facility, this interval may be adjusted. The unit is designed to allow water to pass through the collected refuse, but it must still be monitored.Important: Do not clean the strainer trays by striking the tray against the trash container. Any remaining residue should be rinsed or brushed off.

Anti-Fatigue GratingA slight flexing of the standard grates is intentional to provide an anti-fatigue working platform. If the amount of flexing increases to an unacceptable level, contact Sani-Floor to purchase replacement grates.Heavy-duty non-flexible grates are available from Sani-Floor for installations with higher load applications. Contact Sani-Floor for details and specifications.

If there is a need to place heavy objects in the Sani-Floor areas during equipment servicing, remodeling, etc., 3/4" (19 mm) sheets of plywood are recommended to replace the grates.Ideally, fiberglass grates should be run through the facility’s ware washer at the end of the day. If a ware washer is not available, grates can be washed in a three compartment sink and then reinstalled. Grates should always be installed with the aluminum oxide anti-slip side up.Lack of proper cleaning of the grates per the above recommendations may lead to the growth of mold and mildew. If mold or mildew develops, deck brushing with a cleaner and degreaser is advised. Rinse grates well before reinstallation.Do not use chlorine based products to clean the grates still in place on the Sani-Floor units, as the chemicals may damage the stainless steel. The non-slip grates should not be mopped, as the abrasive surface will tear strings from the mops.Over a period of years, the grates may become damaged to the point of needing replacement. It is also possible that, through normal use, the designed deflection in the grate may require replacement. Contact Sani-Floor for replacement parts.
