    ADEPTICON 2010 WFB CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES

    Welcome to the AdeptiCon Warhammer Fantasy Championship. A few things to keep in mind:

    Be sure to set your army out for display before and after each round. You put a ton of effort into your army, and it is time toshow it off!

    Please note the order of the sheets in your packet. The Scoring Sheet for Game One is on Page 12 (the last page). Afterfilling out each games scoring sheet, please turn it into the scoring judge.

    Be sure to keep notes needed to fill out the Best of Tournament Scoring on Page 8. Questions on Scenarios or Rules should be referred to a Tournament Judge. We will do our best to make this a fun and enjoyable tournament. Table Assignments and Top Scoring lists will be available

    as soon as possible.

    Be aware of the Time Restrictions and keep an eye on the Countdown timers. We are striving to have you complete yourgames.

    WARHAMMER FANTASY CHAMPIONSHIPS TABLE SETUP

    TERRAIN

    One Hill on the Midline, centered in a deployment zone, the other hill angled 16 from the edge partially in the deploymentzone.

    Each Tree 8 in from the edge and more than 3 into the deployment zone. House or ruin, centered 16 on the centerline. Fence or Other, centered 16 on the centerline. Woods, Hills, Forests and Houses are all Large Target Sized.

    WARHAMMER FANTASY CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES RECAP

    OVERVIEW

    Special Characters/Named Characters are not allowed, except by prior judge approval before February 1st, 2010. A WPSAdjustment number will be forwarded if the army is approved.

    No more than one (1) Regiment of Renown is allowed in a Non-Dogs of War army. Rhinox Riders are only allowed in Ogre Kingdoms and Dogs of War armies. Each player must create a valid 2000 point army. That is the army that must be played for the entire tournament without

    modification.

    Each Player must provide 5 PRINTED (Not handwritten) Army lists, one to each of their opponents with the stats of theirarmy AT THE END of Each Game. The 5th list must be turned into the judges at time of registration at the event. . Model use and conversions. Whenever possible, your models should reflect WYSIWYG. If it is not apparent to anyone

    walking by your table what the model represents in the Warhammer world, you are encouraged to label the movement

    tray. Difficult or confusing model use may result in a penalty to Composition and Sportsmanship.

    Your Models MUST be painted to the 3 color minimum standard. If you cannot meet this requirement, you cannot winanything but Best General.

    There will be 4 Scenarios. The rulings of the current GW 7th Edition Fantasy FAQ will be used. Other Tournament-Specific Rulings are available in the

    Adepticon Fantasy FAQ. This will also be posted here and in the venue for review.

    The Fantasy Championship Tournament will use the Sliding Methodology from The GW FAQ, Pg 6-8 with the followinglimitation; Slide distance is limited by remaining movement.

    If both players would prefer the Clipping methodology, both must initial the Using Clipping line on their opponentsscoring sheet before starting the game.

    Building Assault Rules from BRB Pg. 97 are in effect.SCORING

    Battle (100 Points Total)

    15 Victory Points per round (15 - Victory, 10 - Draw, 5 - Loss) plus up to 5 bonus Battle Points per round, and up to 5 Objective Points

    per Round.

    +301 VP determines a Victory, using the Standard Victory Point values from the BRB Pg 102 unless specified otherwise in the

    scenario.

    Battle Point Bidding

    At the Beginning of the tournament, each player will have an option to bid Victory Points for Best General. A Player may bid from 0

    to 5 VP. The effect is as follows: If a player has bid 5 Battle Points, and wins the game, that victory is worth a base 20 points for Best

    General, rather than 15 VP. If the player gets a Draw, the draw would only be worth 5 VP. If the Player loses, the Loss with be worth

    0 VP. The Bonus applies to Best General Scoring only, the negative applies to all scoring.

    Composition

    25 Points Total.

    Your WPS score, maximized at 25. WPS values will be posted with Table assignments for player verification. You are responsible for

    questioning a WPS score you do not agree with before Game 4.

    Sportsmanship

    Fill out the checklist on your scoring sheet. Be prepared to answer questions on High or Low scores.

    Tourney's Choice

    Between rounds, each player will display their army and will be allowed to vote for their favorite army, and display of the tourney.

    Tourney's Choice votes will be used to award the Tourney's Choice awards.

    SCENARIO 1: THE ACROPOLIS OF MOURN

    *** READ THE ENTIRE SCENARIO BEFORE SETTING UP ***

    OVERVIEWDuring the ages past, empires have fought over the same grounds, be they trade routes, mountain passes or strategic towns. More

    often than not, both sides consider it hallowed ground. Strategy is one motivator, but martial pride is a much greater draw. Can

    you win back the land of your ancestors?

    BATTLEFIELD

    Terrain is Preset. Confirm your tables terrain to the layout

    on page 2 of this packet. Forests, Buildings and Rolling Hills

    are considered large target sized; a large target behind an

    object may not be targeted except by a unit on high ground.

    Building Assault rules are not in effect for this scenario.

    DEPLOYMENT

    Both players roll a die, the player with the highest score maychoose which side to deploy on by placing a unit. The other

    players Deployment Zone is the opposite side. The players

    then take turns deploying one unit at a time until both of

    their entire forces are on the table.

    SPECIAL RULES

    In this scenario, the building on the table represents an

    Acropolis of Heroes, per the BRB Pg101. As a Special feature,

    the Acropolis is considered Impassable Terrain which blocks

    line of sight. The Acropolis allows the unitcontrolling the

    feature (per BRB Pg100) to count as outnumbering its

    enemies.

    WHO GOES FIRST

    Each player rolls a D6. The player who finished placing all his

    units first may add +1 to this die roll. The player with the

    highest result may choose whether to go first or second.

