Egypte Source : GAFI-2016 Selon Echem, le secteur de la chimie/pétrochimie devrait apporter plus de 7 milliards US$ de recettes annuelles d'ici l'an 2022, produire environ 15 Mt/an de produits pétrochimiques, y compris l'urée et de l'ammoniac et créer environ 100.000 emplois. Gaz naturel L'usine de liquéfaction de gaz naturel située dans la Damiette Free Zone est considérée comme la plus grande du monde, avec 7,6 milliards de mètres cubes de gaz naturel par an. L'Egypte se classe parmi les 10 premiers pays qui utilisent le gaz naturel comme carburant automobile, avec plus de 150.000 véhicules GN et plus de 130 postes de ravitaillement et 73 centres de conversion entièrement équipés en plus de 11 stations en cours de construction au cours de l'année 2013. L'Egypte est aussi la première nation en Afrique et au Moyen-Orient pour ouvrir un centre de conversion et l'alimentation station de GNC public. L’Egypte se classe 12e dans les exportations de gaz naturel liquéfié dans le monde entier, ce qui a contribué à stimuler l'industrie pétrochimique. Engrais L’industrie égyptienne des engrais est l’une des plus compétitives du monde. Le gouvernement a accepté de permettre aux investisseurs étrangers de mettre en place des installations d'engrais phosphatés dans le pays. Les exportations ont atteint EGP 4706 mn en 2014. L'Egypte produit 10 Mt/an d'engrais à base de nitrate-phosphate à partir de huit usines. Le secteur dispose d’une offre abondante de matières premières à faible coût.

Toutefois, la production est limitée aux engrais phosphatés et aux nitrates. La surcapacité a conduit au développement d'un marché à l'exportation. Commerce extérieur Les exportations de produits chimiques et d'engrais ont atteint 4207 millions de dollars US en 2014, ce qui représente 19% des exportations totales. Les exportations égyptiennes de produits chimiques organiques et inorganiques, de matières plastiques et d’engrais ont atteint 3,37 milliards de dollars en 2014, selon l'Organisation générale pour les exportations et importations de contrôle (GOEIC). L’Egypte fournit des produits pétrochimiques à environ 30 pays dans le monde, l'Union européenne étant le plus grand marché pour les exportations égyptiennes (EGP 11090mn en 2014), ce qui représente environ 45% des exportations totales. Les produits en plastique sont l'un des principaux secteurs exportateurs, avec EGP 10754 M£EG en 2014. Malgré d'importantes réserves minérales, le pays est fortement tributaire des importations de produits pétrochimiques. Incitations aux Investissements Le gouvernement permet à des entreprises étrangères d’investir dans le secteur des engrais phosphatés, qui bénéficie d'une matière première à faible coût. Raffinage L'Egypte a huit raffineries d'une capacité totale de 775,835 barils par jour. L’estimation du Oil & Gas Journal est de 726,250 b/j. L'Egypte possède le plus grand secteur du raffinage en Afrique, devant le Nigeria, l'Afrique du Sud, et l'Algérie. Les deux centres de raffinage principaux du pays sont Alexandrie et Suez, qui en 2009 ont représenté 36% et 27% de la capacité totale de distillation de brut du pays. L'Egypte est l'un des marchés les plus importants pour les lubrifiants en Afrique et est le deuxième plus grand centre de raffinage du continent.

Zone », West Alexandria City. MIDOR est l'une des premières raffineries du Moyen-Orient conçue pour faire face aux normes environnementales

Misr Fertilizers Production Company – MOPCO (Egypte) (Source : GAFI-2016) MOPCO est l'une des entreprises du secteur pétrolier, située à l'intérieur de la zone franche de Damiette. Elle produit principalement de l'urée.

Une extension est en cours après l'obtention d'un financement de 1,05 milliards US$ des banques nationales et internationales (deux unités de

production d'ammoniac d'une capacité de 2400 tonnes par jour et deux unités de production d'urée de 3 900 tonnes par jour.

Sidid Kerir Petrochemicals Co ‐ Sidpec (Egypte) (Source : GAFI-2016) Le nom commercial des polymères vendus par SIDPEC est "Egyptene". Le portefeuille de polymères comprend du polyéthylène basse densité

linéaire (LLDPE) et du polyéthylène haute densité (HDPE). Sidpec utilise les dernières technologies disponibles afin de satisfaire à la

réglementation environnementale égyptienne.

