I will not give a summary report of the different results discussed in this meeting, most of which are interesting both from the experimental and theoretical sides. I wish only to notice that there are still intense activities in QCD and there are growing numbers of young physicists working in the field, which is encouraging for the future. We also had, this year, the interesting colloquium on the historical developments of the asymptotic freedom in QCD, with the exceptional participation of Professors Gerard ‘t Hooft and David Gross, who I would like to thank on behalf of the organizing committee. It is now the time to close the QCD98 meeting and to prepare the next QCD99, being the last conference of this series for the 20th century. Before concluding, I wish to thank: The staffs of the local organization who have produced a lot of efforts for making the successful organization of this meeting, especially for the social events; The different participants who have cooperated for the success of the meeting and the different sponsors (European Commission, Mairie, District and University of Montpellier) for their financial support. Finally, I hope that most of you have enjoyed their stay in Montpellier, and that the meeting has been of benefit for your own research. If this is the case, then, I may expect that most you will be among our regular traditional participants, and that you will come back again next year. Thanks again to all of you, and let’s wish for the success of the next QCD99 meeting, which will be held from 7-13th July 1999 at the Corum of Montpellier.
