    Ninos de

    Mexico

is a home for orphaned, abandoned

an d unwanted children located in Southern Mexico near the

capital, Mexico City. It is a mission work of faith being

    carried on by

    Merlyn and Wanda

    Beeman

    and their three

boys, Terry David, James Gregory, and JohnMark. Spon

    soring and

overseeing this work is the First Christian

    Church in Washington, Missouri.

    Ninos de

    Mexico

is but a little over 7 years old now

    but

    much

    progress has

    been

    made

    since its beginning.

Since the first child was given a homeon March 25, 1967,

    others have

    come

    making

    a

    total

    of52

    children now living

in this home. Here they have found a new life where Christ

    is

    th e center of

    all.

This can be seen in that all of the older children have

    accepted

Christ as their Lord and Savior. The older boys

    are going out every

    weekend

    to preach the gospel and

    many

    week

    nights

for Bible Studyin homes in the villages.

There are also three students at our

    Bible CoUege

    in Eagle

    Pass , Texas .

    Ninos

    de

    Mexico

    began in

    rented

    quarters in

    Mexico

City but has now moved to the country. The rented house

    has been exchanged

    for nearly eleven

    acres of purchased

    landeighteen

    miles southeast

    of the

    city. An

    extensive build

ing program began shortly after arrival at their new loca

    tion

and is still in progress. The home now has eight

    bedrooms,

    plus

    a large commercial type

    kitchen,

    a

    large

dining room used also as a recreational room and on

    special occasions

    such

    as the annual Christmas program

    or revival

    meetings

    the

    Church moves

    in),

    plus

    a

    three

    bed

    room

    apartment

    for Merlyn

    and

    Wanda

    and their

    family

    and

    th

    nursery age children, plus

    two

    additional

    apart

    ments

    for help that is

    needed

to run the home. New side

    walks,

    some trees

    and plants, and a

    f w other things

    have

    been

    placed

outside to make the home a

    place

    of beauty

    and homeiness.

    About

    two

years ago when the opportunity to purchase

    a

    f w

additional acres of land was made the home was

    able

    to move

    into a

    n w

    farm program. This was an

    x

    citmg tune for

    this

    meant

    that

    with this

    program, jobs for

    the youth

    of

    the home

    could

    be

    provided as well as a

    2 50

    ^^erlyn and y, anda Beeman

supplement to the much needed food supply for the very

large dining table that must be filled three times each day.

    The

    farm

    program now

    hs

    four

    departments. The hog

department with twelve producing sows, the dairy depart

ment with five head of cattle, the rabbit department with a

    very

    rapidly

    growing number

    of

    animals an d

    the chicken

department that is just in the beginning stages. A large

    barn is being built to

    accomodate

    these animals.

The children attend public school in the village where

    the home is located

    San

    Vicente Chicoloapan). This is a

    new experience for

    many

    of the children as

    many

    of them

have never had the opportunity to attend school.

The home has helped to establish two growing con

gregations in Mexico. On many occasions printed tracts

    have been

    prepared

    by the missionaries of the

    area and

the children of the home have

    helped

    in distributing them.

From these have come contacts for correspondencecourses

    and

    home

    teaching opportunities.

The future of the home can best be summed up in the

words of the founders and directors, Merlyn and Wanda

    Beeman.

    Our goal has

    been

    to

    see

    our kids working

    for

the Master, putting Him first in their lives.

    We

    want them

    to

    reach

out to their friends, to the

    people,

    to their country

and even into all of Latin America with the influence of

    the

    Gospel.

This they are doing. That s why we are thrill

ed. But there is much more to be done. We now see a

    need for more

    Homes

    throughout Mexico. The possibilities

are tremendous. Both in need (we could almost literally

    fill

    a

    hundred

    homes

    overnight)

    and in the

    evangelistic

outreach (souls are crying out to be taught of Jesus). We

ask for your earnest prayers to be with us in this venture

of faith as Latin America is sought for Jesus.
