He also thanked them for taking time out to attend the meeting. Area Chairman Tr. Kavalpreet thanked Chairman Tr. Satish and the tablers of MCRT 162 for organising this meeting. For the first time we are having an area board meeting jointly with an intertable event to ensure better participation.

Tr Varinder conducted an HR program on Public Speaking on 4th Feb. Chairman Tr. Sohail proposed that the Best Secretary at Area level be named after Founder Area 2 Chairman Sq. Leg Kishore Sahani. The same was passed unanimously.

World 30 Meet:

World 30 Meet began with a Pre tour to Goa from 16th Feb 2011. The main event was scheduled

between 20th & 21st Feb. 36 International Guests participated. World 30 meet is a result of 5

years of planning and execution. Sq Leg Rajiv Sampat was elected as World 30 President.

Fellowship:

“Turtle Walk Fellowship” was organised on 12th Feb 2011. 34 heads participated.

“Indian Idol” fellowship at Lady Andal School on 6th Feb 2011.

Cricket World Cup fellowship at Tr Tarun’s residence on 27th Feb. 16 heads gathered to watch

India - England match.

Community Service:

Donated 5 Limbs and 2 Calipers to Mukti Foundation on 21st January 2011.

Participated at the Vivekananda Vidyalaya’s annual day celebrations.

Lapd:

“Vanaprastha” - an LAPD initiative by Team 30 with Grandparents and Twinklers as the focus.


MSRT 39 - Chairman LMF Tr Ajay JalanFellowship:

“Rock N Roll Fellowship” was organised on 2nd Jan 2011 hosted by Tr Mahesh.

“Colours of Punjab” fellowship on 6th Feb hosted by Tr Kaushal.

“Mexican Night” fellowship on 26th Feb hosted by Tr Rajesh and Cr Roopam Guptha at Chola Sheraton.

Organized and hosted the India - Pakistan semifinal Cricket World Cup match at Deccan

Plaza on 30th March.

Community Service:

In association with the Tamil Nadu Police, MSRT 39 launched a community college in the name of “Gandhi Community College” inside the premises of the Central Jail on 29th Jan. The National President Tr Vishnu, Area Chairman Tr Kavalpreet participated. The function was presided by Shri Duraiswamy - DIG of Police. A cheque for Rs.1,20,000/- was handed over to

the Police Authorities.

MSRT 39 sponsored painting kits and certificates for 100 + kids at Kolkatta on 21st Jan

towards TZP.

Extension:

Prospect Dhanshali Parek was inducted into the membership of RT 39.

Inter Table:

Participated in Top Gun in good numbers, runners up in the Volley ball match. Tr Inder won

the Arm Wrestling in the under 80 Kg category. Participated in Area 2 Idol in good numbers.

MMRT 42 - Chairman Tr PrasannaFellowship:

RT 42 had a joint fellowship with 41ers Club Tangerine 111 at Sq Leg Amar’s farm house on

21st January. 10 Tablers participated at the MTM. Good attendance at the Cricket match with

MCRT 94.


PRT 70 - Chairman LMF Tr Devanathan

Fellowship:

The Chairman Tr.Deva organized a trip to KL & Langkawi for seven days. Trs Deva, Bala, Dayal, Bimal, Praveen, Ram , Sq.Leg Thomas Dev Anand and his son

Mr. Nikhil went for the tour.

Celebrated Holy festival on a dinner meet on 19th March.

PRT 70 and PRRT 104 jointly watched the world cup semi finals on a big screen at Hotel Anandha Inn. PRT 70 and PRRT 104 jointly watched the world cup finals on a

Project:

The school building project is almost 60 percent completed. A small community service activity was done at Vivekanadha School during March. Stationery items were distributed for about 50 students.

Publicity:

Traffic awareness board was erected in seven different places in Puducherry. This was jointly done with Traffic Police Department. Auto fare boards were erected at main

BUS STOP in the presence of traffic commissioner.

Auto rally was performed in beach road. Various participants took part from different countries. The Chief guest was the Vice Chairman of Puducherry Municipality Mr Johnkumar.

Fellowship:

Fellowship @ 10 Downing Street - A Joint Meeting Cum Fellowship which saw all our Tablers and Circlers in High Spirits.

