Innovation Union • l'innovazione è trainata sempre più da fattori non

tecnologici come creatività, design e nuovi processi organizzativi e modelli di business. Essa dipende in gran parte da ecosistemi creativi nei quali la qualità e la diversità delle interazioni tra settori e attori diversi è decisiva. L'esempio più ovvio è l'uso diffuso del design nell'industria manifatturiera, fonte di valore aggiunto per i prodotti, i servizi, i processi e le strutture del mercato. Le aziende i cui investimenti in progetti creativi raggiungono il doppio del valore medio hanno il 25% di probabilità in più di introdurre innovazioni nei prodotti. 7

18. Eco Innovation action plan

• Impegno n.18: Entro il 2011 la Commissione presenterà un piano d'azione per l'eco-innovazione basato sull'"Unione dell'innovazione" e incentrato essenzialmente sulle carenze, sulle sfide e sulle opportunità specifiche, al fine di contribuire agli obiettivi ambientali attraverso l'innovazione.

19. European Design Board • perseguendo un concetto ampio di innovazione che riguardi non solo gli

aspetti relativi alla ricerca, ma anche i modelli aziendali, il design, le strategie di marca ed i servizi che comportano un valore aggiunto per gli utenti, campi nei quali l'Europa dispone di talenti eccezionali. La creatività e la diversità della nostra popolazione ed i punti di forza delle industrie creative europe offrono enormi possibilità per generare nuova crescita e creare posti di lavoro mediante l'innovazione, soprattutto per le PMI;

• Impegno N.19. Nel 2011 la Commissione costituirà un consiglio direttivo europeo del design (European Design Leadership Board) che verrà invitato a formulare nel giro di un anno proposte miranti a rafforzare il ruolo del design, nel campo dell'innovazione, ad esempio per mezzo dei programmi UE e/o nazionali e del contrassegno "Design d'eccellenza europea". Nell'ambito delle attività intraprese per dar seguito al Libro verde sulle industrie culturali e creative la Commissione definirà un'Alleanza europea delle industrie creative per sviluppare nuove forme di sostegno per questi settori e promuovere un uso più ampio della creatività negli altri settori.

Tecnologie "ad alta intensità di conoscenza e associate ad elevata intensità di R & S, a cicli d'innovazione rapidi, a consistenti spese di investimento e a posti di lavoro altamente qualificati. Rendono possibile l'innovazione nei processi, nei beni e nei servizi in tutti i settori economici e hanno quindi rilevanza sistemica. Sono multidisciplinari, interessano tecnologie di diversi settori e tendono a convergere e a integrarsi. Innovation Action DESCRIPTION: Action primarily consisting of activities directly aiming at

producing plans and arrangements or designs for new, altered or improved products, processes or services. For this purpose they may include prototyping, testing, demonstrating, piloting, large-scale product validation and market replication. A ‘demonstration or pilot’ aims to validate the technical and economic viability of a new or improved technology, product, process, service or solution in an operational (or near to operational) environment, whether industrial or otherwise, involving where appropriate a larger scale prototype or demonstrator. A ‘market replication’ aims to support the first application/deployment in the market of an innovation that has already been demonstrated but not yet applied/deployed in the market due to market failures/barriers to uptake.
