    Muse Mmorial du Gnocide Armnien

Working on the asumption that the existing building lacks visibility from the public space, we conceived a building running from the street to the hold existing construction. This gesture brings up the historical building to a certain monumentality, and guide visitors along the site. The general volumes settlement establishes a dialogue between the existing classical building and the new monuments. Eventhough we adopted a monumental posture, the new building keeps a respectfull distance from the 18th century building and attempt to highlight it.Responding to his counterpart, the new building use the uncluttered vocabulary of the grec temple. It is fondamentally an entablature set down on a colonnade placed upon a base which is shared with the historical building. The new building wear a limestone alike the historical buildings one but it assumes its di"erence with a smooth !nishing. This monumatality engrave the expression of a museum shaped like a temple dedicated to Armenniams people, to the memory of the ordeals it went through and to its ability to get itself back together.

    Maison Container

Located above North Bondi points cli", the house takes advantage of this breathtaking view and overlooking Bondi Beach and the open sea.Preserving the proportions, the structure and the original use of containers, we stacked them in two stories, establishing so a resulting living space. Containers receive the private parts of the house. The container surrounded living space can be fully unwraped by stacking the folding glazed doors aside crating a closer relashion between inside and outside. Each facade has di"erent louvers pattern depending on sun protection need. Two contnairs istinguish theirselves. One is encased into the slope as the swimming pool and the other, reaching the sky, comes out as a vertical signal and creates a belvedere on its top $oor. Each container encloses a private space like bedroom, bathroom, home o#ce, etc. All of them are wide open on their bottom, respecting its spaciality and its proportions. Those private rooms follow a layout which is based on a 800mm wooden pallet planks modules highlighting the container housing and vacation spirit.

The Lodge is located between the two high points of the site, overlooking onto the lake Burley Gri#n.Conceived as a single building, the three main sections - The Prime Ministers Home, the O#cial Function Space and the Prime Ministers Study - are expressed as distinct volumes within the landscape and have been located on the site to capture speci!c views. They are connected through a basement level of Support Services that also provides a secure passage. A single storey concrete colonnade providing a generous entrance to the Home, and stretching around and under the Function Space and framing the entrance to the Study creates an opportunity for the Prime Minister of having a physical and mental separation between family and work, home and o#ce. The repeating concrete arches provide a rhythm to the building and act as the main organizing element.Initially concealed from view, the basement level contains the most private aspects of the brief. Housing the bedrooms and informal living spaces for the Prime Minister and family, this level is dug into the sloping site. Below the Function Space, the basement contains all the back of house services required.A pedestrian path connects the swimming pool, the tennis court and the jetty through the domain.

The Lodge is located between the two high points of the site. Saint Denis, Paris, FrancePle dchange Multimodale

The project was the subject of my diploma in 2012. Located in Saint Denis, a Northern Parisian suburb, it is on a strategical point where many suburban inhabitants leave their car to go working in Paris by train. At the con$uence of the Seine river and the channel Saint Denis, the site was until then an island split in to parts by existing industrial buildings and the transversal infrastructure. The breaf answers to the necessity of the territory : a public transport hub connecting train, tramway and buses and a parking and a market.A sloping square is dug into the ground. Flowing under the complex, it reconnects the two divided parts of the site. From ther the pedestrian can access the ground $oor market, the platforms or the parking. The parking, located over the platforms is made with to ramps coiling up around each other like DNA strands. In an utopian future where cars would have desapeared, the parking could become a mall with o#ces where we could !nd gymnasiums and cultural center. Until such times the building shows o" the monumentality of infrastructure today through a megastructure ornamented.

This building is to paired with the Bondy one presented afterwards. The exercise of the semester consisted in conceiving two collective-dewillings buildings based on the same principle but di"erentiated by their contextualisation. The concept, common to both projects is a grid plan based on 3.50m side squares. Each cell is identical to every others, so the plan allow a very high $exibility. Thus, occupiers can freely reorganise their appartment according to their taste and needs. Furthermore this plan produces corridorless appartments wich makes the whole built volume as a living space. This grid de!nes not only a spatial organisation but also structure schema visible from all over the $at. Beams and co"ered ceilings express subdivisions that guide the space layout. The bay widows, multiplied all along the facade increase its length and so are are views and the brightness of the dwellings. It also draws a facade all-over patern which makes the building identity. In Paris the building is morphologically contextualised by being stuck against the adjoining building and respecting the Haussmanian calibre with the inner courtyard. On the facade, the moulding highlights horizontal lines which distinguish the parisian facade arrangement.

