The St. Charles County Ambulance District Training Center is located at 4165 Old Mill Parkway in St. Peters between the District’s HQ building and Ambulance Base 3. Old Mill Parkway runs parallel to Mexico Road, and is accessible from Jungermann Road and Cave Springs Boulevard.

Emergency Medical Technician Course Information Registration

Because class sizes are limited, advance registration is required for St. Charles County Ambulance District’s EMT program. In the past, this course has filled very quickly, so early registration is highly recommended. We will accept the first applicants, to capacity who turn in their registration form along with half the tuition payment. You can send in registration even if your immunization paperwork is not currently available (missing prerequisite paperwork will be due at orientation). Mail registration form and payment to:

Emergency Medical Technician Course Information

Course Meeting Dates & Times

Mondays & Wednesdays OR Tuesdays & Thursdays January 14 – May 15 January 15 – May 16

6 p.m. – 10 p.m. 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

*Some Saturday classes may also be necessary.

Course Prerequisites – please submit copies

Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification or Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

Current TB test (within past year) Hepatitis B and MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccination Current season’s Flu Immunization Proof of 18 years or older (copy of drivers license) Copy of high school diploma, GED or college transcript Copy of current health insurance card (Requirement for some clinical sites)

* IMPORTANT -- Please submit all required documents prior to OR at orientation! Students will not be allowed to attend the first night of class & will accrue absences until all documents have been received.

* EMT Refresher students must show proof of current CPR card, but will not need to resubmit vaccination verification.

Orientation – Saturday, December 15, 2012

Each accepted EMT student must attend a mandatory orientation session that will be held on, Saturday, December 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Students will be contacted to sign up for an hour time slot. At this time, students will complete paperwork, take pictures for ID’s, order shirts, receive textbooks and loaner ANSI II vests and make final payments. Proof of immunizations and other prerequisites are due at orientation. Call Becky Price at 636-344-7663 with any questions.

St. Charles County Ambulance District’s EMT Program provides students with a well-rounded learning experience, which includes classroom discussion, equipment practice, ride-along time with paramedics and in-hospital clinical hours.

Healthcare Provider CPR Requirement

Because a current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR card is a prerequisite for the Emergency Medical Technician program, we will be offering this course before EMT class starts.

Healthcare Provider CPR teaches students how to perform one and two rescuer CPR on adults, children and infants. In addition, the class addresses topics such as choking and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). When: Saturday, November 17, 2012 or Saturday, December 1, 2012 or

Saturday, January 5, 2013 (*Note price change $65 for class: $12 for the book)

Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Cost 2012: $55.00 for class; $12.00 for book (on-line

registration & payment required) Where: St. Charles County Ambulance District Training Center 4165 Old Mill Parkway St. Peters, MO 63376 To Register: Go to www.sccad.com under the “Education” Tab Registration deadline for the Healthcare Provider CPR class is one week prior to the date of the class.

Emergency Medical Technician Course Information Tuition, Books and Other Fees

Course fee is $1120.00, which includes tuition, drug screen, criminal record check, student liability insurance and a class shirt. The fee is $840.00 for members of Fire Districts under the Physician Advisory Board agreement. Hospital clinical requirements include a criminal record check (contact us felony program exclusion criteria), a drug screen and student liability insurance. Costs associated with all requirements are included in your tuition. Further information will be provided after you are accepted into the program. Current health insurance is recommended and is required for some clinical sites.

Required books are to be purchased and picked up at orientation. The book fee is $130.00. This includes the textbook, workbook, online Navigate package, & FISDAP testing. If you prefer to purchase books on your own, you will need the online Navigate Student package and FISDAP testing fees in addition to the books below:

Students will be required to wear an approved ANSI II Vest for ambulance clinicals. Loaner vests will be provided with a $25.00 refundable deposit upon return of the vest. Vest deposit is due at orientation.

Tuition for EMT Refresher Students is $415.00 plus book fees (if needed) as well as a class shirt fee. If a refresher student is participating in clinicals, fees for background check, drug testing and a vest will be assessed in addition to the tuition fee.

If you would like to pay your tuition in installments, please be advised of the payment schedule. Late fees may be assessed for past due payments. Payment in full must be received by the date of the orientation session.
