Registration dayOnline registration via google form was started from 15/09/2021 and on 01/10/2021, counterof help desk for registration was set in the Campus. A telegram group named studentinduction programme was also generated for giving information to the students. 626 studentshad attended the student induction programme.

First day (04/10/2021)
Session-I
Students were introduced about D.S.W. board and its function by Prof. D. S. Bisht. ProfNeeta Bora Sharma introduced Proctorial board to the students.
The Inaugural Programme was started by National Anthem and University song. Lamplightening was done by Cheif guests Joint Magistrate, IAS, Sri Prateek Jain, SSP, Nainital,IPS Smt. Preeti Priyadarshini, CCF, Kumaun Dr. Tejaswini Patil, Registrar, KumaunUniversity, Mr. Dinesh Chandra and D.S.W. Prof D. S. Bisht. Prof D. S. Bisht welcomed allguests. Speech was delivered by CCF, Dr. Tejaswini Patil to motivate students.
Speech was delivered by IPS, Smt. Preeti Priyadarshini in which she motivated studentstowards positive attitude.
Speech was delivered by IAS, Mr. Prateek Jain to guide the youngsters.
Registrar, Kumaun University talked about the University.
Session-II
Prof H.C.S. Bisht, NCC Army Head and Examination Controller, Kumaun Universitymotivated and guided the students. Head and Convenor, Department of Chemistry, Prof. A.B. Melkani shared his experiences about the student life and introduced the Campus to thestudents and enlighten them.
Dr. Deepika Goswami introduced education system and importance of education to thestudents.
Session-III
Dr. Ashok Kumar interacted with students with various activities and introduced Departmentof Tourism and various courses offered by the University to students.
Dr. Penny Joshi introduced various Department of Science Maths group to students.
Dr. Anil Kumar Bisht introduced various Departments of Life sciences to students.
Session-IV
Dr. Lajja Bhatt introduced different Department of Arts to the students.
Dr. Nidhi Verma introduced Department of Commerce and Professional Courses offered bythe University to the students.
Mr. Abhishek Mehra interacted with students about the problems that students face inuniversity.

Second day (05/10/2021)Session-I
Second day (5 /10/2021) of Student Induction programme under UGC mandate Quality Cellstarted with welcome note by Dr. Geeta Tewari.
Speech was delivered by Director of SRICC Prof Lalit Tewari who introduced the details ofresearch cell to students. He motivated students by giving example of various Alumini ofKumaun University.
Later on, Prof. Chandrakala Rawat Head of Department of Hindi introduced InternalComplaint Committee, D. S. B. Campus, Nainital to the students.
Dean, Visual and Fine Arts, Prof. M. S. Mawri introduced the Department of Visual and FineArts and courses offered by the department.
Mr. Vikas Katyura, Alumini of Kumaun University who is presently an actor and director toldthe students that how we can develop self-employment.
Dr. Neelu Lodhiyal introduced "Unnat Bharat Abhiyan" to students that how is empowermentdone in rural areas and their scheme have adopted 5 villages for the development.
Session-II; Session-III; Session-IV
Various activities were conducted including Poem Recitation, Singing (vocal andinstrumentation), Essay Competition and Poster Competition. Dr. Deepakshi Joshi interactedwith students regarding Nukkad natak and various other activities.
Session-V
Students were distributed in Mentor Mentee groups. Results of Poem recitation and Vocalwere declared. In poem, Laxmi Koranga stood first, second was Shweta Chandela and Thirdwas Ayushi Pant. In vocal, Hardik Chaudhary stood first, second was Arhat Tewari and thirdwas Bhumika Joshi.
Third day (06/10/2021)Session-I; Session-II
Day 3 of Student induction programme under UGC mandate quality cell started withwelcome speech by Prof Lajja Bhatt, Prof Lalit Tewari and Dr. Geeta Tewari.
Dr. Santosh Kumar, Assistant professor of Physical Education and Assistant Warden ofKenfield Hostel introduced the facilities of Kenfield hostel. He delivered his speech onRequirement of Fitness for Holistic Health Requirement of Fitness for Holistic Health.
Later on, Director Campus, Prof. L.M. Joshi introduced the structure and management ofCampus. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. N.K Joshi was welcomed and honoured by bouquetand shawl and Gingko biloba plant.
Later on, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor addressed the students and motivated them to be goaloriented. He also told the students about the difference in School and Campus system.
Director, Innovation and Incubation Cell (IIC), Kumaun University, Nainital Dr. SushmaTamta introduced the objectives of IIC and prize was distributed to winners of Toycathon-2021 and winners of Second innovative business proposal competition 2021.
Session-III
Prof Chitra Pande delivered motivational speech on being extraordinary in our field.
Dean Science, Prof. S.C. Sati addressed the students to apply human values of life for beingsuccessful.
Session-IV
Elocution competition was conducted by Dr. Anil Kumar Bisht and Dr. Ashok Kumar ontopic Right to Education in India.
Kamakshi Joshi won the first prize, Vandna Gugtiyal was second and Megha Negi was third.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Lajja Bhatt and Dr. Geeta Tewari.

