Des dizaines de montgolfières qui colorent le ciel à l’occasion
du Festival International de Ballons à Château-d’Oex, les skieurs
et snowboardeurs qui s’affrontent à Leysin lors du Giant
X Tour. Et ça, ce n’est qu’en hiver…

Château-d’Oex, snowboarders slip and
slide their way down the slopes at Leysin
for the Giant X Tour. And that’s
just winter ...

En familleau coin du feu
Tout le monde attend le bon moment pour allumer le premier feu
de l’année. Le feu est rassembleur. La cheminée est au centre de la
famille. C’est un lieu de partage et de rencontres, un endroit pour
se relaxer. Avec une tasse de chocolat chaud ou autour d’une
fondue, on peut y passer des heures. Que du bonheur.

Jetez-vous à l’eau
Assis à l’avant du raft, c’est vous qui décidez de la direction
à emprunter. Vous devez redoubler d’efforts pour des sensations
garanties dans les rapides de la Sarine au Pays-d’Enhaut. Vous en
voulez encore ? Sentiers VTT, sorties à cheval, ou initiation au
parapente vous attendent, sportifs confirmés ou téméraires.
Les jeunes aventuriers ne sont pas en reste. Plusieurs parcours
dans les arbres leur sont proposés au Parc Aventure à Aigle. A
moins qu’ils ne choisissent de dévaler la montagne à toute vitesse
au guidon d’une trottinette géante.

happens, so you have to work twice as
hard. After all, if you’re going to be active,
be really active. If rafting down the Sarine
at Château-d’Oex isn’t enough, we have
clifftop trails for hardy mountain bikers
and horse-riders, or paragliding schools for
the truly intrepid.
Junior adventurers enjoy the rope trails
through the treetops at Aigle, and the
giant-wheeled trottinettes, off-road scooters
that you ride back down the mountain
you just climbed.

wieder bergab sausen.

Située à une heure de l’aéroport de Genève, la petite ville
d’Aigle est la porte d’entrée de notre région. En voiture ou en
train, Leysin et ses environs sont accessibles en un clin d’œil. Il
faut à peine plus de temps pour rejoindre le Pays-d’Enhaut et
Château-d’Oex. Vivez l’expérience de la ligne Goldenpass depuis
Montreux ou Interlaken et faites de votre trajet une aventure.
Unexpectedly close. Reliably welcoming
Just an hour from Geneva Airport, the
small town of Aigle is the doorway to
the upland valleys and mountains of this
charming region. It’s a short train ride
or drive to Leysin and its surrounding
area, and then just a short hop to the
Pays-d’Enhaut. Or take the the famous
GoldenPass line from Montreux or
Interlaken, and make arriving even more
of an adventure.

Nur eine Stunde vom Flughafen Genf
entfernt liegt das Städtchen Aigle, das Tor
zu den Hochtälern und Bergen unserer
zauberhaften Region. Bis Leysin ist es
eine kurze Fahrt mit Zug oder Auto, und
von da aus ein Katzensprung ins Pays-
d‘Enhaut. Sie können auch die berühmte
GoldenPass Line ab Montreux oder
Interlaken nehmen und schon die Anreise
zum Abenteuer machen.

Les chemins pédestres en Suisse sont soigneusement préparés et
balisés. Il est donc facile de planifier sa balade et d’en
profiter. Ces marquages rouges et blancs indiquent que vous vous
trouvez sur un sentier de montagne.
Plus raides et étroits, ces sentiers sont aussi plus longs et
plus difficilement praticables. Votre effort sera bien souvent
récompensé au sommet avec un restaurant de montagne et une vue à
couper le souffle. Parce que vous l’avez mérité.
Walking routes in Switzerland are
carefully waymarked with distances and
times, so it’s easy to plan and enjoy a walk
almost anywhere. These red and white
dashes, though, mean you’re on a genuine
mountain path.
Steeper, rockier and all-round harder, they
are also higher and longer. That effort is
often rewarded with a cosy mountain
restaurant, atop a breathtaking view.

dass eine Tour leicht zu planen ist. Diese

Neige en toute liberté
Plus de temps sur les pistes et moins de temps dans les files
d’attente. Nous vous proposons des vacances à échelle humaine,
éloignées de l’agitation des grandes stations. C’est pour cela
aussi que de nombreux visiteurs viennent nous rejoindre, en train
ou en voiture, le temps d’une journée chaque hiver.
Pour ceux qui cherchent plus de calme, le plateau des Mosses -
La Lécherette est un paradis pour les adeptes de ski de fond et de
raquettes.
More time on the piste, less time in a
queue. Without the sheer volume of people
battling for space on the pistes and the lifts,
our resorts offer a more human winter
sports holiday. That’s why so many people
jump into a car or onto a train and head
up for the day each winter. Because really,
you just want to be out on the snow.
For more relaxing fun in the snow, try
Les Mosses - La Lécherette for cross-country
skiing or snowshoeing.
Mehr Zeit auf der Piste, weniger in der
Schlange. Auf unseren Hängen und Lifts
muss man sich keinen Platz erkämpfen,
und das Skifahren macht in unseren
Ressorts so richtig Laune. Deshalb steigen
hier viele gern mal spontan ins Auto oder
in den Zug, um einen schönen Wintertag
auf der Piste zu geniessen.

Tout un monde de traditions
La montagne a toujours favorisé l’artisanat. Les longs hivers et
l’absence de contacts avec l’extérieur incitaient les habitants à
imaginer, créer et parfaire leurs oeuvres.
Ces traditions perdurent aujourd’hui et particulièrement au
Pays-d’Enhaut, lequel compte une une étonnante concentration
d’artisans entre les villages de Rougemont et Rossinière. L’art le
plus renommé et représentatif est le découpage. Une vision unique
et folklorique de la vie à la montagne.
Mountainous areas have always
encouraged craftsmanship and artwork.
Long winters and limited access meant
that local people often spent much of each
winter carefully honing their craft.
These traditions continue to thrive,
particularly in the Pays-d’Enhaut, is home
to astonishing concentration of artisan
craftspeople between Rougemont and
Rossinière. The most remarkable are the
découpage artists, whose delicate works are
a unique insight into the rural life.

Un terroir au goût prononcé
Vous pourrez déguster chez nous les meilleurs plats
traditionnels : fondue et raclette en hiver ou chasse selon
la saison. La région héberge également l’un des premiers fromages
IGP de Suisse : L’Etivaz AOP, au goût si fruité et au lait parfumé
par la flore alpine.
Ne vous arrêtez surtout pas en si bon chemin. Vous trouverez de
nombreuses autres spécialités locales : fromages de chèvre ou
yoghourts faits maison, sirops aux herbes et fleurs sauvages.

All the classics are here, with fondue and
raclette as popular as ever on a chilly
winter’s night, and hearty game and fresh
fish on every menu in season. The region is
also home to one of Switzerland’s premier
cheeses, the gloriously nutty l’Etivaz.
Look closer, though, and you’ll find artisan
goat’s cheese and sheep’s yoghurt, and
aromatic syrups with mountain herbs
and wild flowers. Delicate, unexpected,
and delicious.
