1. L’obélisque de la frontièreErigé en 1948 pour fêter les 300 ans du Traité de Concordia établissant le partage de l’île entre la France et la Hollande, c’est l’un des monuments les plus photographié de l’île. C’est un des seuls signes visibles qui rappelle qu’il existe une frontière entre les deux pays.
2. Le Fort LouisConstruit en 1789 par la population de Marigot, le Fort Louis compte parmi les sites incontournables de l’île ! Ce lieu chargé d’histoire offre une vue imprenable sur Marigot, le lagon de Simpson Bay, les Terres Basses et la Baie Nettlé.

3. The Courthouse(2)
Situé en plein cœur de Philipsburg, « The Courthouse » est l’un des monuments les plus célèbres de la partie hollandaise de Saint-Martin. Construit en 1793 et restauré à plusieurs reprises, le Palais de Justice fi gure sur la liste des monuments historiques majeurs.
4. L’Église methodistede Philipsburg L’église méthodiste construite en bois est un bel exemple des églises caribéenne. Entièrement reconstruite en 1979, elle est en tout point identique à l’église d’origine, bien que ses murs soient en béton et recouverts de bois. Un monument phare de Philipsburg.

Marigot
1. The Obelisk marking the BorderBuilt in 1948 to commemorate the 300 years of the Treaty of Concordia upon which France and Holland agree to split the island, it is one of the most photographed monument in Saint-Martin. It is also one of the only signs reminding that there is a border between the two sovereign nations.
2. Fort LouisBuilt in 1789 by the people of Marigot, Fort Louis is a site that is not to be missed when visiting the island! This important historical site offers magnifi cent views of Marigot, Simpson Bay Lagoon, the Terres Basses and Nettlé Bay.

7. The CourthouseLocated right in the heart of Philipsburg, The Courthouse is one of the most famous monuments in the Dutch part of Saint-Martin. Built in 1793 and restored several times, the Courthouse is an historical monument of major importance.
4. Philipsburg Methodist Church The Methodist Church is a fi ne example of a wooden Caribbean church. Completely rebuilt in 1979, it is identical to the original church, although its walls are made of concrete covered with wood. It is one of Philipsburg’s foremost monuments.

Le parc Emilio WilsonLe parc Emilio Wilson s’étend sur une ancienne plantation de sucre de 170 ha allant de la route jusqu’au sommet de Sentry Hill. Le parc est désormais ouvert au public, le pique-nique y est autorisé, c’est devenu un lieu de réunion en famille. Il y a également une plaine de jeux pour enfants.
Emilio Wilson Park The Emilio Wilson Park is located on what was once a sugar plantation covering about 107 acres from the road to the top of Sentry Hill. It is now an open public park where one can picnic and spend time with family. There is also a playground area for children.
Fort Amsterdam
Situé sur Little Bay, il a été construit en 1631. On raconte que c’est l’endroit où Peter Stuyvesant a perdu sa jambe lors d’une bataille contre les Espagnols, avant de mettre les voiles pour New Amsterdam (New York). C’est l’occasion de plonger dans l’histoire de Sint Maarten et d’admirer la vue sur Great Bay.
Fort Amsterdam Located at the Little Bay, It was built in 1631 and it is reportedly where Peter Stuyvesant lost his leg in battle against the Spanish, before he set sail for New Amsterdam (New York). One can take in St. Maarten’s history at this fort and overlook the Great Bay.
Guavaberry EmporiumGuavaberry est la légendaire liqueur locale à base de rhum de l’île. Elle est produite sur Frontstreet à Philipsburg, dans l’emblématique Guavaberry Emporium, devenu un Monument National. Guavaberry Emporium est une vieille maison citadine en cèdre, construite sur les fondations d’une des plus anciennes synagogues du monde occidental.
Guavaberry Emporium Guavaberry is legendary folk liqueur and the national rum liqueur of the island. It is made on Frontstreet in Philipsburg at the landmark Guava-berry Emporium, which is a National Monument. The Guavaberry Emporium is an old Dutch Creole cedar town house built on the foundation of one of the oldest Jewish synagogue in the western world.
