    Our three keynote speakers are:

    Dr Ahmad Rahimian is President of WSP Cantor

    Seinuk, Structural Engineers, New York Divisionof WSP Group. An expert in the behaviour of

    structures under seismic and wind loading, he haswritten and published widely on designing toweringstructures and tall buildings and has been involvedin the design and engineering of buildings, stadiums,and bridges in cities around the world. He holds a U.S.patent in seismic protective design. Dr. Rahimian isalso chairman of one of the committees responsiblefor updating the New York City Building Code

    Dr Koji Sakai is a Professor at Kagawa Universityin Japan. Since 2002, Professor Sakai has been

    Chairman of fib Commission 3 (EnvironmentalAspects of Design and Construction) and, since 2008,he has been Chairman of JCI (Japan Concrete Institute)Committee (Minimization of Global Warming Substancesand Wastes in Concrete Sector) and ISO/TC71/SC8(Environmental Management for Concrete andConcrete Structures).

    Odd E. Gjrv is a Professor Emeritus in theDepartment of Structural Engineering at theNorwegian University of Science and Technology

    in Trondheim. His research includes advanced concretematerials and concrete technology as well as durabilityand durability design of concrete structures in severeenvironments. He has been honoured with severalinternational awards and is a member of the NorwegianAcademy of Technical Sciences and a Fellow of theAmerican Concrete Institute.
