Do lintrt dun rseau de connexions faciles etrapides.

    * Service Level Agreement

NOS OBJECTIFS : RENFORCER NOTRE RSEAU ARIEN, POURSUIVRE NOTRE DIVERSIFICATION, LARGIR NOTRE ZONE DE CHALANDISE.

OUR OBJECTIVES: STRENGTHENING OUR ROUTE NETWORK, CONTINUING TO DIVERSIFY, AND EXPANDING OUR CATCHMENT AREA.

QUEL SERA LE VISAGE DAROPORTS DE LYON EN 2020 ? PHILIPPE BERNAND ET YVES GUYON SESONT PRTS CET EXERCICE DE PROJECTION DANS LE FUTUR.

  • Air transport went through an unprecedented crisis in 2009.How did Aroports de Lyon deal with this difficult context?

Y.G.: We managed to contain the impact of the crisis, with trafficfalling by only 2.6% (compared to a pan-European fall of 5.6%).This was due primarily to strong growth in the low-costsegment, which now contributes 18% of traffic at Lyon-SaintExupry. Despite this context we started several new routes, while Air Arabia opened a base at the platform; in early 2010,transavia.com said it would do likewise.

P.B.: The downturn affected traditional airlines and Europeanflights. All airports where the low-cost segment has growthpotential came through the crisis well. Aroports de Lyon wasable to exploit this potential.

How are you preparing for the future? What are the maingrowth drivers?

P.B.: We will continue to develop our route network throughlow-cost flights, with the aim of this segment reaching a 30%share within five years, and through the Air France hub, with anexpanded and more competitive offering. We are also looking atnew medium-haul destinations in Europe. The crisis hasbrought about big shifts in consumer behaviour, and thesemust prompt changes to our offering.

Y.G.: Our airports are less than two hours from an ever-wideningperimeter thanks to the TGV infrastructure, to the arrival of theRhine-Rhne TGV line, and to the Carex rail-freight project. Weare also continuing our push to diversify: our Management & Services subsidiary has signed its first contracts; and thedevelopment of our city-airport concept is progressing, notablywith the Airparc property venture.

What makes Aroports de Lyons offering stand out?

P.B: Quality is one of our major differentiators. The quality of ourwelcome through our Airport Helpers, who will reach 1,000 thisyear but also the quality of our services: a totally customer-centred

website, our expanding Privilys offering, and the development ofinnovation. We are also conducting a service-quality programmewith airlines using service level agreements, a new type ofcommitment that binds both parties. Our ambition is to join theQuality Top 10 of European airports within five years.

Y.G.: Ease of access is also a differentiating factor: Lyon-SaintExupry will soon be the only French airport with a dedicatedrail-transport service. From August 2010, the Rhnexpress tram will run between the central Part-Dieu station and Lyon-Saint Exupry in under 30 minutes. This link is part of oursustainable-development programme: ours is the only Frenchairport to have rolled out its national environmental plan in conjunction with a local action plan.

What is your vision for 2020? How has it changed?

P.B.: For our catchment area to expand, our TGV offering mustbe extended with, among other developments, the railnetwork in south-east France and a second Paris-Lyon linethrough central France. This high-speed rail offering, combined with an excellent road network, an express tram, ourcoach station and the Carex project, creates an intermodal hubwith strong development potential.

Y.G.: We want to make Lyon-Saint Exupry the second-biggestpoint of entry into France, with a strengthened long-hauloffering. Because of the airports proximity to the Alps, we offerthe best journey times to two-thirds of French ski resorts, compared to the other international airports. And we mustspread the word! The airports must also be viewed as thenatural point of departure for customers in all of south-eastFrance hence the appeal of a network of quick, easyconnections. More generally, the airport must support thedynamic development of the regions economy and its centresof excellence in high-value-added sectors, by facilitatinginternational trade.

HOW WILL AROPORTS DE LYON LOOK IN 2020? PHILIPPE BERNAND AND YVES GUYONENVISION THE FUTURE.