    GAME LENGTH

    Game will last 6 turns or until time is called. Do not start a

    new turn that both you and your opponent cannot finish in

    the time remaining on the Countdown Timer.

    VICTORY CONDITIONS

    Standard Victory Points per BRB Pg. 102 with the following

    additions:

    +100 VP for controlling the Forest on your side of the table.

    Conceding:

    To claim objective points you must have sufficient units with

    sufficient unit strength and movement to control the

    feature(s) within the unplayed turns.

    Battle Point Modifiers:

    +2 The Enemys largest Point Unit (unit cost excluding

    Characters, unless the largest component unit is a character

    and mount) is Dead or fleeing at the end of the game.

    +2 You have a banner in your possession at the end of the

    game. (Friend or Foe)

    +1 You have a unit within 12 of the Acropolis capable of

    controlling it.

    Objective Points:

    +3 You Control the Acropolis.

    +2 Your opponent does not control the Acropolis.

    SCENARIO 2: THE BEFOULED CHAPEL

    *** READ THE ENTIRE SCENARIO BEFORE SETTING UP ***

    OVERVIEWIn Ages past, the enemy has defiled your lands. The atrocities of the past were like bread and butter to you in your youth. As the

    others have said, when it is your turn, things will be different. It is your turn. You will take the befoulment of your ancestral lands

    from the enemy.

    BATTLEFIELD

    Terrain is Preset. Confirm your tables terrain to the layout

    on Page 2 of this packet. Forests, Buildings and Rolling Hills

    are considered large target sized; a large target behind an

    object may not be targeted except by a unit on high ground.

    Building Assault rules are in effect.

    As a Special feature, the Ruins are considered Impassable

    Terrain which blocks line of sight. The Ruins modify the unit

    controlling the feature (per BRB Pg100) in the following way:

    If the unit controlling the Ruins causes fear or terror, units

    engaged or engaging the unit are -1 Leadership in regard to

    Fear/Terror tests.

    If the unit controlling the Ruins does not cause fear or terror,

    the unit is +1 Leadership when taking Fear/Terror tests.

    WHO GOES FIRST

    Each player rolls a D6. The player who finished placing all his

    units first may add +1 to this die roll. The player with the

    highest result may choose whether to go first or second.

    VICTORY CONDITIONS

    Standard Victory Points per BRB Pg. 102 with the following

    additions:

    +100 VP for controlling the Building on the table.

    Conceding:

    To claim objective points you must have sufficient units with

    sufficient unit strength and movement to control the

    feature(s) within the unplayed turns.

    Battle Point Modifiers:

    +2 You have destroyed/currently fleeing all Enemy Core Units.

    +1 Your largest Core Unit (without character costs) is across

    the Centerline at the end of the game.

    +1 The Enemys largest Point Unit (without character costs) is

    Dead or fleeing at the end of the game.

    +1 None of your units have been destroyed.

    Objective Points:

    +3 You Control the Ruins.

    +2 The Enemy Does Not Control the Ruins.

    OVERVIEWIn War, you fight for Pride, for Honor, for Glory. What price for Glory? The Glory of erecting a Monument to your Prowess? The

    Glory of shaping the Fate of your World?

    BATTLEFIELD

    object may not be targeted except by a unit on high ground.

    Building Assault rules are in effect for this scenario.

    In this scenario, the non-Forest, Non-Hill, Non-Building

    feature on the table represents a Monument of Glory, per the

    BRB Pg101. As a Special feature, the Monument is considered

    Impassable Terrain which blocks line of sight. The Monument

    modifies the unitcontrolling the feature (per BRB Pg100) in

    the following way:

    The UnitHates all enemies as long as it controls the

    Monument. Hatreddoes affect units Immune to all

    Psychology.

    WHO GOES FIRST

    Each player rolls a D6. The player who finished placing all his

    units first may add +1 to this die roll. The player with the

    highest result may choose whether to go first or second.

    VICTORY CONDITIONS

    Standard Victory Points per BRB Pg. 102 with the following

    additions:

    +200 VP for keeping the enemy from controlling either

    woods.

    Conceding:

    To claim objective points you must have sufficient units with

    sufficient unit strength and movement to control the

    feature(s) within the unplayed turns.

    Battle Point Modifiers:

    +2 You Control Both your table quarters.

    +1 You Control/Contest at least one Enemy table quarter.

    +1 The Enemys largest Point Character is Dead or fleeing at

    the end of the game.

    +1 None of your units have been destroyed.

    -1 None of your units have Charged an Opponent Unit

    outside of your Deployment Zone.

    Objective Points:

    +3 You Control the Monument.

    +2 Your Enemy does not Control the Monument.

    Landmark, per the BRB Pg101. Although a Special feature, the

    Landmark is NOT considered Impassable Terrain for this

    scenario. It is a Building and the full building assault rules will

    be in effect. The Landmark is worth 100VP if controlled at the

    end of the game.

    WHO GOES FIRST

    Each player rolls a D6. The player who finished placing all his

    units first may add +1 to this die roll. The player with thehighest result may choose whether to go first or second.

    GAME LENGTH

    Game will last 6 turns.

    VICTORY CONDITIONS

    Standard Victory Points per BRB Pg. 102 with the following

    additions:

    +100 VP (Additional) for slaying the Enemy General.(Not

    Fleeing at the end of Game)

    If you concede, your opponent gets full Battle Points.Objective points must be able to be retrieved to count in a

    concession.

    Battle Point Modifiers:

    +2 All of your Characters have survived.

    +2 Your General is across the Centerline at the end of the

    game.

    +1 The Enemys largest Point Unit is Dead or fleeing at the

    end of the game.

    Objective Points:+3 You Occupy the Historic Landmark.

    +2 You Control the Historic Landmark.
