Poterie Goicoechea was established in 1960 from the hand of Jean-Baptiste

Goicoechea. 50 years later, Poterie Goicoechea create and make models

from classical to contemporary style. The traditional know-how, passion and

quality are behind the family’s prestige.

Poterie Goicoechea’s workshops are situated in the village of Ossès, nestled

between the dramatic Pyrenees mountains and the green valleys of the Basque

Country.

L’art de travailler la terre se réinvénte chaque jour

dans les ateliers Goicoechea. Le sens du travail

bien fait, la rigueur et la patience ne seraient

rien sans une soif de créer, de découvrir et de

mettre au point de nouvelles manières de faire.

C’est de ce mouvement perpétuel que naissent les

formes, les couleurs et les finitions qui, pour certaines,

sont déjà devenues des grands classiques des

collections Goicoechea.

Le label «Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant» décerné

par le Ministère de l’Economie, des Finances et de

l’Industrie, temoigne de ce mariage réussi entre la

tradition artisanale et l’innovation permanente.

the patience would be nothing without the

desire to create, to discover and to refine

new techniques. It is from this perpetual

Si vous souhaitez conserver la couleur d’origine de la terre cuite et ne pas

avoir de patine, vous pouvez pulveriser un produit hydrofuge sur les parois

intérieures et extérieures du pot ainsi que sur sa base.

Ce produit est vendu en magasin de bricolage (exemple «Starbrite protecteur

pots en terre cuite»). Le séchage est quasi instantané et la couleur d’origine

est figée.

If you would prefer to preserve the original colour of the clay and avoid having a patine finish, the inside and outside of the pot can be coated with a

waterproofing product.

La terre cuite ne demande pas d’entretien

particulier. Elle se patine avec le temps et son

aspect évolue au fil des saisons en fonction de son

environnement.

Clay does not require any particular maintainance.

They will develop a patine over time depending on

the seasons and its immediate environment.

Les poteries émaillées doivent être protégées du gel. Sur

l’émail, il arrive parfois que les sels de la terre apparaissent

en surface sous l’aspect de petittes craquelures. Ce

phénomène est tout à fait naturel et normal. Vous pouvez

les atténuer en nettoyant les parois émaillées avec de l’eau

additionnée de vinaigre blanc.

Glazed pots should be protected from frost. Salts within

the clay can sometimes come to the surface and create a

crackled effect. These are totally normal and can be removed

by wiping with a solution of warm water and white vinegar.