March 20th – Holi Fellowship @ Tr. Deepak and Cr. Yamini’s Farm House.

February 27th – Club Service: India Vs. England World Cup Cricket Tournament @ Hotel GRT Grand

March 22nd - Fellowship with Tr. Amit @ Cosmo Annex. Tr. Amit who was in town to

meet the Circlers of our Area on their project, was hosted by our Table for a Dinner and Fellowship.

March 30th – Its Cricket All The Way…Started with Fellowship At Hotel Deccan Plaza

organized by MSRT 39 followed by the next innings at Cosmo Annex organized by

MCRT 82.

Inter Table:

Team 82 participated at Top Gun in good numbers and won many awards.Forthcoming Inter Table Event - Dumb Charades with Stand Up Comedy on April 16th.

January 29th – Taare Zameen Pe at the Garden School RK Salai on 29th of Jan. Chief Guests : National President Tr. Vivek Vardhan Prasad, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mr. Tripati, Area Chairman Tr. Kavalpreet Singh, National convener for TZP Tr.Ashish Modi.


February 5th – Circus Inmates of Swami Charitable Trust, Mugalivakkam. It was a

joint project with our Circlers wherein the Young and Old inmates of Swami Charitable Trust, an orphanage in Mugalivakkam, were taken to the Circus along with our Twinklers.

February 13th – Turning Point - Provided food for 30 X Std Students and also distributed Geometry Box.

February 24th - MMDA Middle School, Koyambedu. Donated Blackboard and

Garbage Bins Rs. 10000

March 26th – Mukti M.S Dadha Foundation - Donated Rs.26,000/

MCRT 94 - Chairman LMF Tr Manoj LullaCommunity Service:Presented Rs. 6 Lakhs to Adyar Cancer Institute - “The Mahesh Memorial Trust” which helps children suffering from Cancer. The fund donated will be utilized for purchase of specialized

Chemo therapy equipments in their Paediatric centre. Music Director Mr Harris Jeyaraj was the Chief Guest.

Conducted several Health camps in association with Sanjeevi and Ford. The health camps were conducted every 3rd Thursday of the month under the supervision of Dr Achutha Rao and his team. 80 patients got benefited.

Organized a Cardiac Camp at Sanjeevi on 27th Feb. The camp was held under Dr Rakesh

Gopal’s and Dr Achutha Rao’s guidance. 70 patients were screened and 10 new cases of hypertension were detected.

LAPD:

RT 94 had a factory visit to BMW factory.

Fellowship:

Fellowship hosted by Tr Aswin followed by a dinner meet hosted by Tr Atheeswar. International Fellowship at Bangkok.

Charter Night celebrated at Park Hotel. Invited Past Chairman to be part of the Charter Night.


MMRT 95 - Chairman LMF Tr Vishal Jain

Fellowship:

Outstation fellowship trip to Pondicherry was organized on the 14th - 15th Jan 2011. 30 heads participated.

A cool Valentine Day fellowship was organized at 10D on 13th Feb.

Cricket World cup matches were screened at Chipstead, Taj. Tablers and Circlers had a good

time watching India progress. Various movie fellowships are organized.

Community Service & Projects:

Funds to the tune of Rs.4 Lakhs out of P&G and Rs.1.25 lakhs from RTIT were granted for the construction of 9 class rooms at Vivekananda School in Minjur.

Tablers attended the anniversary celebrations at Mukti Foundation on 26th March. It was also decided in the Table meeting to donate Rs.16,000/- to Mukti Foundation towards Limb donation .

Inter Table:

Organized and hosted “TOP Gun” on 26th Jan. 250 + heads were part of the event.Cr Megha

Kapadia won the II place at Area II Idol.


