Morocco was the first country in the world to formally acknowledge the United States as an independent nation.

Morocco has been a loyal and indispensable American ally during these trying political times in the Magherb.

THE TREATY OF FRIENDSHIP

The moroccan sultan Mohamed III included America in a list of countries to which Morocco’s ports were open.The relations were formalized with the Moroccan American Treaty of Friendship signed by THOMAS JEFFERSON, JOHN ADAMS and MOHAMED III in 1786.

Morocco hosted one of the most pivotal meetings of the allied leaders in World War II.They discuss the economic development of morocco , its natural resources and Roosevelt ensured he would do all in his power to support Morocco's wish to be Independent of the French.

The USFTA is a bilateral trade agreement between the US and Morocco.The agreement was signed on 15 jun, 2004 but it comes into effect on 1 january 2006.It is aimed at increasing trade and creating new investment opportunities.

Free trade without limits can also result in very poor workmanship on exported goods and importfree trade economy may result in serious health risks and diminished consumer confidence in imported products

PERSPECTIVESThe port of Wilmington and the group of export " Morocco Fresh Fruit " had reached an agreement of five years concerning the import of the Moroccan clementine towards the North American market.The preservation of the port of Wilmington as hub of distribution in North America of the “Morocco Fresh Fruit ’’ Exports until 2017 , which must be marked by an increase estimated at 30 pc during the current season (October, 2013 - March, 2014).
