C’est la ville de Bamako, capitale du Mali affectueusement appelée la ville aux trois caïmans, jonchée aux pieds des col-lines du pouvoir et du savoir qui abritera, du 11 au 16 février 2018, le prochain congrès de l’Association Africaine de l’Eau sur le prestigieux site du Centre International de Conférence de Bamako situé sur les berges du Fleuve Djoliba. Environ 2000 participants venus de toutes les contrées du monde sont attendus à cet événement majeur qui se tient pour la première fois au Mali. Le congrès de Bamako qui mobilisera les élus communaux, les femmes et les jeunes, sera le déclic pour un sursaut africain afin d’accélérer l’accès des populations afri-caines en eau potable et en services d’assainissement, dans un contexte de changement climatique.Deux ans après le 18ème congrès de l’AAE tenu au Kenya en 2016, le comité malien, composé de la SOMAGEP-SA et de la SOMAPEP-SA, a à cœurs de relever le pari d’une organi-sation irréprochable et à défendre la réputation du pays du « Diatiguiya », le pays de l’hospitalité. Tous les soins seront mis à l’organisation du 19ème congrès de notre Association, pour que les délégués en gardent un souvenir inoubliable.

It is the City of Bamako, the capital of Mali affectionately called the city of the three caymans, littered at the foot of the hills of power and knowledge which will house, from February 11 to 16, 2018, the next congress of the African Water Association (AfWA) on the prestigious site of the Hôtel de l’Amitié ex SOFITEL HOTEL and UN headquarter in Mali. Around 2000 participants from all over the world are expected to attend this major event, which is being held for the first time in Mali. The congress in Bamako, which will mobilize local elected repre-sentatives, women and young people, will be the trigger for an African start to accelerate the access of African populations to drinking water and sanitation services in the context of climate change.Two years after the 18th AfWA Congress held in Kenya in 2016, the Malian committee, composed of SOMAGEP-SA and SOMAPEP-SA, has the heart to take up the challenge of an irreproachable organization and to defend the reputation the country of «Diatiguiya», the country of hospitality.All care will be given to the organization of the 19th Congress of our Association, so that the delegates will have an unforget-table memory.