Fund Raising:

LAPD:

LAPD workshop session of 1100 people presented by Robin Sharma who was called all the way

from Canada. Every Tabler involved with organizing the event brought out the special Leadership skills from them and every Tabler turned out to be SUPER STAR in their respective areas assigned. It was a complete team work from Team 95.

publicity:

MMRT 95 brought huge publicity through their Mega fund Raiser “Robin Sharma Live”. The event was well covered in leading print media. The Hindu and Times of India covered an

article on the event. Radio (Chennai 104.8) publicity for one month, email and SMS Campaign,

Road shows, Facebook adv.,

MART 100 - Chairman Tr Rupesh Parekh

Successfully hosted the World 00-2011 – Incredible India. Representation from 7 countries excluding India, we had organized a 5 days, 5 Night Pre-Tout to Madurai, Thekaddy,

Kumarakom and Cochin, followed by 3 days in Chennai at GRT Temple Bay Resorts in

Mahabalipuram and an Optional Tour to North India for 4 days. International Guests witnessed the Various Cultural diversities of our country and have gone back with a great Impression of INDIA, we are proud that we could showcase Incredible India to our International guest in the right manner.

PRRT 104 - Chairman LMF Tr Amarnath

Fellowship:

Hosted the 2nd Area Board meeting on 9th Jan. Fellowship with the Area Board members the previous day. Special musical performance by Mr Sudeep Menon organized.

Spiritual fellowship trip to Tapovanam was organized by Chairman Tr Amar during Pongal.

11 Tablers participated at Top Gun and Area II Idol. Cr Nalini and Cr Sakshi participated

at Area II Idol.

Outstation fellowship trip to Yercaud was organized in the 3rd week of Feb. 40 + heads were part of the tour. Joint meeting and fellowship with Salem Table 84 at Yercaud.

PRT 70 and PRRT 104 jointly watched the world cup semi finals & finals on a big screen at Hotel Anandha Inn and Hotel Annamalai respectively.

Lapd:

Tr Jayant represented Area 2 at the National Leadership Conclave held in Bangalore in the 1st week of March.

HT Rajesh Guptha dinner social held at Park Hotel on 21st Jan 2011.

“Lost in the Jungle” - a children entertainer organized on 6th Feb. Dinner meet hosted

by Tr Gitesh Agarwal on 4th March at Aruna Inn. Participated in DJ War and won

the award.

Extension:Prospect Naresh Jain was inducted into RT 159 on 4th Jan 2011.

LAPD:“Know your Tabler” initiative organized.

MSRT 162 - Chairman LMF Tr Satish KumarFellowship:

Won the Area Fellowship Trophy for the month of January 2011. 162 won the trophy for the 3rd

time. Fellowship at Sq Leg Kiron’s residence on 7th Jan. 45 heads participated.

Fellowship at Tr Ash Geo’s farm house on 15th Jan. 32 heads particpated.

Fellowship at The Pasha on 23rd Jan hosted by Tr Sunil. 64 heads were part of the fun and

fellowship.

Participated in Top Gun in good numbers. Hosted Area 2 Idol, signature event of 162. More than 140 heads from Area 2 participated.

“Jillulu Chikkan” fellowship on 15th Feb at the Presidency Club. 51 heads took part on a

weekday. “Karaoke Night” social on 19th Feb at ALOFT by Tr Shafee & Rekha. 54 heads had

fun with music.

Birthday Bash at Taj hosted by Vani for Tr Sriganesh on 20th March. 50+ heads took part. Fellowship at Springs hosted by Tr Rajkumar on 26th March.

Decided to go ahead with building 2 class rooms irrespective of P&G grant. The Floor further decided to build additional 2 class rooms for financial support for Chairman Tr Jumbo Satish

to the tune of Rs.1 lakh.

Chairman Tr Jumbo Satish contributed towards Thanthai Periyar school. Fund Raiser:

Raised funds to the tune of Rs. 2 Lakhs.

International Relations:

IRO Convenor Tr Santosh visited Sri Lankan Round Table 1 and exchanged Pins and Flags. He met the National Board of Sri Lanka.

Tr Bharath attended 2 Table meetings at Turkey and exchanged Pins and Flags. He also met the EMA President.

Extension:

Sq Leg M C Sriram inducted Mr Sapan Gupta into MCRT-162. With this induction

MCRT 162 is 24 strong.

PHRT 167 - Chairman Tr ShankarNo representation from PHRT 167. Hence, nothing is reported.


MKRT 181 - Chairman LMF Tr Mahesh Dutia

Fellowship:

Won the Area Fellowship Trophy for the month of February 2011.

“Dresses of the World” dinner meet followed by fellowship at Rain Tree on 22nd

January.

Fellowship Basket Initiative to have more bonding amongst the families of Tablers.

