Supplemental funding calls Gender mainstreaming (KIT) Value
chain-commissioned work by Technology Themes Cross-CRP linkages
Alignment with priorities of the CRPs
Gender mainstreaming Purpose: encourage more systematic
integration of gender into research planning, design and
implementation across the CRP. The intention is to stimulate
non-gender researchers and research managers to take the lead in
reviewing their research agenda, identifying entry points for more
careful and consistent consideration of gender, and initiating
activities that begin to exploit those entry points. Who is
eligible?: ILRI researchers other than members of the gender group,
currently leading activities under the L&F CRP. We encourage
them to include members of the gender group to be part of the
research team.
Gender mainstreaming Types of activities : Assessments of
opportunities for better integrating gender considerations into
technology development research Identification or adaptation of
methodologies to improve gender sensitivity of research approaches
and activities Case studies demonstrating the application of
methodologies to improve gender sensitivity in ongoing research
activities Activities that focus on capacity building among
partners may not be funded since the focus of this call is on
strengthening our internal capacity. Sourcing gender expertise:
Proposals are expected to be developed in consultation with ILRIs
gender team Funding: Proposal up to $60,000. We expect to fund up
to 8 proposals.
Strengthening links between discovery and delivery Flagship
Projects Purpose: empower the value chain teams to express demand
for how they would like to shape the involvement of the discovery
platforms to best support the value chain agenda Who is eligible?:
Value chain coordinators, on behalf of teams Types of activities:
for example: CRP staff from the discovery platforms design and
support technical studies that form part of the ongoing value chain
assessments Scoping studies to develop strategies and proposals for
developing technologies Proposal development with local partners
for field studies or technology development related to priority
constraints and best bets Funding: Each value chain has an
allocation of $38,000 in 2014 that can be dedicated to one or more
proposals. Funding is contingent on PPMC approval of the proposal.
Funding can support time of CRP staff from the discovery platforms,
but not for value chain staff.
Cross-CRP linkages Purpose: promote cross-CRP collaboration
through initiatives that clearly contribute to priorities of the
L&F CRP and the collaborating CRP Fund: Total $343,000,
individual proposals up to $100,000 Who is eligible?: Researchers
from the L&F CRP or the CRP targeted for collaboration Types of
activities : for example: Scoping studies, reviews or writeshops
for joint proposal development Joint activities that allow a
research product from one CRP to be trialed in or taken up by the
other CRP Joint activities that draw on expertise from both CRPs to
generate a joint product