Oriental Weavers – OW (Egypte) (Source : GAFI-2016) Oriental Weavers est un des principaux acteurs dans l la fabrication de tapis et de moquettes tissés. OW est un exportateur de premier plan et

de loin le plus grand acteur sur le marché égyptien. OW est la société phare du Groupe Orientaux, organisation multinationale qui intègre

plusieurs entreprises dédiées à la production de tapis tissés et moquettes, ainsi que des entreprises d'autres secteurs tels que la pétrochimie,

Alexandria Carbon Black - ACB (Egypte) (Source : GAFI-2016) AlexandrieaCarbon Black est une joint-venture indo-égyptienne du groupe Aditya Birla (Inde) située à Amreya près d'Alexandrie. C’est le seul

producteur de noir de carbone du Moyen-Orient et d’Afrique du Nord. Cette société possède une capacité de 285 000 tonnes - ce qui en fait

l'une des usines de noir de carbone les plus grandes du monde. ACB exporte 95% de sa production à plus de 30 pays du monde, y compris aux

Etats-Unis, Royaume-Uni, France, Allemagne, Italie et Espagne. Elle compte comme clients des acteurs tels que Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone

/ Firestone, Pirelli, Dunlop, Continental, ainsi que les sociétés locales Alexandrie et Trenco.

Spanish Egyptian Gas Company ‐ SEGAS (Egypte) (Source : GAFI-2016) Spanish Egyptian Gas Company produit du GNL à Damiette. Le complexe a démarré en 2004 et les exportations de GNL sont destinées au marché

espagnol via un terminal de réception situé à Sagunto. La majorité du gaz exporté est utilisée pour alimenter plusieurs centrales alimentées au

gaz «propres» en Espagne. Le complexe produisait initialement 5,5 millions de t/an (7,5 milliards de m³ /an) de GNL. L'investissement pour la

construction de l'installation initiale était de 1,3 milliard $.

ECHEM (Egypte) (Source : GAFI-2016) ECHEM a pour but de gérer et développer l'industrie pétrochimique en Egypte, à travers la mise en œuvre du Plan directeur national

« Petrochemicals » avec l'objectif de valoriser de façon optimale les ressources en gaz naturel dans des produits à forte valeur ajoutée. Le plan

comporte 24 projets et 50 unités de production au cours des 20 prochaines années.

The sector is expected to bring in more than USD 7 billion in annual revenue, produce around 15 million tons per year petrochemicals products

including urea and ammonia and create around 100,000 new jobs by the year 2022, according to the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding company

(Echem).

GNL

The natural gas liquefaction plant in Damietta Free Zone is considered the largest in the world, handling 7.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas

annually, The complex came onstream and the first cargo was loaded in January 2005.

Egypt ranks among the top 10 countries using natural gas as car fuel worldwide, with more than 150,000 NG vehicles conversion and more than

130 fueling stations and 73 fully equipped conversion centers in addition to 11 stations under construction during year 2013 ,

Egypt was also the first nation in Africa and the Middle East to open a public CNG conversion center and fueling station.

Egypt ranks 12th in liquefied natural gas exports worldwide, which has helped boost the petrochemicals industry.

Egypt has one of the world's most competitive fertilizer industries as the government agreed to allow foreign investors to set up phosphate

fertilizer facilities in the country. Fertilizers is one of top exporters sectors where as the exports reached EGP 4706 mn up to 2014 .

plants, Egypt has one of the world's most competitive fertilizer industries due to its abundant supply of low-cost feedstock

Total Exports of Chemicals and fertilizers reached 29.8 Bn. EGP up to 2014 which represent 19% of total Egyptian exports .

Egypt’s exports of organic and inorganic chemicals, plastics and fertilizers reached USD 3.37 billion in 2014, according to General Organization

for Exports & Imports control(GOEIC).

Egypt supplies petrochemical products to about 30 countries worldwide, with European Union being the largest market for Egyptian exports as

the exports to EU reaches EGP 11090mn to 2014 which represents about 45% of the total exports.

