Mieux vaut cuisiner un peu qu’acheter des plats préparés Pour manger bio tout en maîtrisant son budget, on peut choisir des produits relativement « basiques », peu ou pas transormés, et commercialisés en vrac plutôt que suremballés. Les produits prêts à l’emploi, les portions individuelles et les plats cuisinés sont plus chers en raison des diérentes étapes de transormation qu’ils ont subies et des coûts supportés par les entreprises pour le packag ing et le marketing des produits. Certains magasins bio proposent des produits d’épicerie en vrac (céréales, lentilles, ruits secs, biscuits…) et des conditionnements « amiliaux » (pour la arine par exemple), à des prix plus attractis. Se faire plaisir avec des produits de saison et une cuisine créative Laissez-vous tenter par des recettes originales, simples et raiches, qui redonnent toute leur place aux ruits et légumes de saison, plus savoureux et moins coûteux, et aux légumes secs (haricots rouges, blanc ou noirs, lageolets, pois, pois chiches, èves, lentilles vertes, blondes ou corail…), associés aux céréales, ain de diminuer votre consommation de viande, sans vider votre porteeuille. Pour vous aider à trouver des produits bio près de chez vous, les associations du réseau Corabio éditent chaque année des guides pratiques qui répertorient les producteurs en vente directe, les marchés, les magasins bio, les points de vente collectis, les AMAP et autres paniers paysans. offre aux consommateurs des produits sains et de qualité,

l’agriculture biologique permet à la société toute entière deréaliser des économies considérables ! 

L px d s lms ’èg ps :Les coûts de traitement de l’eau potable, très élevés en raisondes pollutions diuses liées aux engrais et aux pesticideschimiques de synthèse utilisés en agriculture ;Les subventions massives qui sont versées, au travers de lapolitique agricole commune (PAC), aux exploitations agricolespour garantir leur compétitivité sur le marché ;Les dépenses de santé qui ne cessent de croître en raison dudéveloppement de certaines pathologies comme le diabète,l’obésité, les maladies cardiovasculaires et certains cancers, enpartie liées à notre alimentation industrielle et déséquilibrée.

Les prix ne reètent pas toujours la réalité économique desexploitations agricoles. Pour rester compétitis sur les marchés,les agriculteurs sont souvent contraints de vendre leursproductions à des prix inérieurs à leur coût de revient. Ils sontaujourd’hui dépendants des aides publiques pour assurer lasurvie de leur exploitation. Par ailleurs, une politique de basprix incite les producteurs à renorcer la productivité de leurexploitation, souvent au détriment de la qualité des produits.

L’alimentation des animaux, les produits naturels de luttecontre les maladies des plantes ou encore les semences sontplus chers en bio ;Les rais de main d’œuvre sont plus élevés : à surace égale,une erme bio nécessite davantage de main d’œuvre qu’uneerme conventionnelle (surveillance accrue des troupeaux etdes cultures, désherbage mécanique…) ;La certifcation et les contrôles, obligatoires pour pouvoircommercialiser les produits dans le circuit bio, sont payants ;

Les densités d’élevage et les rendements sont plus aibles enbio et limitent le chire d’aaires ;Les coûts logistiques pour la collecte, la abrication ou ladistribution des produits bio, sont plus élevés. L’agriculturebiologique étant insufsamment développée en France (4 %des exploitations agricoles), les producteurs sont éparpilléssur le territoire et les volumes en jeu sont limités, ce quine permet pas aux entreprises de réaliser des économiesd’échelle.

Les produits bio sont de ait quasi xmps d ésdus dpsds u d’dds mqus interdits par le cahier descharges. De nombreuses études démontrent également lasupériorité nutritionnelle des produits bio. Elles soulignentleur plus orte teneur en matière sèche, en vitamines et enminéraux.

Le poids de l’alimentation dans le budget total des ménagesa ortement diminué ces dernières décennies pour atteindre25 % en 2007 contre 38 % en 1960*. Cela s’explique parl’augmentation du pouvoir d’achat sur cette période maisaussi par une réorientation du budget des amilles au proft dulogement, des transports, de la santé mais aussi des dépensesde communication ou de loisirs.Dans ce contexte, aire le choix du bio implique paroisde procéder à un nouvel arbitrage entre les dépenses deconsommation. Cela relève avant tout d’un choix individuelet nous questionne sur l’importance que nous accordons à laqualité de notre alimentation, à notre santé et à la protectionde l’environnement.
