Biomedical Ethics Committee of the IPT

Since 1992 this Committee is registered at the Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP) in the United States (number IRB00005445 registration FWA00010074) and committed to follow the Declaration of Helsinki for institutional medical research involving human subjects, including research on human material and personal data.

Process: review after request the protocols, objectives and methodologies to deliver authorization

Missions:- identify and ensure the minimization of associated with the

research, - identify the benefits that would bring this research, - ensure that potential subjects will be informed of a precise and fair

manner, risks or discomforts and profit for this research.

IPT Quality Program

• The Quality Assurance service was established in December 1998 for the implementation of a quality system covering the activities of development, production and control of vaccines and serums.

• In accordance with the memorandum of January, 2015, it established a Quality Management System Steering Committee (QMSC) at the Pasteur Institute in Tunis. It is called the "Committee Quality of the Pasteur Institute in Tunis."

Objectives:

- Maintaining the quality and development of the QMS approach;- Design and management of short and medium-term quality policy; and- Continuation of the accreditation process of involved laboratories.

Biomedical Analysis and Public Health activities

• 18 laboratories + 2 services (35 biologists): Cover the quasi-totality of clinical biology tests. IPT is recognized for the expertise of some of the laboratories in the specialized medical biology.

• IPT hosts several national (rabies, poliomyelitis, measles, bacteria, other) or international reference centers (for the Eastern Mediterranean Region/WHO: for poliomyelitis and measles, HPV)

• IPT is a center for vaccination (for the travelers) and a center for rabies treatment and vaccination (free).