Plastic products subsector of petrochemicals is one of top exporters sectors where as the exports increased form EGP 8800mn in 2013 to EGP

10754 mn in 2014 .

Exports of Chemicals and fertilizers products reached 4207 Million USD up to 2014 which represents 19% of total exports.

Despite Egypt's substantial mineral reserves, the country is highly dependent on petrochemicals imports and the ambitious petrochemicals

'master plan' is partly aimed at balancing the country's trade deficit by way of improving exports and reducing the dependence on imports,

particularly for consumption of plastics, which is growing rapidly.

Incitations aux investissements

The government is allowing foreign firms to invest in the phosphate fertilizer sector, which benefits from low-cost feedstock.

Raffinage

Egypt has eight refineries with a total capacity of 775,835 barrels per day (b/d), according to company data. The Oil & Gas Journal (OGJ)

estimates capacity to be somewhat lower, at 726,250b/d. Even at this lower figure, Egypt has the largest refining sector in Africa, ahead of the

competitors Nigeria, South Africa, and Algeria. The country's two major refining centers are Alexandria and Suez, which in 2009 accounted for

36% and 27% of the country's total crude distillation capacity, respectively.

Egypt is one of the largest markets for lubricants in Africa and is the continent’s second largest refining center.

Middle East Oil Refinery‐ MIDOR (Egypte)

MIDOR is an Egyptian joint stock company established in 1994.

MIDOR Refinery is classified as a deep conversion refinery using the latest scientific and technological methods to suit the fluctuating market

needs, The refinery investment is almost US$1.4 Billion. It is located within Amerya Free Zone, West Alexandria City.

MIDOR is one of the first refineries in the Middle East that is designed to cope with the most demanding world environmental standards for

effluent treatment and product specifications.

Misr Fertilizers Production Company – MOPCO (Egypte)

MOPCO is one of the petroleum sector companies, located inside the free zone of Damietta. It produces Urea as a main product.

Work in MOPCO project expansion is underway after obtaining a finance that is (1.050) Billion Dollars from the national and international banks

although the recent economic conditions within Ouda German company as well as Petroget company to set up two units for producing

Ammonia of capacity that is (2400) tons per day as well as two units for producing Urea of capacity that is (3900) tons per day.

Sidid Kerir Petrochemicals Co ‐ Sidpec (Egypte)

The trade name of SIDPEC polymers is "Egyptene". The polymer portfolio includes linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and high density

the only producer of carbon black in the Middle East and North African region.

Established in 1994, it has now a 285,000 tons capacity - making it one of the world's largest carbon black plants at a single location and also

the fastest-growing carbon black company in the world. ACB also has the distinction of operating one of the largest production lines in the

carbon black industry globally. In less than 15 years the company has set new benchmarks by maintaining high standards and taking a

leadership position in the industries of Egypt, Middle East and North Africa.

ACB exports 95% of its production to over 30 countries across the globe including the USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, among

others. It's customer list includes global players like Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone/Firestone, Pirelli, Dunlop, Continental General Tires, apart

The Spanish Egyptian Gas Company ‐ SEGAS (Egypte)

The Spanish Egyptian Gas Company produces liquefied natural gas (LNG) complex in Damietta, Egypt. It is situated on the Mediterranean Coast

60km west of Port Said. The complex came onstream during the final quarter of 2004 and exports LNG to the Spanish market via a receiving

terminal at Sagunto in Spain. The majority of the gas exported is used to supply the new 'cleaner' gas-fired power stations in Spain. This LNG

project was the first facility of its type in Egypt and is one of the world's largest capacity single train facilities.

The complex initially produced 5.5 million t/yr (7.5 billion m³ per year) of LNG by air cooled refrigeration and fractionation. The complex

requires 270 personnel and production is around 600t/hr (24°C ambient air temperature).

Estimated investment for the construction of the original facility was $1.3 billion.

ECHEM (Egypte)

The Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) was established in January 2002 to manage and develop the Petrochemicals industry

in Egypt through new promising areas of investment.

ECHEM priority is to enhance the growth of Petrochemical industry through implementing The National Petrochemicals Master Plan with the

target of realizing the optimum utilization of natural gas in value added products. The Plan covers 14 complexes including 24 projects and 50

production units during the coming 20 years .
