L’Orchestre d’Harmonie de Beaulieu Mandeure célèbre ses 130 ans d’existence en cette année 2016. Pour marquer cet événement important, le Moloco (Espace Musiques Actuelles du Pays de Montbéliard) et l’Harmonie se sont lancés dans un projet un peu fou : remonter le concerto pour groupe et orchestre de Deep Purple, composé par Jon Lord et joué au Royal Albert Hall de Londres en 1969.

Le défi artistique était double : d’une part, réarranger entièrement la partition de l’orchestre symphonique pour l’adapter à un orchestre d’harmonie ; d’autre part trouver le groupe de rock capable de s’approprier la musique de Deep Purple tout en apportant son identité propre. Le choix des 58 Shots a rapidement résonné comme une évidence. Accompagnés pendant un an par le Moloco et la Poudrière de Belfort dans le cadre du dispositif SPAAM, les belfortains sont désormais une valeur montante de la scène classic rock française. Associés au claviériste Nicolas Pouret, ils n’ont pas hésité à relever le défi d’interpréter ce concerto.

Nous tenons sincèrement à les remercier pour leur investissement dans ce projet. Pour eux comme pour les musiciens de l’Orchestre d’Harmonie de Beaulieu Mandeure, ces deux soirées constituent le point culminant d’une belle aventure humaine et artistique. Le monde des musiques dites « actuelles » et celui de la musique dite « classique » sont trop souvent cloisonnés l’un par rapport à l’autre.

Avec ce projet, nous espérons contribuer à bâtir des passerelles, à tisser du lien et à démontrer que la musique est plus que jamais à la fois une et plurielle.
