Bienvenue au FIAF, the place to learn French in NYC!

Welcome to the 2011–2012 school year at FIAF, a year full of exciting new programs, classes, and opportunities for people of all ages to learn French. Choosing to join the more than 6,000 New Yorkers who learn French at FIAF each year means you will join a large and diverse network of students, and immerse yourself in a world of French language and culture. And yet, with an average of just nine students per class, our classes are small and our teaching style individualized and personal.

Our classrooms are high-tech, and outfitted with the latest in classroom technologies. Our teachers teach with SmartBoards™ (interactive white boards) and use the latest in digital textbooks and materials! These modern and innovative teaching tools increase language-learning efficiency and aid students in developing excellent communication skills.

FIAF’s teachers are highly trained experts in their fields and native speakers of French who come from French-speaking countries all over the world. All are certified to teach French as a foreign language, and all attend continuing education classes and workshops throughout the year.

At FIAF, you can truly engage with and absorb French culture. Having led programs around the world, I can say that the variety, quality, and vitality of FIAF’s programs, both in New York and New Jersey, are unmatched.

And now, as I embark on my fourth year as Director of the Language Center, the entire staff and I look forward to welcoming you to the FIAF famille—and to another great year of learning French!
