Strategy of intervention �  Create a green path that would link the area to Horsh Beirut

�  Recruit 30 youth from unprivileged neighborhoods

�  Fostering their teambuilding and community engagement

�  Increase awareness about the importance of public spaces

�  Train them on how to design, maintain and run public spaces

�  To maximize the usage of existing resources

�  Feeling of responsibility and ownership of these spaces within

the community

Detailed Scope �  Planning workshops (work on historical documents, maps, etc.)

�  Mapping of the monumental landmarks (mosque, university,

stadium, etc.)

Workshops

Workshops were held at the scouts of Al-Jarrah in Tarik El

Jdideh. Participants explored various documents, here is an

example of a comparison between a recent aerial

photograph and a historical map of the Arab University

Campus where the “sand prison” once stood.