Bondy is estern suburb of Paris. Going along the channel of Ourc which links Lafayette street to Bondy, we can see the blocks metamorphosis from the closed block of the ancient city to the open block with isolated buildings like autonomous objects. The building is contextual by its morphology. Detached o" the adjoinings buildings this eleven $oor tower takes advantage of 360 wide views. Inspired by some Milanese tower like the Torre Velasca, the project shows o" a raw style which recalls suburbs water towers phographed by Bernd and Hilla Becher. Here again, bay windows are multiplied all along the facade increasing the views and the brightness in the dwellings. It also gives a sculptural form to the building which catch the light and lays with shadows.Like the Paris building, the work on the structure takes here a great importance. The structural grid avoid any load-bearings between the facade and the vertical circulation which allow the most $exibility. The structure draws the ceilings and is seen on facades. But here, contrary to Paris, the vertical lines come over to enhance the slender character and lightness of the tower by thinning down while going to the upper $oors.

The project is located on the Dorsoduro, one out of the six sestieri - area - of Venice. The site stands at the crossroads of two squares and stetches to the chanel of Santa Maria Magiore. The project divided in three buildings set down on the previous buildings footings with some di"ernces. Those three volumes are placed according two their own geometrical rules confronted to the direct context geometries. These geometrical confrontations create very Venetian contextual relations with the context which make the strolling picturesque. Some very narrow Calle - Venetian passage ways - separate the facing building views. The church of Angelo Ra!aele alomost verges on the the western corner of the building. On the ground $oor, a covered passage way recalls the Portego of Venetian palaces and links the chanel to the square. It also highlight the relationship between the three buildings. The common $oor plan is based on a grid which organises the space and draws the structural schema through porticos and co"ered ceiling. This concrete structure is also seen on facades. A brick !lling shows o" its status of non-bearing-matter with di"erent brick-layings, so that becomes a decorative pattern.

The brief is a glass center in Murano, Venice, housing a workshop, a museum, a library and few dwellings. This project interrogate the context and the venetian identity revisiting some local architectural designs and playing with folding the pitched roofs. The strip layout of the volumes respond to the nearby manufacturing buildings which strech from the chanel to the lagoon. Those buildings placed that way dialogue with each other, give crossing perspectives and call out to strolling. The journey starts along a long workshop hall which housing the glass factory. Strangely shaped cheniney show o" the identity of the building. Across the pathway we immediatelly recognise the dwelling building with its dormers and altane, those terrasse set down on venetian dewllings roof. In the bottom of the passage way, the museum reuse the portego, this large crossing room of the venetian traditionnal palaces where nobles commercial goods were unloaded. Its roo!ng gives o" light through folded side. Some isolated light sources enhance some displayed glass works. The library, in front of a green park, enjoyes di"use light given out of the folded roof again. Each building has a di"erent folded roof system, adapted to the quality of light desired inside and to the image it need to show o".

    Vincennes, France

The project is located withing a short walking distance from the Vincennes castel in Estern Paris suburb. This was my !rst esperience as a project leader from the draft to the request for tender. This project gave me the oportunity to enhance my experience of the pre-construction phases, to undersand the di"erent relations between the di"erent operators of the project (project managers, contractors and technical consultants) and to integrate the french regulations for dwellings buildings.Set on road-to-road crossing ground, the project must house 28 dwellings and a store. To buildings are placed at the antipodes of the site. The !rst one, a six level block has an open ground $oor to give the passage through to pedestrian. The second one, a two level building, $ush aside the side to let the passage way pass along. Between these two blocks, a green courtyard give to the resident a beautiful park to chill out and great views from their apartments. The challenge of this project was to keep a radical plan on a intricated ground while building all the capable volume to aim the number of dwellings in demand. Thus the biggest block uses all the nooks, and contains two courtyards to get enlight, views and natural ventilation.

The competition site is located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, in the northern corner of an area commonly called la goute dor. The ground is at the bow of the block, on the crossroads of rue des Poissonniers and Rue Myrha. Further more it is on the top of a hillock which confer it a great visibility from all around the area. Therefore, the faade work needed to have a particular attention. The volumes disposition was almost already de!ned by the feasibility study, and regarding to the density imposed by the city, it would have been a very tough work to try to change it. So our studios aim was to work on the faade and the relationship between this building and the public space.Once the plans were set up to the latest detail, the challenge was to propose a facade that was responding to the traditionnal Parisian context while showing o" the clearness of a contemporery facade writing. The facade re$ect an open composition with large windows for the corner living rooms set to be read as randomly placed. The ductal panels making the coating are curved to form the windows overhangs. As a wink to the nickname of la goutte dor, the very visible private spaces windows frames are ornamented with gold re$ection shutters.
