EDITO

2013 aura été une année de consolidation pour le

groupe FAYAT, qui achève son organisation par grands

métiers. Le chiffre d’affaires et les résultats, en légère

progression (une tendance jamais démentie en 56 ans

d’existence), reflètent des situations contrastées :

amélioration de la contribution des travaux publics,

belle croissance de FAYAT Energie Services, situation

difficile pour la construction métallique, alors que le

bâtiment et le matériel routier attendent les fruits de

leurs investissements.

Malgré un contexte économique tendu et le ralentissement

des grands investissements publics, renforcés par un

environnement émotionnel négatif, le Groupe a

maintenu sa stratégie de développement raisonné.

Nous avons ainsi investi dans de nouvelles usines aux

Etats-Unis et au Brésil, marchés à fort potentiel, et mené

des opérations de croissance externe pour développer

notre maillage territorial dans les métiers de l’électricité.

Face à la complexité de cette situation, nous nous

devons d’aborder 2014 avec prudence. Mais notre

organisation est en place, appuyée sur les fondamentaux

qui sont nos piliers : notre culture entrepreneuriale, nos

valeurs humaines, la proximité et l’autonomie de nos

sociétés, notre vision à long terme. Nous continuerons à

investir, tant en moyens industriels qu’humains, afin de

préparer demain.

2013 has been a year of consolidation for the Fayat Group,

putting the finishing touches to our organisation in broad

sectors of activity. Sales and profits are up slightly (an unfailing

trend for our 56 years of existence), reflecting some contrasting

situations: an improvement in the contribution of civil

engineering, strong growth in FAYAT Energie Services and a

more difficult situation for steel construction, while

construction and road-building equipment await the returns

on the investments they have made.

A STRATEGY FOR SUSTAINABLE GROWTH

Despite the difficult economic context and slowdown in major

public investments, compounded by a generally negative

prevailing atmosphere, the Group has stuck to its strategy of

sustainable growth. We have invested in new plants in the

United States and Brazil, both markets with big potential, and

conducted some external growth operations to enhance our

geographical coverage in the electricity business.

PREPARE FOR TOMORROW

Faced with the complexity of the situation, we must approach

2014 with caution, but our organisation is soundly in place,

built around the fundamentals that form the pillars of the

company: our entrepreneurial culture, human values, close

relations between autonomous companies and long-term

vision. We will be continuing to invest not only in industrial

facilities, but also in people to prepare for tomorrow.

FAYAT façonne et met en œuvre 70 000 tonnes d’acier chaque

année, ce qui place le Groupe au premier rang national des

constructeurs métalliques. Ses compétences architecturales

et techniques couvrent tous types d’ouvrages : charpentes

métalliques, verrières, ponts, façades, pylônes etc.

FAYAT processes and uses 70,000 tons of steel every year,

making it the national number one in steel construction.

Its architectural and technical know-how encompasses all

kinds of structures: steel framework, glass, canopies,

bridges, façades, pylons, etc.

FAYAT conçoit, fabrique et commercialise des matériels

pour la construction et l’entretien des routes. Sa gamme

de matériels routiers est la plus étendue du marché pour

produire et appliquer des enrobés, entretenir les réseaux,

recycler les routes, nettoyer les voiries.

FAYAT designs, manufactures and markets machinery for

road construction and maintenance. Its range of road-

building machines is the most extensive on the market for

producing and applying asphalt, maintaining networks,

recycling road surfaces or cleaning streets.

Concepteur et fabricant de matériel de manutention et

de levage (ponts roulants, tables élévatrices, monte-

charges…), FAYAT distribue ses produits à partir de ses

usines en France, en Turquie et aux Etats-Unis.

FAYAT designs and manufactures handling and hoisting

equipment (overhead travelling cranes, lift tables and

freight elevators, etc.), distributing its products from its

factories based in France, Turkey and the United States.

et fabriqués chaque année par FAYAT sur ses 4 sites de

production en France, depuis les réservoirs standards adaptés

aux utilisations les plus fréquentes, jusqu’aux solutions ad

hoc pour répondre aux besoins industriels spécifiques.

No fewer than 90,000 pressure vessels are designed and

built each year by FAYAT at its four production facilities

in France, ranging from standard tanks for everyday

uses to ad hoc solutions tailored to specific industrial

requirements.

