    ON THE SAFETY OF THE ROBOTS

    All robots shall be designed and

    manufactured as to pose/cause:

    1. No danger of any kind to any person

    in the venue.

    2. No damage to any robot of an

    opposing team and game field.

    OUTLINE OF THE CONTEST

    o Rescue Robot will move by following theprepared line track and collect the balls as

    much as possible.

    o The robot is considered completing the

    task when the robot successfully collects all

    the balls and reaches the finish line.

    o Each match is contested by RED and BLUE

    teams.

    o The victim is a standard

    ping pong ballwith an

    orange in color.

    o The ball will be placed

    on top of the readymade

    holes with size of1 cm

    diameter.

    o The ball outerdiameter

    is 40 mm.

    GAME PROCEDURE

    LENGTH OF A MATCH1. Each match lasts THREE (3) minutes.

    2. In the following cases, a match ends

    even before THREE (3) minutes:a. When the task is achieved.

    b. In the event ofdisqualification.

    c. When the referees judge that

    continuation of the match isimpossible.

    GAME PROCEDURE

    SETTING OF ROBOT

    1. ONLYONE (1) robot is allowed to enter the game field.

    2. ONE (1) minute is provided for setting of robot before

    the start of each match.3. THREE (3) members of each team are allowed for

    SETTING of robot.

    4. Any team that fails to complete setting of robots

    in one minute shall be able to resume the settingwork once the match has begun.

    GAME PROCEDURE

    Starting the Rescue Robot

    1. The robot shall be placed in the StartZone.

    2. ONE (1) team membershall start therobot.

    3. After switching the robot ON, the team

    member who performs the startingoperation shall keep distance with thegame field area.

    COMPETITION TASKS

    Collecting the ball1. The robot shall identify and collect all the balls in the

    line track.

    2. There is no limitation on the mechanism on howto collect the ball.

    3. Once a robot has crossed the starting line it mustremain fully autonomous, or it will bedisqualified.

    How to complete the task

    1. The robot task is considered completed whensuccessfully collect all 5 balls and reaches thefinish line.

    RETRIES FOR ROBOTS

    1. In the case ofrobot loses the line , it is

    possible to start again (Retry) with the

    referees permission.

    2. The robot must start the course again from

    the beginning, and if it loses the line courseon its second attempt it will be disqualified.

    2. Team members are permitted to touch the

    robots while preparing for a Retry.

    3. Retry shall be made at the point where it was

    lost, or at any earlier(e.g. already traversed)

    DECIDING THE WINNER

    1. The winner shall be decided in the following order

    of priority:

    a. Robot has completed collected all the balls and

    reaches the finish line first

    b. The team that has collected the greater points.

    2. The competition will be conducted in two rounds.

    Each robot had the opportunity to play in both of field

    (RED and BLUE).

    3. Points There are 5 ping-pong balls on the track.

    Each ball carries 3 points.

    DECIDING THE WINNER

    4. The winnerwill get 3 marks.

    5. Ifdraw, each team get 1 mark and NO mark for aloserteam.

    6. If the marks is equal, then the play offwill be

    conducted to select the team for semi-final.

    CONDITIONS AND POINTS TO WATCH OUT FOR

    IN DESIGNING AND MANUFACTURING ROBOTS

    1. Each team shall use only ONE (1) robot.2. The robots may not divide into sub-units.

    3. No communication between the robot and operator.

    4. The robot used in the contest must be handmade by students.

    The Robot

    1. The Robot shall move automatically once it has been started by a team

    member.

    2. The Robot shall be started by a single switch operation.

    3. The dimensions of the Rescue Robot shall not exceed 200 mm (long) x

    200 mm (wide). The robot cannot be expanded more than thisdimension.

    4. The robot must be powered single or combination battery.

    5. The weight of the robot must not exceed 1.5 kg.

    Detailed rules on safety

    1. The use ofexplosives, fire and

    dangerous chemicals is prohibited.2. If a laseris used, it shall be of Class 2

    or less. The beams must be so oriented

    that they cannot shine into the eyes ofthe spectators.
