AU FIL DU TEMPS, FREMAUX DELORME

En 1845, Ernestine Fremaux et son mari fondent, au cœur de la région de l’industrie textile près de Lille, une entreprise de tissage de lin.

Au fi l des générations, le groupe se développe en diversifi ant ses activités jusqu’à produire des fi ls et des toiles à draps, des jacquards et même des tissus pour l’habillement.

C’est la vision de Dominique Fremaux qui, dans les années 1980, fera du groupe ce qu’il est aujourd’hui : lorsqu’il choisit, par intime convic-tion, de s’adresser directement au client fi nal en ouvrant des boutiques et de se recentrer sur le linge de maison de luxe.

Ce positionnement et cette recherche permanente de l’excellence per-mettront à la Maison de se développer dans le monde et de devenir la première maison internationale de linge de maison de luxe française.

En 1995, il existait 45 boutiques Yves Delorme, il y en a à ce jour 450. Une autre étape importante et symbolique pour Dominique Fremaux a été, en 2001, l’entrée de la marque au Comité Colbert, temple du luxe et de l’art de vivre à la française : c’est le signe que la stratégie et le travail effectué depuis plus de 20 ans ont porté leurs fruits, établissant la marque au cœur du l’univers du luxe français.

En 2002, le groupe Fremaux Delorme est créé avec pour ambition d’aller plus loin dans le développement d’une stratégie du luxe qui se veut accessible, d’installer de nouveaux concepts, de suivre la tendance et de privilégier la création. Aujourd’hui, la chaîne est complète, de la création à la distribution, en passant par la fabrication avec un sens de la perfec-tion, de la noblesse des matières et une exigence de fi nition proche de la Haute Couture.

Over time, Fremaux Delorme

The story of the Group Fremaux Delorme begins in 1845, and is a true tale of a family endeavor. Ernestine Fremaux and her husband founded a linen weaving company in the heart of the textile industry, near Lille. Over generations, the group developed by diversifying its activities, to include the production of threads and canvases for linens, jacquards and even fabrics for the clothing industry.Under the stewardship of Dominique Fremaux, the Group has become what is it today: when he chose, by intimate conviction, to address the consumer directly by opening store, it was to recenter the brand in a luxury position in home linens. This positioning and permanent research for excellence allowed the group to develop internationally and to become the top French luxury brand for home linens.

In 1995, Yves Delorme had 45 boutiques, which has grown today to 450! Another important and symbolic phase for Dominique Fremaux was in 2001, with the entry of the brand in the Comité Colbert, the temple of luxury and French “art de vivre”: the sign that 20 years of work and strategy had come to fruition; establishing the brand at the heart of the world of French luxury brands.

La création, la marque, le retail et l’international sont les piliers sur lesquels Dominique Fremaux a su développer le groupe familial au savoir-faire textile incomparable.

Aujourd’hui, “notre force réside dans la conception de nos collections et dans la qualité de notre distribution” précise t’il. C’est sans doute la raison pour laquelle il est si impliqué dans ces sujets. Quand on lui demande quelles sont les clés du succès, il répond sans hésiter “les produits et les hommes”.

Cette histoire de famille, d’hommes, n’est pas près de s’arrêter, la nouvelle génération est désormais présente. Amaury, 37 ans, évolue dans le groupe depuis 2003 et en est le Directeur général. Quant à Alban, 32 ans, il dirige les fi liales de distribution chinoises et japonaises.

L’avenir d’Yves Delorme se construit avec la 6e génération Fremaux, par la transmission de l’esprit de la Maison, du savoir-faire, et du partage de la modernité.

In 2002, the Group Fremaux Delorme was created, with the ambition to develop a fuller luxury strategy; newer concepts, and to follow design trends and to privilege research. Today, the technical chain is complete; from the conception phase to distribution, passing by production with a sense of perfection. This refl ects the nobility of materials and the requirement of attention to details that mirrors Haute Couture.

Creativity – Brand Development – Retail Environment - International Presence are the pillars upon which Dominique Fremaux developed his Group with an extraordinary savoir-faire in the textile industry. Today, “Our strength lies in the concepts of our collections and in the quality of our distribution,” states Dominique; which is most likely why he is very dedicated to these particular subjects. When asked what is the key to his success, he answers, without hesitation, “our products and our people”.And this family story is not over, because the new generation has arrived.Amaury Fremaux, 37 years old, has evolved with the group since 2003 and is currently the Director. As for Alban Fremaux, 32 years old, he is the director of the subsidiaries in Japan and China.

The future of the brand is thus constructed with the 6th generation of Fremaux, upon the spirit of the transmission of knowledge and savoir-faire and upon shared modernity.

Following the thread of Collections

It all begins with a thread of silk or cotton, stitched or embroidered, the essential structure of textiles and the result of the transformation of plant fi bers into wovens.

Then, the thread, as a dynamic and graphic wave, animating a surface.