Concrètement, FAYAT apporte des solutions environnementales danstous ses métiers :• Construction de bâtiments suivant les démarches HQE (Haute Qualité Environnementale), HPE (Haute Performance Energétique) et BBC (Bâtiment Basse Consommation) ; mise en place de démarches d’éco-conception.• Protection de la faune et de la flore, notamment à travers des partenariats avec le monde associatif et agricole.• Proposition de solutions innovantes comme l’épuration des eaux par filtres végétaux plantés, l’aménagement de bassins étanches par géomembrane, la dépollution des sols. • Développement d’offres pour les énergies renouvelables : conception et réalisation de fermes photovoltaïques, de centrales hydro- électriques, installation de massifs d’éoliennes…

• Conception et fabrication de matériels plus respectueux de l’environnement, réduisant la consommation d’énergie et les émissions de CO², optimisant l’emploi des ressources et repensant l’ergonomie : compacteurs de déchets, balayeuses alimentées au gaz naturel... • Proposition d’une offre pour le recyclage de la route.

True to the entrepreneurial values that have always guided thecompany throughout its history, Fayat is building its growthstrategy around the principles of corporate social and environmentalresponsibility and sustainable development. The Group is constantlyin search of the right balance between economic efficiency, respectfor the environment and social progress.

For example, the Group’s projects are conducted with carefulattention to the living environment and natural resources, and itscompanies work on creating environmentally-friendly places forpeople to live in. At the same time, active policies have beenintroduced for the induction, development and protection of thepeople working for the Group. Finally, the Group owes its sound finances to the careful manage-ment that has guided its growth since 1957.

servicing of the machinery will be

provided from the BoMAg technical

centres along the route of the new

railway line. in addition to the three

work packages won by rAzEL-BEc,

JosEph-pAris, pAiMBoEuf, frAnKi

also working on what is Europe’s

largest infrastructure project.

la réalisation d’un quai de 450 mètres, permettant

l’accueil de porte-conteneurs de nouvelle

l PTC ON A FLAGSHIP PROJECT INAFRICA

The company was called in to work on the

project to rehabilitate Africa’s biggest port, in

Lomé, Togo. Two vibrodrivers working at

depths of up to 18 metres were used on

construction of a 450-metre quay for new-

generation container ships.

l CHU DE BORDEAUX

CARI AquItAInE et SEg-FAyAt ont signé un

contrat pour la conception-réalisation du pôle

hépato-gastro-entérologie de l'hôpital Haut-

lévêque à pessac, pour un montant de 39 M€.

SEg-FAyAt réalise par ailleurs le pôle de

gérontologie clinique du CHu.

Adc delivered three overhead tra-

velling cranes to the Emirate of ras

Al Khaimah, near dubai, a brand

new contract for the company. The

cranes were built in parthenay and

delivered to the new glassworks of

saverglass, world specialist in luxury

bottles.

VINCI) l’ouvrage conçu par Herzog et de

Meuron et en particulier toute la charpente

métallique (12 000 tonnes d’acier produites

par CASTEL & FROMAGET, BARBOT, VILQUIN

et ACML) et les VRD (FAYAT TP).

contract for the creation of the sciences

po Euro-American campus on the site of

the former Jesuits’ school in reims. The

work includes the rehabilitation of

buildings, including some historic

ones, and construction of a new

building comprising a 600-seat

lecture hall and 5 floors of class-

rooms.

Les Halles CanopyIn Paris, the structure of the canopy over Les Halles is taking

shape. Built by CASTEL & FROMAGET, VIRY, BARBOT and

ACML, the 500-tonne glass canopy covers some 12,000m², comprising 6,224 glazing components, each of them different from all the others.

The project by architects Berger & Anziutti spans Paris’ largest shopping centre (150,000 clients each day) and busiest suburban train station

(800,000 passengers a day) which will be remaining in service throughout the work.

Total Tower benefitted from all the know-how

of viry, with painstaking attention to every

detail: the mezzanine, pylons, staircase,

cladding of the façades and glass canopies…

all break out into irregular geometrical shapes

inspired by the crystal form of the original

canopy. And the project was conducted while

the site was in use, just to add a little extra

complexity.

l LIFTING THE DOME OF THE RJHrAzEL-BEc performed the lifting

operation on the dome of the Jules

horowitz reactor built for the cEA in

cadarache (Bouches-du-rhône). The

contract includes the civil engineering

work for this research reactor. JosEph

pAris and coMèTE, meanwhile, have

delivered several pieces of equipment,

and notably a polar crane and its

track, intended for handling in the

core of the reactor and built in the

JosEph pAris workshops.
