Sur le circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, un tracé spectaculaire et apprécié des pilotes, les débats seront animés tant la situation est serrée dans toutes les catégories.

For the first time this season, all four World Series by Renault competitions are on the bill: the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, Eurocup Megane Trophy and Eurocup Clio. At Spa-Francorchamps, a spectacular circuit and a firm favourite with the drivers, the action promises to be fast and furious, with the competition tight in every category.

HE HAS THE HOME ADVANTAGE, AND HE FULLY INTENDS TO USE IT.

1Tout commence par la Source, une épingle qui n’est pas spectaculaire mais

dont la sortie conditionne notre vitesse dans le Raidillon. À partir de la Source, c’est à fond jusqu’au freinage des Combes.

It all starts at La Source hairpin. It’s nothing spectacular, but the exit determines your speed through the Raidillon. After La Source you then go flat-out before braking at Les Combes.

3 Le deuxième secteur, de Malmedy à Stavelot est le

plus important. C’est là que tout se joue. C’est la partie la plus technique, avec des enchainements rapides et des virages en aveugle et en descente. Si on ne trouve pas le bon rythme ici, c’est un mauvais chrono assuré.

The second sector, from Malmedy to Stavelot, is the most important. That’s where it all happens. It’s the most technical part of the circuit, with fast sequences and blind, downhill corners. If you don’t find the right rhythm here, you’re guaranteed a bad lap time.

4 La dernière partie est de nouveau rythmée par de longues courbes à fond. Il faut bien sortir de Blanchimont pour espérer pouvoir tenter

un dépassement au Bus Stop. Ici on peut même doubler à l’extérieur !

The final part is again punctuated by long, high-speed bends. You have to get a good exit from Blanchimont to have a hope of trying to overtake at Bus Stop. Here, you can even overtake on the outside!

2 Il peut se passer beaucoup de choses aux Combes. On arrive à fond, il faut donc freiner pour un enchainement

étroit et rapide, qui se resserre au milieu. Ce qui est certain c’est que cela ne passe pas à deux ici et pourtant c’est là que l’on peut attaquer si on a bien profité du phénomène d’aspiration.

A lot can happen at Les Combes. You get there at full speed so you have to brake for a fast, tight sequence, which narrows in the middle. What is certain is that there’s not room for two cars through here. But at the same time it’s where you can attack if you take good advantage of the slipstream.

LE RENAULT VILLAGE SUR DEUX ÉTAGESRENAULT VILLAGE GETS A SECOND FLOORIl y aura encore plus d’animations dans le village de Spa ! En plus d’un centre d’essais Twizy, des expositions de gamme et de l’impressionnant Couloir du Temps, le XTrem Show fait son retour. Le son du camion DJ Red Bull animera l’espace dédié au Sport, où seront situés les simulateurs et le pit stop challenge. Pour ne rien rater, deux petits trains transporteront les spectateurs autour du paddock. Dans le village enfants, les structures gonflables et l’atelier maquillage et ballon accueilleront les plus petits. Enfin ne manquez pas le show Freestyle Football, un mélange de foot, de basket et de dance ainsi que les Belgium Speeders, d’impressionnants Freerunners, qui séviront en même temps que le Renault Sport Show.

There will be even more entertainment in the Renault Village at Spa. As well as a Twizy testing centre, exhibitions of cars from the Renault range and the impressive “Corridor of Time,” the XTrem Show also makes its comeback. The Red Bull DJ truck provides the soundtrack in the Sport area, where the simulators and Pit Stop Challenge can be found. So that nobody misses any of the action, two small trains will transport spectators around the paddock. The children’s village has inflatables, face painting and balloon workshops to keep younger visitors entertained. Finally, don’t miss the Freestyle Football show, a mix of football, basketball and dance. And be sure to catch the impressive Belgium Speeders free runners, who will be running wild at the same time as the Renault Sport Show.

CONCEPT CAR TO CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF THE ALPINE A110The Alpine Berlinette is celebrating its 50th birthday, and to mark the occasion, Renault has produced a new concept version of the car.