Next, the thread of a story as in Toile de Jouy, homage to a historical textile tradition.

Or, the thread following the curves of the Tokaïdo Road in Japan, at the origin of the woodblock prints by Hiroshige during the era of Edo.

Or yet still, the red thread reminiscent of the Opera to celebrate the holidays…

L’ATELIER D’HAUBOURDIN

Nos ateliers d’Haubourdin, près de Lille capitale des Flandres, sont spé-cialisés dans la confection et la fi nition du linge de lit. Chaque jour, près de 100 personnes préparent, coupent, cousent, brodent et plient taies d’oreiller, draps, housses de couette, couvre-lits…

Le niveau de qualité est contrôlé à toutes les étapes pour répondre à la qualité exigée par nos clients, c’est aussi cela la fi erté de l’atelier et de la Maison Yves Delorme.

Following the Thread of Creation Across Inspirations

The brand Yves Delorme, since the beginning of its journey has been inclined towards creation, a passion for products, as well as for poetry and amazement.

Beginning of course with Mr. Yves Delorme, the original designer of the brand who fi rst collaborated with couturiers such as Pierre Cardin in the 70s, in particular in the domain of bath linens… always infl uenced by research for perfection, colour and form for the bathrobe. Later, with the merger Fremaux Delorme, he passed the torch on to Mme Évelyne Julienne, designer in interiors, jewelry and art de la table. Évelyne became the inspiration and creation of the new brand Yves Delorme for over 20 years. Her marvelous hand guided us through the most magnifi cent gardens, and encouraged us to dream of exotic and far-away destinations. She left the mark of her style, gentle and poetic, while weaving these seasonal tales that, bit by bit were diffused across the globe in France and Europe, The United States, Japan, Russia and Australia.

Évelyne, now desiring to fully dedicate herself to her artistic vocation, will now pass the torch onward to Mme Laurence Rouet, while inspiring her with her passion, her love for well-elaborated products and for the creative process. Laurence knows quite well the world of home lifestyle, having collaborated at length with Fremaux Delorme through the licensee, Kenzo. Laurence will trace her contemporary journey certainly differently, reinforced by the two years spent with Évelyne, and while lending her eye for fashion and her personal engagement!

LA CRÉATION AU FIL DES INSPIRATIONS

La marque Yves Delorme a été portée depuis son envol par la création, la passion des produits, la poésie et l’émerveillement.

Ce fut d’abord Monsieur Yves Delorme, bien sûr. Premier réel créateur, en particulier dans le domaine du bain, premier à collaborer avec des couturiers, dont Monsieur Pierre Cardin, dans les années 1970. Toujours porté par le souci de la perfection, de la couleur et des formes pour les peignoirs.

Plus tard, avec le rapprochement Fremaux Delorme, il passera le fl ambeau à Madame Évelyne Julienne, déjà créatrice, notamment dans l’univers de la chambre, mais aussi en bijoux et art de la table.

Pendant plus de 20 ans, Évelyne a été à la fois l’inspiratrice et la créatrice de la marque Yves Delorme. Sa main merveilleuse nous a entrainé dans les plus beaux jardins, nous a fait rêver d’exotisme et de voyages. Elle a imprimé son style doux et poétique en nous racontant, à chaque saison, une histoire qui, peu à peu, s’est diffusée dans le monde entier, de la France aux États-Unis, de l’Europe au Japon, de la Russie à l’Australie.

Évelyne, souhaitant se consacrer entièrement à sa vocation artistique, a récemment laissé à Madame Laurence Rouet le soin de poursuivre la création de la Maison Yves Delorme, en lui insuffl ant sa passion, son amour du produit parfait, fruit d’un long travail créatif. Laurence connaît bien la Maison, car elle a longtemps collaboré avec Fremaux Delorme à travers la licence Kenzo. Elle va tracer “sa” Route, certes différente, celle de son époque, tout en bénéfi ciant des deux années passées avec Évelyne, et en apportant sa touche mode et son engagement !

The Belmont factories,

which specialise in wearing toweling, are situated in the centre of France, near Roanne. Wearing is carried out in a modern factory with 20 machines which ensure the production of our jacquard towel-ing. Packaging and quality control are carried out at Roanne. About 40 specialists are involved in the manufacture, from mastering the weave to making the fi nal product according to its particular design.

Les ateliers de Belmont, situés dans le centre de la France, près de Roanne, sont spécialisés dans le tissage d’éponges.

L’atelier moderne est composé de 20 machines qui permettent d’assurer la production de nos éponges jacquard, fabriquées avec les fi bres les plus nobles. Notre savoir-faire permet la création de parures coordonnées aux thèmes de linge de lit.

Environ 40 personnes spécialisées travaillent ici, maîtrisant à la fois les armures jusqu’à réalisation du produit fi ni, tel que voulu par le style de chaque saison.

En 2015, la Route du Linge c’est bien sûr l’écho à la Route de la Soie, aux rêveurs d’ailleurs, aux aventuriers de l’excellence qui partaient, il y a bien longtemps, sur les routes pour rechercher l’étoffe ultime.