Had a great fellowship watching India win the Cricket World cup at Hotel Quality Inn

Sabari on the 2nd April.

Project:Bhoomi Pooja for the construction of 5 class room at Vivekananda Vidyalaya School, Manali was held on 26th January.

Lapd:

“Know your Friends” was held on 2nd Feb 2011 at Citrus Quality Inn Aruna. 3 New

Speakers and a Guest Speaker in National Vice President Tr Aswinni participated.

Conducted DJ War on March 6th.

MIDTERM MEET – FROM MEXICO TO MYSORE

Hola. Como estas?

This is how Tablers from Area 2 were greeted when they arrived at Mysore on February

26, 2011 for the Joint Mid Term Meet with Areas 6 and 10. 25 tablers, 4 circlers and 5

twinklers from Area 2 decided to descend on the tablers of Mysore and enjoy their famous hospitality.

Tablers from Area 2 left Chennai for Mysore by all possible modes of travel - road, rail and air. A bunch of tablers from MRT 1 and MMRT 42 ensured that the passengers in

the 2nd AC compartment on Mysore Express were kept awake all night by their laughter, cheering and making frequent trips to the end of the compartment for “fresh air”. The tablers from MCRT 94 left the previous day to Bangalore and partied till dawn. It’s a

miracle how they managed to take the correct road to Mysore in the morning. A few

tablers from MKRT 181 and MMRT42 also drove down to Mysore on Saturday

morning after ensuring that they had plenty of refreshments for the 400 Km drive!

After arriving in Mysore, the MTM committee had organized lunch at Planet X – an

amusement park with go karting. bowling, snooker etc. Everyone had a great time enjoying the rides and the games especially the twinklers. But the real excitement for the tablers was – Ice Cold fosters draft beer for Rs.50!!!!!! After downing 34 pitchers, the tablers from Area 2 staggered back to their respective hotels for some shut eye before the grand party in the evening.


The theme for the informal night was Mexican. True to the Mexican spirit, the tablers from Mysore had decorated the lawns of the venue with huge cutouts of Spanish

Hollywood actors and actresses (including one at the entrance where everyone had to

enter through her skirt). They also gave sombreros and ponchos at the entrance for every tabler. After a few on-stage dance performances by the circlers of mysore and a

couple of girls from the CIS nations, the party kicked off with a wild DJ who ensured

that everyone at the party were on the dance floor. The party went on till… till…..till…. I have no idea what time it ended!

The next day after we had checked out from our respective hotels around noon, we made our way over to the venue where the MTM committee had organized some good ghazal singers and other entertainment. But the main highlight was the food. Absolutely lip smacking delicacies from Mysore including mysore pak, mysore malasa dosa, mysore rasam, special kozhi curry etc.

After stuffing ourselves to the brim, the Tablers who came by road left for Chennai in

order to reach home before midnight. Some of them stopped at Bangalore to catch the cricket match between India and England. The other Tablers who came by train

sauntered their way back to the station and left for Chennai (but only after one last fellowship on the train)!!!.

Overall a great experience. A special thanks to all the Tablers from MHRT 109 and

Area 6 for their great hospitality and for organizing such a wonderful event.

Coromandel Calling / TT - Tr Subash

The Area Chairman released the 3rd issue of Coromandel Calling. The first copy was received

by Chairman Jumbo Satish. The Hard copies will be couriered shortly. Area Board Members

appreciated the efforts of the Convener to raise sponsors for the issue.


Corporate Alliance - LMF Tr Shyam MuraliThe Convener explained the tie up with Citi Bank in detail. The Board members had various

queries with respect to the Bank’s required documents and how RTI benefits out of this tie up.

Chairman Manoj Bhaiya wished that Tablers who are existing card holders of the bank get

the same privileges that emanates out of this tie up. The Convener requested the Table

Chairmen to allow officials of Citi Bank to market their product during one of their business

meetings.

The Convener informed the floor that we can also look at alliances with Corporated for Supply

House items.

Sq leg Neville Billimoria of RT 94 has been running with Round Table 94 logo as well as the RTI ad FTE logos thus bringing a lot of publicity to the movement.

