Judith Del Rey Grimaldi Judith Del Rey Grimaldi graduated from Fontbonne in 1966. Since then, she has always maintained her connection to the school. Judie has attended many events, including class reunions and the Fleur de Lys Dinner Dance. She has shared her expertise with Fontbonne by serving on our Board of Trustees, particularly on the Development Committee. She has offered her thoughts to our students by speaking at our Graduate Luncheon, and this year, as our graduation speaker. Judith received her BA summa cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College with a certificate in Gerontology, her MSW with honors from Hunter College and her JD from Brooklyn Law School. She is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey and the U.S. Federal Courts and is a certified elder law attorney, a designation given by the National Elder Law Foundation. Judith is a partner in the pioneering elder law firm GRIMALDI & YEUNG LLP. Her areas of practice include elder law, estate planning, estate administration and special needs planning. Her decade of experience as a social worker has given her firsthand experience with the day-to-day impact of aging and disability on individuals and families. As an attorney for over 20 years, Judith has represented the rights of the aged and disabled. She has special expertise on planning for the pre and post retirement years. Her particular focus is on family caregivers and homecare. Judith has been the recipient of many honors and awards. She has been named one of “New York’s Women Leaders in the Law 2012”, by New York Magazine and after an extensive peer review and rating process, New York Magazine has named her one of New York’s “Best Lawyers” 2008 to 2016, and has also been named to the “Super Lawyers” list from 2009 through 2015. She is also Peer Review Rated for ethical standards and legal ability through Martindale-Hubbell, and is currently an adjunct professor of Brooklyn Law School.

Judith Del Rey Grimaldi graduated from Fontbonne in 1966. Since then, she has always maintained her connection to the school. Judith has been extensively involved in the community. She recently served as the coordinator of the May 2016 “Welcome to the 60’s, Senior Sidewalk Social,” which was attended by over 400 local retirees. She is a member of Community Board 10 and is a past chair of the Senior Issues Committee. She is an officer and treasurer of the NY Memory Center, a day program for Alzheimer patients. She is a member of the Brooklyn Committee for the Alzheimer’s Walk on the Coney Island Boardwalk. She serves on the coordinating committee for the Brooklyn Go Red for Women, a heart disease education breakfast and campaign.

Judith has written extensively and has been published many times. Most notably, she is the author of the estate planning guide “5@55, The Five Legal Documents You Need by Age 55.”

We at Fontbonne Hall Academy are very proud of all that Judith has accomplished and has done to help others. We are proud to name her Alumna of the Month.
