A forgotten battle from the X-Mens past rages anew as the mutant

heroes fight to stop the Evolutionaries, strange beings intent on

committing human genocide in the name of mutant salvation!

Long ago, the mysterious Evolutionaries came to Charles Xavier and

his original X-Men with an offer: if Xavier promised to unite and

lead the mutant race, the Evolutionaries would eradicate thecompeting species, homo sapiens. When Xavier rejected their proposal,

the Evolutionaries made their offer to the X-Mens nemesis Magneto.

Tempted by the alien creatures proposition, Magneto retrieved a young,

institutionalized Emma Frost, whose telepathy he planned to use with

    Cerebro to unite all mutantkind.

Many years later, in the present, the Evolutionaries have returned, but

now they want to kill Cyclops, who they deem unfit to lead mutantkind.

As the only person who remembers the Evolutionaries first visit,

Cyclops raced against the clock to stop them, assigning the X-Mens

science geniuses the task of rebuilding a machine that could defeatthese unwelcome visitors. After a battle with other mutants struggling

to remember why they know the Evolutionaries, Scotts memories were

telepathically spread to all of Utopia, allowing everyone who was

present to remember that first encounter--including the man who

remains the Evolutionaries choice for mutant leadership, Magneto.