Fourth day (07/10/2021)Session-I
Fourth day (7 -Oct- 2021) of Student Induction Programme under UGC mandate cell startedwith welcome by Dr. Nidhi Verma. Chief guests Deputy Inspector General, Kumaun Range,Dr. Neelesh Anand Bharney, Civil Judge Mr. Imran, Station Officer Tallital Mr. RohitashSagar were present in the programme.
Dr. Jyoti Joshi from Department of Sociology was present in the programme to encouragestudents. She emphasised on being self-disciplined. She highlighted on self-evaluation.
Prof. Lalit Tewari, Abhishek Mehra and the team members present welcomed DIG, Dr.Neelesh Anand. He addressed the students. He emphasised on never giving up. He interactedwith students and resolves their queries regarding the field and carrier. He told students to bepatient and dedicated. He emphasised on developing communication skills.

Session-II
Dr. Seema Chauhan from Yoga Department had a session and various Yogasanas wereperformed by the students of Yoga Department. Two students namely Suhardika and Yashikafrom class 2nd and 7th also showed there talent in yoga.
Session-III
An awareness programme was conducted by District Legal Service Authority in which Mr.Mohit introduced its objectives. He informed that 13 categories are benefitted under thisscheme. Speech was delivered by S.O. Mr. Rohitash Sagar in which he spread awarenessabout crime, drug addiction and the laws and punishment under NDPS act.
Civil Judge, Mr. Imran shared his experiences based on real incidences that how people areinvolved in drug addiction. He spread legal awareness.
Session-IV
Extempore, debate and Nukkad Natak competitions were conducted. Extempore results wereannounced in which Vandana stood first, Mehak was second and Shalini stood third.
Thankyou speech was delivered by Dr. Deepakshi Joshi, Prof Lalit tewari, Dr. Nidhi Vermaand Dr. Geeta Tewari.

Fifth day (08/10/2021)Session-I
Fifth day (8-Oct-2021) of Student Induction programme started with welcome speech by Dr.Richa Ginwal.
Dr. Sushma Tamta, Director of KU-IIC delivered her speech and introduced the objectivesand aims of Kumaun University Innovation and Incubation Centre to the students. Sheemphasised on being innovative. She gave example of various succesful startups as Zomato,Ola, Houseitt, Clapbox and Saumya Pvt. Ltd.
Speech was delivered by Prof. Indu Pathak, Nodal officer of UGC Quality Mandate on howstudents will be benefitted from Deeksharambha programme. She quoted Dr. A.P.J AbdulKalam 's lines that one should dream big goals for being successful.
Prof Amit Joshi, Coordinator of Alumni Cell, Kumaun University introduced the studentsabout the cell.
Virtual tour of the University was presented by Dr. Ashok Kumar in which he introducedvarious Department, Offices and Hostels of the D. S. B. Nainital and Bhimtal Campuses ofthe University along with the administrative block of the University.
Dr. Nagendra Prasad Sharma, Sports Officer and Secretary Sports Council, introduced theimportance of sports as carrier.
Session-II
Dr. Vijay Kumar, Coordinator, NSS has given insight on the NSS programme of KumaunUniversity. Also emphasized on the importance of blood donation, plantation, cleanliness and
yoga in the human life. Cleanliness Drive and plantation was conducted in which studentswere taught for maintaining clean and green campus. Garbage was collected and dumpedfrom the surroundings of D. S. B. Campus.

Library tour was done for students.

Tug of war Game was conducted for students.

Sixth day (09/10/2021)Session-I
Sixth and the final day (09-Oct-2021) of Student Induction Programme under UGC MandateQuality Cell started with welcome speech by Dr. Geeta Tewari.
Dr. Himanshu Lohani, Assistant Professor of Zoology Department and Warden of K.P. hosteldelivered her speech. She shared her experiences and motivated students to never give up.She emphasised on time management. She told students that how students should gainknowledge from teachers to become a polished person. The hostel students shown the hostellife with a Nukkad natak.
Prof. Lata Pandey (HOD Department of Home Science and Team leader, Life Skillsemphasised on life skill development and its importance. She motivated students on beingperfect. She introduced various Life skills Cell under UGC quality mandate.
NCC ANO Officer Naval Wing and Deputy Controller of Examination Dr. Reetesh Sah,Department of History delivered speech on human values. He introduced NCC.
The President, Student union Mr. Vishal Verma also introduced the student union and theirwork to the students.
Chief guests in the Closing Ceremony were Director of Campus, Prof. L.M. Joshi, Dean,Faculty of Science and Head of Department of Botany, Prof S.C. Sati, Head of Department ofForestry, Prof. L.S. Lodhiyal. Guest were welcomed by shawl and Gingko biloba plant.
Feedback was given by the participant students (Ayushi Pant, BA; Vandana Ghugtiyal, B.Com.; Imrana Parvez, B. Sc.; Gaurav Tiwari, B. Sc., Aman Ahmad, BBA; Vansh Sah, B.Com.)
The prize distribution was done in the valedictory ceremony.
In Vocal, Hardik stood First, Arhat second and Bhumika was Third.
In Hindi Essay winner of First prize was Harish second was Shailja, third was NaveenChandra. In English Essay Jhanvi stood first, Mohit was second and third was Chirag.
In newspaper craft, Meenakshi and Kajal were First, Mehak and Bhumika were second.
Winners were awarded with certificates, momento and a plant.
Plants were sponsored by Prof. Lodhiyal under project of BSI and Ministry of Forest,Environment and Climate change.
Poster and Debate Prize was sponsored by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
Prize for Vocal was sponsored by Sudhir Jewellers.
Extempore, Nukkad Natak and Tug of War prize was sponsored by Campus Director.
Newspaper craft, Poem competition, Essay writing Hindi and Essay writing English, Speechcompetition, was sponsored by Dean.
