I'm the main back end web developer, sys ad min, HTML email guru and fire fighter. That is to say that if there's a problem I'm usually called on to fix it. Projects have ranged from an elearning system made on top ofWordPress, converting a HTML only website to use a CMS, working on email templates (eDMs), and am usually working with a team of designers and other developers on large projects.

2012 - 2013 Ne>ctFaze Web Developer and SysAdmin

The resident HTM L5 and PH P web dev with Linux server skills. Dealing with Javascript 1 page apps through to Ruby on Rails powered API endpoints for mobile apps. Have worked on a wide variety of projects. From large multi-nationals to small2 man startups.

2010 - 2010 Adelaide Festival IT Admin and Desktop Support

Desktop support Helpdesk, and general IT helper in a corporate office running Active Directory and Lotus Notes.

2010-2010 ANAT Technology Officer

Technical support System admin, Mac OSX desktop support PHP programming, Bash scripting and more. Whilst there replaced the Windows file server with a Linux based one which worked much more reliably with their OSX desktops.

2006 - 2009 Internode Customer Service Officer

Over the phone Internet Helpdesk Support. Mainly dealing with ADSL and dialup issues, but covered everything from corporate DNS to explaining how to right click. Worked there for 3.5 years.

About Michael is an innovative geek who wants to change the world of education and help foster the renewables revolution.

He is a problem solver at heart who loves computers film making, photography and activism. He enjoys listening to audiobooks for hands free learning, especially when running 5 to 15km to keep fit.

His first foray into grass roots organisations was as the founder of the Zeitgeist Movement of South Australia, which lead him into helping with Occupy Adelaide. After reading the Beyond Zero Emissions plan for 100% renewable energy he joined CLEANSA and was part of the team who got the Pt Augusta community on board, starting the Repower Pt Augusta alliance and resulting in the 328km Wall< for Solar event which he not only walked, but filmed.

Professional Statement

Since reading the book Sophie's World in primary school Michael has had a passion for learning. He was involved in many extra-curricular activities, from jazz dancing to getting his Private Pilots License just after his 18th Birthday, at which point he could fly anywhere in Australia but couldn't drive himself to the airport. Michael isn't just a web developer and sys ad min, he has extensive skills in photography, film making, entrepreneurship and activism.

He ran a portrait photography studio at the Fishermans Warf Markets (in Pt Adelaide). Later at a film making event he was introduced to Entreprenureship and the MEGA program, later founding a number of startup companies including Films on the Fly which got a $35,000 development grant and Teacher Time which had a team of 8 people and won the first Sydney Startup weekend. He knows what it's like to manage many hats, from starting and running businesses to managing and working in large development teams.

When it comes to management he is usually working with fellow developers and designers so prefers to use the Intrinsic motivation techniques that are explained well in the book Drive, by Dan Pink.

2. BingBoy The BingBoy website was originally a set of static HTML pages. 3. GrandstandBar A custom coded website which shows feeds of various upcoming sports matches which will be shown on the screens in the bar.