C’est aussi le souvenir joyeux de ces pionniers du groupe qui sont partis à la conquête de l’ouest pour découvrir un marché très différent et pro-poser une nouvelle vision du “French Art de Vivre”. Ceux aussi partis au pays des soleils levants pour rencontrer de nouvelles cultures et implanter durablement la marque dans les paysages locaux du Luxe à la française.

La Route du Linge, c’est tisser le lien entre tous les “hommes” du groupe, ceux des manufactures, des ateliers, des bureaux, des boutiques, dans les sept pays d’Europe que nous traverserons, et avec tous les autres grâce à notre blog “La Route du Linge”.

The Linen Road

In 2015, the Linen Road is the echo of the Silk Road, of dreamers of far-away lands, of adventurers in search for excellence and who, ages ago, wandered along these roads in search of the ultimate fabrics.

It is also the joyous memory of these pioneers of our brand who ventured out to conquer the West and who discovered a unique market in which to offer a new vision of the French luxury lifestyle. It is also those who journeyed towards the Oriental lands of the rising sun towards new cultures to sustain-ably establish the brand in local markets, eager for French luxury products.

The Linen Road is also to weave together all of the individuals of the group; manufacturers, studios, corporate offi ces, boutiques… in the seven European countries that we will cross and then showcase on our blog, “The Linen Road.”

The Linen Road is in sum, the desire to share our love for beautiful linens, our savoir-faire and our Yves Delorme spirit.

UNE BELLE OCCASION POUR RÊVER À 2075

En 2075 : Yves Delorme est au cœur de la nuit de ses clients.

Malgré les progrès technologiques et médicaux, les hommes ont toujours besoin de dormir, de rêver, de se ressourcer. Le temps est devenu une valeur toujours plus précieuse, chacun souhaite utiliser au mieux le temps imparti au sommeil pour le mettre à profi t de son développement personnel.

Dans ce cadre, entre Peau d’âne et le Cinquième Élément, Yves Delorme tisse des draps comme se tissent les rêves.

Le drap est devenu vivant, sensible. Il se préoccupe de notre bien-être : il diffuse des huiles essentielles. Comme la robe aux couleurs du temps, le drap prend la couleur de notre temps intérieur : il refl ète nos émotions. Dynamique, lorsque le besoin se fait sentir, il s’enroule autour du corps pour le rassurer. En d’autres circonstances, il peut devenir une mer fl ottant sur le corps.

Comme la pellicule argentique, le drap révèle nos rêves au petit matin ; il est possible de les enregistrer, de les partager ou de les laisser s’effacer.

S’essuyer le visage avec une éponge sensible pour se “laver” de ses soucis de la journée est un luxe que chacun souhaite s’offrir : les éponges absorbent les problèmes, soignent le corps en l’adoucissant, en l’hydratant, en le calmant ou en le dynamisant.

Le linge de maison est plus que jamais au cœur de notre intimité.

Il ouvre aussi vers les autres lorsque les nappes se parent de messages de bien-venue pour accueillir les convives, ou des couleurs de la campagne ou de la mer pour accompagner les mets servis.

En 2075, dans les ateliers Yves Delorme, les ouvrières donnent toujours la touche fi nale des produits à la main, ajoutant au travail des machines de haute technologie, ce supplément d’âme et ces techniques éprouvées par le temps qui permettent “de tisser les rêves au mieux”.

A Beautiful Occasion to Dream 2075

It is the moment to imagine what the brand could offer to clients in the future.

In 2075: Yves Delorme is at the heart of the nocturnal life of its clients.

Despite technological and medical progress, individuals still need to sleep, to dream and to revitalize. Time has become an even more precious asset, as we attempt to best utilize the time allotted to sleep and to the benefi t of personal development.

In this framework, between Donkeyskin and The Fifth Element, Yves Delorme weaves linens as complex as dreams.

Bed linens have become alive and sensitive. They are aware of our well-being: they diffuse essential oils.

Like the robe of many colours, bed linens takes on the colour of our interior: they refl ect our emotions.

Dynamic, when needed, bed linens swathe themselves around us in a gesture of comfort.

In other circumstances, they could become a sea fl oating on the body.

As with silver fi lm, bed linens reveal our dreams in the morning; it is possible to record them, share them or simply erase them.

To dry one’s face with a sensitive towel to “wash away” the stress of the day is a luxury within reach: towels absorb stress, care for the body with gestures of softening, hydrating, calming or stimulating.

Home Linens are more than ever at the heart of our intimacy.

They embrace otherness when table linens don welcome messages to guests, or the colours of the countryside or seaside to accompany the dishes that are served.

In 2075, in the Yves Delorme studio, designers still place fi nishing touches by hand, adding to the work done by precision instruments, this component of the soul, these time-weathered techniques, allow-ing for the ultimate experience in weaving dreams.
