Champéry est l’un des plus anciens sites touris-tiques de Suisse. Tout a débuté avec l’ouverturede l’Hôtel de la Dent-du-Midi en 1857 et depuisplus de 150 ans, son charme, son authenticité etson hospitalité enchantent les hôtes du mondeentier. Toujours à la recherche d’améliorationpour le confort de ses visiteurs, les infrastructu-res du village s’améliorent et se développentcontinuellement. Le tourisme hivernal gagna ennotoriété dans la deuxième partie du XXe siècleet Champéry participa en 1969 à la création dudomaine des Portes du Soleil. Alles begann mit der Eröffnung des Hotels La Dent-du-Midi imJahr 1857. Um den Gästen den Aufenthalt in Champéry stets so komfortabel wiemöglich zu gestalten, entwickelt und verbessert sich die Infrastruktur des Ortesständig. Der Wintertourismus gewinnt erst in der 2. Tutto é iniziato con l’aperturadell’Hotel «la Dent-du-Midi» nel 1857 e da più 150 anni il suo charme, la suaautenticità e la sua ospitalità incantano i visitatori del mondo intero. Sempre allaricerca di miglioramenti per aumentare il comfort dei turisti, le infrastrutture delvillaggio hanno fatto grandi progressi. The Champéry – Planachaux cable-car (125 passengers) and the new 6 seater chair-lift in Grand-Paradis will whisk you away to an altitude of 2000 metres in just under5 minutes, depositing you right on the doorstep of the immense Portes du Soleilrecreational area. With 194 ski lifts and over 650 km of ski slopes, this is the largestinternational ski area in the world. The Portes du Soleil isn’t just skiing, however.Numerous other activities include cross-country skiing, winter walks, paragliding orsnowshoeing. Champéry’s Palladium (a NationalCentre for Ice Sports) offers a modern infrastructure for indoor and outdoor activitiesand regularly hosts national and international ice-sports training camps and competi-tions. Accrobranche, a new adventure course in the treetops, is our most recent addi-tion to an already diverse panoply of summer activities which include fishing, hiking,horseback riding, via ferrata, canyoning, and paragliding.
