    Outraged = escandalizada / Shocked = Sorprendida / Disappointed = Decepcionada/ Amazed =

    Asombrada / Downhearted = descorazonada, abatida / Not surprised in the least = no

    asombrada en absoluto / Pleasantly Surprised = Gratamente sorprendida / Frightened =

    Asustada / Brought down = desalentada, venida abajo/ Angry = enfadada / Upset = Molesta /Amused = divertida / Etc.

    COMPLAINING

    A friend you have in common had a puncture in one of the wheels of her car and the insurance

    company didn’t give her a good service. In fact, the tow truck showed up 7 hours later. She is

    considering different options: reporting it to the police, talk to one of the managers of the

    Company in your area and spreading the news around the Internet and giving negative

    comments and reviews about the Company.

    STUDENT A  –  It’s always better not to mess with big companies

    STUDENT B  –  It’s always worth complaining using every possible means available

    BINGE DRINKING

    You’ve read this article in a magazine: “25% of Spanish teenagers drink more tan 2 litres of

    alcohol every weekend” 

    STUDENT A  –  It’s only a phase, in due time they’ll give it up

    STUDENT B  –  Education is the key to prevent this type of behaviour

    SOLAR PANNELS AT WORK

    Your boss is planning to install some solar pannels on the roof of the building. They cost a

    petty sum so your salary will be slightly reduced in order to pay the new environmentally

    friendly system.

    STUDENT A  –  We all need to make an effort if we want an environmentally friendly office

    STUDENT B  –  It’s an amazing idea but the Company should pay for the new pannels.

    PET AS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT

    A couple that you know are considering buying a puppy to their 7-year-old daughter as a

    Christmas present. They are not sure if adding a new member to their family will have a

    positive impact or quite the opposite they will end up feeding and taking the dog for walks

    instead of their child. Give them advice.

    STUDENT A  –  Children learn a lot if they have to be responsible of a living being

    STUDENT B  –  Children are spoilt and capricious
