ELLE Fashion News Interview

ELLE: We’re very excited to be sitting down with you today. Let’s jump right in with an icebreaker shall we! If you could describe yourself in a sentence, what would you say about yourself?

I: A loving determined young man that's always looking to reach his goals on what he's truly passionate about!

ELLE: When did you realize your true passion was taking part in the fashion and beauty Industry?

I: In Mexico, I used to participate in a lot of behind-the-scenes of pageant shows. Back then, all my knowledge was self-taught and at pageant shows, I provided makeup artistry to beauty contestants. At the time it was something that I enjoyed a lot, but be-fore taking my true passion for beauty seriously, I enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu because my passion and ambitions were in the baking arts.

ELLE: Who influenced/influences you and help you realize your true calling? I: There were a number of things that helped influenced me to realize my true calling. Many artist who have developed their own Youtube channel such as Jaclyn Hill, and col-laborating with many photographers and models. As a matter of fact, it was the pace and atmosphere that differentiated between passions I’ve delved into that brought a sense of realization where I want in complete happiness.

ELLE: What experiences differed from your time in the kitchen to on set of a photo-shoot?

I: Don’t get me wrong, but everything in the kitchen felt so high pressured. I’m not say-ing that during a photoshoot it doesn’t feel like that too, but I with less amount of pres-sure and a lot more creative freedom I found my work on set of a photoshoot much more rewarding knowing I got to spend a little more time in perfecting a look.

ELLE: What was one project/photoshoot that you’ve worked on that you’ve enjoyed the most?

I: Collaborating with a very close friend of mine back in Mexico. It’s was very amateur, but everything was produced by me. Hair, make-up, styling, and photography was all done by me. The photos didn’t look one hundred percent professional, but it completely done in my creative direction and added to my portfolio. Truly a photoshoot I was most proud of.

ELLE:What made you want to Youtube?

I: I started watching them myself, it became an obsession and I felt like I wanted to do the same and do my take on makeup and teaching other people, since I always get asked questions about my makeup.

ELLE: On your downtime, any hobbies (fashion/beauty related or not) that you enjoy?

I: Does playing with makeup count? I love to walk into any nearby Sephora and test out a lot of products. The back of my hand is always a colorful palette, it’s unavoidable! I’m still in love with food so I love to cook and bake whenever I can, in a pressure free kitchen of course.
