RWS rimfire cartridges have been competition winners for many years, successful at Olympic, International, Championships and Club levels. Competitors world-wide know that using R100 or R50 will give them the extra needed for a podium finish.

Not a bad batch: RWS rimfire ammunitionA characteristic of target shooting is that no two barrels are identical therefore, RWS rimfire calibre cartridges are available in various types. Despite the use of the best materials and greatest care during production there will always be slight differences, which influ-ence the accuracy of a shot. The tolerances within in a manufacturing batch of ammunition are extremely low but there are microscopic differences from batch to batch. The accuracy of the RWS smallbore ammuni-tion and the minimal differences from batch to batch

- only noticeable when shooting - enable the right ammunition for each barrel to be found. Therefore, experienced shooters have always selected the best RWS ammunition for their rifle barrel from different batches. When they have found the correct batch they stock up in sufficient quantity to avoid testing for some time. Following this practice of the top shooters will enable everyone to find the right ammunition for their rifle and thus improve their shooting performance.

Small rimfire informationWith centrefire cartridges the primer is centred in the primer pocket of the cartridge base and is linked to the propellant. With rimfire cartridges, however, the priming compound is pressed right into the rim of the base, therefore the name rimfire.

Manufactured using the most modern technol-ogy and streamlined production processes from initial concept to final quality assurance it is evident that, even with the small rimfire cartridge, that reliability and accuracy are paramount. To achieve this high level of performance all the components must fit together perfectly. For example:

• The bullet: its shape is perfectly developed and has a direct influence on the accuracy and the flat trajectory. By lubricating the bullet lead deposits in the barrel can be avoided. The bullet ensures the ideal ballistic characteristics and low wind sensitivity.

• The powder: must ignite immediately and burn evenly so that the same pressure is applied to every shot, therefore achieving identical trajectories.

• The precision in loading:The quantity of powder has to be exact and should not vary in the slightest otherwise the know-how and care invested by the experts in cartridge development and production would be wasted.

However, it is not only the cartridge that is continuously optimized to meet highest technical demands and inspection specifications. The design of the package has also been modernized and now displays an innovative character. Fascination biathlonRWS aims to win

No other sport shooting discipline generates more interest within the media than the biathlon during winter. In combination with physically demanding cross country skiing this sport is gaining in popularity.The shooting stops form the most spectacular appear-ances of the biathletes during the competition. In the midst of their cross country run they stop to fire several shots at a distance of 50m.It is hard to imagine how exact the physical and chemical reactions of both ammunition and system of the biathlon rifle must be in order to hit the target accurately. What is said in general terms under the heading of ‘rimfire cartridges‘ also applies here. However, the demand of biathletes for more precise and consistent ammunition is much higher than that of most target shooters. Biathletes can never be sure what wind and weather conditions they will encounter but at least they need not worry about the ammuni-tion when using RWS R 100. RWS airgun pellets are characterized by their particu-larily skilful material composition, the special surface finish and optimized weight. This guarantees outstand-ing precision values.

All RWS Match pellets are produced in the classic diabolo shape. Head design, tail section and the special form of pellet head plate are decisive factors for the optimum stabilisation of the pellet in the barrel and therefore also for sharply punched holes. RWS – the champions choice

The perfect combination of ammunition and rifle or pistol is decisive for the success of the target shooter. Therefore the requirements placed on the precision of competition barrels and ammunition are high, especially as each barrel has its own characteristics. Consequently it is important to match the competition barrel with different batches of ammunition, in order to find the optimal batch. For more than 20 years experienced target shooters have used the facilities of the RWS test shooting range at our factory in Fuerth to select the ideal target ammunition. We offer an unique service to our dealers to synchronise their clients’ weapons with the most suited RWS ammuni-tion.Ideal conditions:The test shooting range is indoors and the results are not influenced by the weather. Five separate lanes equipped with target transport systems and electronic targeting system are available, and testing is possible from the stock or by clamping the barrel at distances of 10, 15, 25 and 50 meters. The following sport weapons can be tested: • Air rifles• Air pistols and CO2 pistols • Pistols cal. .22lr, .32 S&W long • Smallbore rifles: .22 LR

There are two ways in which an order can be handled:The shooter either comes to the test shooting range in person, or she/he can have the guns sent to us through a dealer. Shooters coming from outside Germany will have to have made prior arrangements with their dealer and appropriate imported before orders can be accepted.The usage fee per weapon and the invoice for the products to be supplied will be delivered to the dealer in accordance with the general terms and conditions of sale and delivery.
