PRAYERS
Prayer of the Faithful *+*+*+*
Let us present our needs and the needs of the world to our loving God who responds to prayer from faithful hearts. For our Church as we continue to reveal God’s life-giving message to all who are afflict-ed, let us pray to the Lord.
For our national leaders to uphold the value of every life; for those impoverished, those in prisons, and those who endure racial and ethnic prejudice and hatred, let us pray to the Lord. For doctors, nurses, and all health-care workers as they tend to the needs of those in their care, especially those suffering from COVID-19, let us pray to the Lord. For our community to continue to grow in faith and so bring Jesus Christ’s healing love to all those around us, let us pray to the Lord. For those who serve in our armed forces, and for their fam-ilies and loved ones, let us pray to the Lord. For all those who are sick, for all who suffer from COVID-19, and for all who have died, let us pray to the Lord. For all the prayers that we hold in the silence of our hearts; for all our intentions spoken and unspoken, let us pray to the Lord.
O God of life, again and again you change our mourning into dancing. Be with us now as we make these prayers, and graciously grant them according to your will, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

SAINT BARBARA’S PARISH NEWS
FIESTA DE LA FE Pan
Comer o no comer. ——Miguel Arias, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
JESUS’ EXAMPLE OF HELPING OTHERS
In today’s second reading Paul offers a wonderful argument to his converts at Corinth for seeking to help those in need. He is dealing with a practical problem, arranging a collection for the poor of the church of Jerusalem; but as he often does, he devel-ops an important teaching about Jesus to make his point. After asking that they show their faith by generous gifts, he reminds them of the ―gracious act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich‖ (2 Corinthians 8:9). In the Incar-nation our Lord assumed our human nature, certain-ly becoming poor for one who is God. The ultimate gracious act of this poverty was going to the cross with all its terrible sufferings. By this act of poverty we definitely become rich. Now our sins can be for-given; we can share in the very life of God through the sacraments; we can attain eternal salvation! Copyright © J. S. HIỆU LỰC ĐỨC TIN “Con gái ông chết rồi, làm phiền
Thầy chi nữa.” (Mc 5,35)
*Suy niệm: Mặc những lời phê phán, can
Amen. Thanhlinh.net
