    3FACCI - Annual Report // 2013 - 2014

Dear Members and Friends of the French-Australian Chamber, Despite the post-GFC effects Australia remains "The lucky country". As the 12th largest economy, with 23 consecutive years of growth, a solid AAA rating and low unemployment, Australia is a resilient, dynamic and open economy chosen by an increasing number of multinational corporations and SME's as a great place to invest and to do business. For these reasons, and many others, the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry and its 5 Chapters has grown, now representing a business platform of more than 700 members (the 3rd largest membership base of French bilateral Chambers in Asia-Pacific), and a network of more than 4,500 contacts across Australia. Our attractive calendar of corporate events has also proven to be an important factor in the record attendance of 8,000 guests who attended 100 functions.

Our Chapters have improved their operational structure and services, and have seen their activity significantly growing, particularly in Sydney, in the best interest of our business community. Our Constitution will also soon reflect the recent changes in the governance of the Chamber. Consequently, the team at Federal and State Chapters levels should contribute to the provision of a more defined and tailored service. Launched last year, our employment platform has facilitated the recruitment of more than 50 full-time employees, and the Chamber's Business Services has supported a growing number of French companies in exporting to Australia, and exploring new opportunities. These positive indicators have encouraged us to initiate new projects and to promote the close relationship between France and Australia, a relationship that will be highlighted by numerous official and business visits during the year, and as part of the G20/B20 hosted in Australia. I would also like to take this opportunity to warmly thank our members for their active involvement, our board members and operational team for their commitment, hard work and achievements. The year ahead will certainly demonstrate the continuation of the trend, and our Chamber will pursue its efforts to always serve you best.
