Het is officieel verboden om direct aan te sluiten op de weerstanden (waarbij de ther-mostaat wordt overgeslagen), dit is namelijk gevaarlijk, omdat de temperatuur van het water dan niet meer begrensd wordt.

Een apparaat dat mogelijk schade heeft veroorzaakt moet niet verwijderd worden voor de komst van schadedeskundigen; het slachtoffer van de schade moet zijn verzekering waarschuwen.
