Majadahonda is one of the most convenience loca-tions for having a quiet residence near Madrid. At just 17 km form the financial center, and 30 minutes form T4 Airport. We used one of the last remaining plots left for been developed on an residencial area cre-ated back on the 60’s.A sense for discrete approach was required for this project, for two reason. The shape of the plot is trian-gular, therefore, very visible from two streets. And second due to the remarkable building on the adjoin-ing parcel, project by the famous German architect Arthur Webber.

For those reasons, the presence for our work was been minimized, using different strategies: - Low volumetric profile has been acquired by exca-vation. There is a entire story on basement, dedi-cated to garage and storage.- Flat roof and glass railing on top.- Integration on the original trees set up, to hide the house from both surrounding streets.

Also on interior, construction materials have been chosen, so that they get the littler notice, letting the furniture and the jarden scenery thought wide win-dows, take the biggest presence on the final image and decoration. The re-use of wooden rail sleepers for the garden configurarion, earth containing and entrance gates, gives a very neat contranst betwin moden construction technics and rustic natural sor-roundings.

Saint Teresa Palace is located in Galicia, on the Northwest end of Spain, near the atlantic sea shore, 15 minutes from Vigo, the bigest city in that región and 10 minutes from the Peinador Airport.

The house has its origin on 16th century. On the 19th century aditions were made and It became the main house on the county.

The palace is originaly made of thick stone walls and wooden interior structure. Due to termite infestation, the entire building was in danger and need integral renewal. New fundaments, iron pillars and concrete slabs were made, mantaineing the original look and teaste of the origonal building.

The interior design was kept with the taste of the 19th century, making restoration of the forniture we could

rescure from the acction of termites. All the installa-tions and insulations were replaced on actual stan-dards, so the buildong can be used like a hotel. The stone fachades had to be disassamble, and assamble again to solve internal strutural problems. A water presured treatment was applied to restore the original color of galicians golden granite.

PARISH

Other well known architects as Tuñón&Mansilla Architects, participated on this restricted contest. Finally, our design won the contest and we got the rIght to carry out this project. This is the first Parish in story dedicated to the new Saint and more than ten came afterwards all around the wolrd. The complex include an auditorium for six hundred people sited aforum, a smaller for 150 hun-dred, two student residences and 2 stories for under-ground parking. Our achivement as architects was to renew an old and very consolidated edificatory typol-ogy to our time. Every body spects a very precise final aperance for this kind of building. We made a profound reflexion of what a parish shoud be, what a parish look like, what architectural modern vavues can be adopted on such a building.The most risky deción was related to ilumination. Could we use most modern types of natural ilumina-tion though new kind of roof topping?. Time will judge the conveniece of our design.

Sited side-to-side with Alicante’s “l’Altet” Airport, close to the meditaranean sea shore, the com-plex has been a successful iniciative for the administrative region, a reactivating factort for he economy of the province. The designing project was contracted to Bastien and Associates, a firm specialized on film-stages matters. Bastien and Associates office headquarters are located in Los Angesles, California.

It includes eight state-of-the-art sound stages, production support buildings, dressing rooms buildings, storage buildings, mill/shops building, commissary building, a 22-acre backlot, multiple water tanks on Mediterranean Sea, administra-tion offices building, theater, post production Buildings, and a film school building.

Our work in MRA, consisted on making the develop-ing technical documentation, the specifications and construction site works supervision. All of that during all the phases on each individual project inside the complex.This is the first film-stages complex in europe of such magnitute. We have taken care for the many aspect of design and analized many technical peculiar aspects of the instalations.

Orriols is a low income neighborhood, at the north side of Valencia city. Our client is a charity founda-tion. Eifor Foundation was willing to give formation to the poor, raising the technical and economical level of the citizens of that part of the city.Our work became a rehabilitation project. An old and abandoned cinema, was reconverted on a new school for the young people of the neighborhood. Many structural additions had to be made from the origial configuratión of the building, and many design and imagination had to be put on paper in order to get solutions on time and budget.

Our client had a very acurate sense of that was looking for: A place to have a live autdoors with family and friends form breakfast to dinner; from late spring season to late autum. The project counts with a meetting place, a kictchen, dressing room, bath room, swiming pool, fixed barbecue and a drive way to a covered parcking lot. A project for the senses.