Known as the Renault Alpine A110-50, the concept is built with performance and driving pleasure in mind. The Alpine A110-50 was unveiled in Monaco, where it proved to be a big hit. The concept takes the most iconic design features of the original Berlinette and interprets them in a spectacular, modern way. Produced with the expertise of Renault Sport Technologies, the Renault Alpine A110-50 concept benefits from the experience gained from the Megane Trophy, sharing the same technical platform.

En s’imposant à deux reprises à Imola, Norman Nato s’est emparé de la tête de la Formula Renault 2.0 Alps. Le pilote RC Formula devance au classement général Daniil Kvyat et Paul-Loup Chatin.

By winning twice at Imola, Norman Nato took the lead in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps. The RC Formula driver sits top of the overall standings ahead of Daniil Kvyat and Paul-Loup Chatin.

Quarante-trois monoplaces seront finalement engagées en Eurocup FR 2.0. Parmi les six wild-card, notons la présence de Josh Hill, le fils de Damon Hill et celle de Steijn Schothorst qui défiera donc son frère ainé, Pieter.

The total number of cars entered into the Eurocup FR 2.0 has now reached 43. Notable among the six wild-card entrants are Josh Hill, son of Damon Hill, and Steijn Schothorst, who will be competing against his elder brother, Pieter.

Le Français Bruce Lorgeré Roux rejoint le peloton de l’Eurocup Mégane Trophy. Il revient dans une discipline qu’il connaît bien puisqu’il a terminé 5e en 2006, avec une victoire et cinq podiums.

Bruce Lorgeré Roux is to join the Eurocup Megane Trophy field. The Frenchman returns to a discipline he knows well, having finished fifth in 2006 with one victory and five podiums.

My favourite circuitThe Nürburgring. I won there in 2008 in the Eurocup Megane Trophy, and I wasn’t far off winning last year. It’s my lucky circuit.

My favourite driverKurt Mollekens. He was one of my brother’s friends. I met him when he was karting, and I’ve followed him throughout his whole career. Kurt has amazing talent. He was my idol, as he knows, and we swore that we’d do a race together one day – maybe the Spa 24 Hours.

My favourite filmThe Usual Suspects. The final scene, with the falling mug, is cult.

My favourite singer/bandAngus & Julia Stone, as they’re popular at the moment. And Coldplay.

The job I’d have liked if I hadn’t taken up drivingI’m not a professional driver; I have a transport company. So I’d like to have been a professional driver. I’d like to have started karting at the age of eight and be driving in the DTM today, having competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours several times with Tom Kristensen!

My favourite holiday destinationCorsica. At least, I hope it will be, as I’m going there for the first time in just a few weeks!

What I think of myself when I see myself on TVI hate my voice. If I accidently come across a report about me, I change channel immediately. Hearing myself is torture.

Mon premier coup de volantJ’avais 15 ans. J’ai conduit la voiture de mon père sans le lui dire, dans notre allée. Seulement j’ai remarqué que le voisin avait entendu le moteur. Alors je suis rentré en la poussant et c’est là que j’ai tapé le portail !

Mon circuit préféréLe Nürburgring. J’ai gagné en 2008 en Eurocup Mégane Trophy là-bas et ce n’est pas passé loin l’année dernière. C’est mon circuit fétiche.

Mon pilote préféréKurt Mollekens. C’était un ami de mon frère. Je l’ai rencontré quand il roulait en karting puis je l’ai suivi durant toute sa carrière. Kurt a un talent fou. C’était mon idole, il le sait et nous nous sommes jurés de faire une course ensemble un jour, pourquoi pas les 24 Heures de Spa.

Mon film préféréUsual Suspects. La dernière scène, avec la tasse qui tombe, c’est culte.

Mon chanteur / groupe préféréAngus & Julia Stone, car c’est à la mode en ce moment, et Coldplay.

Le métier que j’aurai aimé faire si je n’avais pas pilotéJe ne suis pas pilote professionnel, j’ai une société de transport. Donc le métier que j’aurais aimé faire, c’est pilote professionnel.
