- Sprinkle Carbopol Ultrez 21 over water, leave to hydrate. - Under mxing, add glycerin, butylene glycol and Satiaxane CX 91, then heat to 75°C. - Heat B to 75°C. - Under rapid mixing (rotor/stator 2000 rpm) add B to A. - Maintain this rapid mixing for about 5 min. - Add phase C, continue rapid mixing for about 5 min. - Add phase D, continue rapid mixing for about 5 min. - Cool under moderate mixing and at about 35°C, add E.

Procedure:

1. PART A: Sprinkle Carbopol®* Ultrez 20 Polymer on the surface of Deionized Water. After the polymer has thoroughly wet-out, mix at low speed.

2. Add Novemer™* EC-2 Polymer and mix until uniform.

3. Add Schercemol™* NGDO Ester and mix with vigorous agitation. Mix until uniform.

4. Add the remaining PART A ingredients and mix until uniform.

5. PART B: In a separate vessel, mix PART B ingredients until uniform.

6. Slowly add PART B to PART A with rapid mixing. Mix until uniform.

1. Combine PART A ingredients. Mix until uniform.

2. Add Glydant® Plus Liquid to batch with mixing. Mix until uniform.

3. Add Novemer™* EC-2 Polymer with mixing. Mix batch until polymer has fully hydrated. Adjust mixing speed as needed to maintain good vortex. Mix until uniform.

4. Add PART D ingredients individually to batch with good mixing in between additions. Mix until uniform.

This milky white emulsion is formulated with Pemulen®* TR-1 Polymer as the primary emulsifier. SilSense™* DW-18 Silicone serves to reduce particle size and improve emulsion stability. The overall low level of emulsifier makes this ideal for use on sensitive skin. In addition, the silicone ester helps to improve conditioning and sensory properties of the formulation.

Procedure: 1. PART A: Disperse Pemulen™* TR-2 Polymer into deionized water at

room temperature.

2. Add PART B ingredients in order to PART A. Mix until homogeneous.

3. In a separate vessel, combine PART C ingredients.

4. Add PART C to PARTS A and B.

5. Homogenize (use Ultra Turrax for 30 seconds) / neutralize with Triethanolamine immediately.

6. Stir slowly. Add PART E.

This easy-to-formulate, PEG-Free emulsion is a starting point formula for baby wipes. Glucate™* DO Emulsifier, a vegetable-derived emulsifier, is combined with Pemulen™* TR-2 Polymer and Coco-Glucoside to afford efficient co-stabilization in a simple cold process. Schercemol™* 1818 Ester, also derived from vegetable sources, provides emolliency and a soft afterfeel to this emulsion for gentle, yet effective cleansing wipes.

Procedure: 1. PART A: Add Glycerin to Deionized Water.

2. PART B: add ingredients 3-6 in a separate vessel. Disperse Pemulen™* TR-2 Polymer into oil phase.

3. Add PART B to PART A. Mix for 20-30 minutes to allow the polymer to swell.

4. Neutralize batch with Sodium Hydroxide (5%). Mix vigorously until uniform.

5. Add Coco-Glucoside. Mix slowly to avoid air entrapment.

6. Add preservative (ingredient #10). Mix until uniform.

7. Dilute with Deionized Water. Mix until uniform.

Operating Instructions

- Under rapid mixing, add Makimousse 25 to water of phase A heated to 75°C, maintain rapid mixing for about 10 min. - Heat phase B to 75°C. - Under rapid mixing (Rotor/Stator 3000 rpm), add B to A. - Maintain rapid mixing for about 10 min. - Cool under mixing and at about 35°C, add the ingredients of phase C. - Complete cooling.

This toner is ideal to be used after the skin is washed and before using other cosmetic preparations. It tones and relaxes the skin with its refreshing, moisturizing and nourishing properties. Pemulen™* TR-2 polymeric emulsifier offers excellent stability to this low viscosity milky toner with 6% emollient esters. The distinct emulsification property of Pemulen™* TR-2 polymeric emulsifier contributes to the watery refreshing burst as the toner is being applied on the skin and also offers a non-tacky, low-residue afterfeel. The combination of Schercemol™* NGDO, SHS, 318 and DISD esters, offers a cascading emolliency which leaves the skin with a cushiony, smooth feel. This combination of esters also aids skin hydration and prevents skin dryness by replenishing the lipids that are removed by frequent washing.

Procedure: 1. PART A: Add all the ingredients to the main vessel, heat to 48~52°C with

gentle mixing. 2. Disperse Pemulen™* TR-2 polymeric emulsifier in PART A. Mix until

uniform with no lumps maintaining temperature of 48~52°C. 3. PART C: In a side vessel, dissolve Disodium EDTA in the solution of

Deionized Water with mixing @ 45~50°C. 4. Add PART C to main batch with mixing, maintaining temperature of 48~52°C.

Mix until uniform. 5. Mix batch at high speed for 10 minutes, while maintaining temperature of

48~52°C. 6. Cool batch to 40°C with mixing. 7. Neutralize batch with Sodium Hydroxide (18%) with high speed mixing. Mix

until uniform. 8. Decrease mixing speed and continue cooling to 35°C. 9. Add ingredient 9 to batch with mixing. Mix until uniform.
