• Study led across 46 countries representing 90% of world GDP.
• About half of all work activities globally have the potential of being automated by adapting currently demonstrated technologies.
• However, the proportion of work that will actually be displaced by 2030 should be much lower due to diverse barriers to adoption.
• By 2030, 75 to 375 million workers (3 - 14% of the global workforce) will need to switch occupational categories.
• As automation causes decline in some occupations, it will change many more – 60 % of occupations have at least 30% of constituent activities that could be automated.

• Even with automation, the demand for work and workers could increase as economies grow => Risk of job shortages in some advanced economies.
• NTICs shall create numerous new occupations that do not exist today …

• In a recent study, the EC estimated that 900 000 jobs requiring digital skills will remain vacant across Europe between 2017 and 2020.
• For new digital jobs to be created, new opportunities to be seized, key conditions are needed, notably
the development of training courses that allow the workforce to be updated/reskilled in due time…

A Profound Mismatch (1/2)
To date, education systems in neither developed nor emerging economies manage to keep up with the current pace of change.
In 2012, McKinsey Global Institute anticipated that by 2020 the world would have a surplus of 100 million workers with low qualifications while 40 million higher education graduates will be missing.
This challenge is growing as the pace of change is still accelerating, especially in the digital economy: with the development of Cloud solutions, AI and robotics, skills/jobs are continuously disappearing/emerging.
Not only jobs of the future are not easy to predict, but it seems that many wont last for very long, perhaps only for a few years.
A Profound Mismatch (2/2)
At the international level, moreover, the strange “apartheid” that has imposed barriers between academic and vocational studies has proven to be highly counter-productive.
Even when students have successfully achieved their higher education, they generally lack crucial competencies, notably the ability to apply their knowledge, and therefore are unable to accomplish their tasks.
This strong separation largely contributed to the deterioration of education systems across the world and to the profound mismatch between education and the world of work.

A new format for 21st-Century collaboration space was developed by the ASI and has been implemented in Moscow since 2014. In three years, more than 3,000 events were held at the Moscow Coworking Center, with the participation of more than 150,000 people. Following Moscow, 6 other “Boiling Points” have opened, notably in St. Petersburg, Ivanovo, Petrozavodsk, Novosibirsk and Vladivostock, and there should be 50 such hubs across the country by the end of 2018 according to Dmitry Peskov, head of the Young Professionals project of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, who says that the 'Boiling Point' is the best place to create projects that will change the world for the better. Such innovative spaces aim not only to train specialists, but to grow startups and new branches of the economy around themselves.

Infosys Corporate University – India Developing the right skill set for the work place
Infosys needs highly trained engineering graduates from all disciplines.
These graduates are not hard to find in India. What is hard to find among these young people is the right skill set, disposition and discipline to operate in the work place. Infosys’ training aims to bridge this gap, to develop the ability to apply knowledge, to assess and maintain quality standards, to be comfortable working in a multicultural environment…
For trainees, mornings are usually dedicated to learning new content while afternoons are about applied work – solving real-life challenges in group. This creates a very much needed direct linkage between ‘academic’ concepts and vocational/practical application.
Trainees attend classes between 8.00 am and 6.30 pm each day, then they voluntarily self-assess their understanding of the day’s content, before downloading and preparing content for the next day.

Category: Digital Skills for the Labour Force • Developing digital skills for the digital economy by creating courses to support upskilling and reskilling
workers, helping jobseekers, young without degrees…
Winner: Fit4Coding • Coding school run by a public-private partnership between NumericALL and the Ministry of Labour and
Employment of Luxemburg. It provides intensive training (3 months) to jobseekers so that they become web developers.
• 90 jobseekers have been successfully trained in 2016-2017

2014 : Les origines Une formation intensive au métier de développeur web
pour les jeunes peu ou pas diplômés
WebForce3 a été créé en 2014 avec pour objectif initial de permettre aux jeunes peu ou pas diplômés – les 18-25 ans décrocheurs et souvent demandeurs d’emploi – d’accéder rapidement à l’emploi comme développeur intégrateur web, métier du numérique particulièrement en tension avec 20.000 postes à pourvoir en France.
WebForce3 a conçu pour cela un modèle de formation innovante, en « blended-learning », c’est-à-dire alliant des cours intensifs en classe (35h/semaine durant 3,5 mois), délivrés par des professionnels expérimentés du web, et un accompagnement personnalisé en ligne via une plateforme LMS.
2015 : Les premiers succès Un modèle accessible à tous qui fait rapidement ses preuves en matière
d’employabilité
Ce modèle de formation intensive, très opérationnelle (90% de pratique, 10% de théorie) et axée sur l’emploi, a très rapidement séduit un public de demandeurs d’emploi beaucoup plus large que celui initialement ciblé – allant désormais de 18 à 60 ans, attirant aussi bien des ingénieurs informaticiens seniors et des techniciens réseaux que des comptables, spécialistes du marketing et de la communication, artisans, etc. – et s’étendant aussi à de nombreux professionnels indépendants souhaitant acquérir des compétences digitales de plus en plus essentielles dans leurs domaines d’activité (ex. : créateurs d’entreprises, graphistes…).
WebForce3 a par ailleurs su garantir un accès bien réel à l’emploi. En mars 2016, le taux de sortie positive de formation à 6 mois était de 90%, dont 40% en CDI et 20% en CDD, avec aussi 15% d’indépendants, 8% des alumni en stage et 7% en formation.
2016-2017 : L’essor du réseau Une trentaine d’établissements
2018 : Le perfectionnement du modèle… Diversification de l’offre, nouvelle plate-forme, etc.
Ouverture nouveaux parcours début 2018 pour se former à d’autres métiers émergents, comme celui de Concepteur intégrateur en cyber-sécurité.
Déploiement de la plateforme LMS : contenus pédagogiques adaptés aux nouveaux programmes – tutoriels, vidéo et cours conçus avec les meilleurs professionnels d’un secteur donné (ex. AFTI, CFA spécialiste de la cyber-sécurité ; STARTX, spécialiste de DevOps) – et nouvelles fonctionnalités centrées sur le soutien des apprenants durant leurs cours en classe (ex. : captation vidéo 4 caméras), ainsi que durant les mois suivants (ex. : La Pépinière Symfony) et in fine durant toute leur vie.
Création de solutions technologiques sur-mesure pour garantir la pertinence du suivi individuel : ancrage mémoriel, outils d’évaluation continue des (micro-)compétences des alumni, enrichissement de leur profil professionnel…