National Events - LMF Tr K J SantoshThe Convener informed the Floor that “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom” -Anthakshari Competition

will be conducted in Coimbatore on 29th April 2011, the day before the 4 Nex. The Convener

wished Area 2 is well represented in the Competition and suggested that the Winners and

Runners Up of Area 2 Idol make a team for Area 2.

The Convener informed that he would send more details of the competition and coordinate with

Tablers and Circlers wishing to participate in the event.

National Leadership Conclave

Area-2 saw great participation, in the National Leadership Conclave – Inspire to Lead. New

tablers Vikash Nahar (MWRT 10); Jayandrin (PRRT 104) and Ramesh Soni (PHRT167). A

wonderful program executed immaculately by Area-6. The 3 tablers came back energised,

charged and enlightened. It is guaranteed that they will paly a bigger role in Area and

Nationals in the days to come.


Various HR and LAPD initiatives were undertaken by different Tables. The Convener gave details of the various LAPD initiatives. Some of them are:•Know Your Tabler •A day with the Legend Robin Sharma•BMW factory visit by Tablers of MCRT 94

32nd Area AGM - LMF Tr SreedharanThe Convener presented a small presentation. The Convener proposed to have the Informal Night would be held on 3rd Sept at Le Meredian, the Business Session on 4th Sept morning and the Chairman’s Banquet the same day @ Hyatt. The same was seconded by MERT 30

and MCRT 94.

50th National AGM - Tr Suman VooraTr Shivaramakrishnan and Tr Suman Voora gave details of the NAGM preparations. The Convener requested for support from all the Tables of Area 2.

Association of Persons - Formation and Bye Laws:The Area Chairman informed the floor that the Byelaws for formation of AOP for Area 2 were drafted and the same displayed to the floor. There were healthy discussion as to the necessity of such a registration. The floor was convinced to the fact that formation of AOP is essential in

the larger interest of the organisation. Moreover, the National Board had recommended the formation for all Areas and Tables across India. Hence, the floor agreed to the formation of the AOP for Area 2. Certain issues relating to address for the AOP was discussed and the floor gave its in principle approval for the formation.


Non Receipt of Meeting MinutesIt was brought to the notice of the Board Members that Tables 10, 82, 100, 123 & 124 do not send

in their meeting minutes even after several communications over mail and personal phone calls and suggestions were sought from the board on how to deal with this.

Area Chairman Report Tablers it has been a great quarter here at Area 2. I would like to thank each one of you for a

successful quarter.

Would like to thank the tables of Area 2 for participating in the Joint Area MTM @ Mysore. Convenor Tr. Prasad – Appreciate your efforts in coordinating the same.

Would like to recognise tables RT1, 42, 94 & 181 for being there in good numbers @ Mysore.

Editor Tr. Subash – Yes you have done it again by releasing the 3rd issue of CC on time. Keep it up.

RT 100 & RT 30 congrats on successfully hosting the respective World Meets. The response from the delegates was over whelming and no doubt they have been the best World Meets ever.

Would like to congratulate SQ. Leg Ganesh Ananthakrishnan of RT 162 on taking over as one of the trustees of RTIF.

Would like to once again thank RT 162 for organising this AEX meeting alongside their signature intertable event the Swim Meet. Appreciate the efforts taken by Chairman Tr. Satish and the Tablers of RT 162.

Would like to inform the board about the upcoming twinklers talent competition “Chote Ustad”

to be held in the month of June 2011. Requested interested tables to come forward to jointly host the same on behalf of Area 2.


Area Secreatry Treasurer ReportThe Minutes Tracker is updated regularly and shared with the Area group on a monthly

basis. The Statement of Accounts of Area is also circulated as of March 31.

Communication sent to Area Groups with regard to election of Office bearers of the Table for the year 2011-12. The same needs to be intimated to the Area and National Boards on or before 31st May.

Any Other Matter•All Table Chairman meet was discussed and decided to take it forward. The date and venue of the meeting will be decided in due course offline.•MMRT 95 Projects Convener Tr Rajesh Bellani informed the floor about the receipt of approval of Rs.4 Lakhs from P&G funding and invited all members for the inauguration.

•Received Greetings from 41ers.•Chairman Shivakumar - MCRT 82 invited all for their Inter Table event Dumb Charades and Stand Up comedy on 16th April 2011.
