Le 2 février Mauro Bunino etMichele Giordanino ont égalé le record mondial de l’épreuve derelais séniors avec 58/60 et, deux semaines après, le 16, MassimoGriva et Marco Ziraldo ont réjoint le même score pour la même disci-pline en se plaçant à la même hauteur des Français Fabien Amar etFrédéric Poyet. Le 22 mars le Français Pierre Pontennier a égalé lerecord de tir de précision under 18 avec 34 points.

The Italian-French ChallengeAt the beginning of the year, two Italian pairs “shook” the lyonnaiseworld records. On 2 February, Mauro Bunino and MicheleGiordanino equalled the senior relay world record by scoring 58/60and, two weeks later, on 16 February, Massimo Griva and MarcoZiraldo scored the same result in the same discipline thus reachingFrench Fabien Amar and Frédéric Poyet. On 22 March, FrenchPierre Pontennier equalled the under 18 precision throw record with34 points.

Coupe d’Europe des clubs (féminine )Ljubljana, la capitale de la Slovénie, a accueilli la Coupe d’Europeféminine des clubs de boule lyonnaise. Une fois encore a monté surle podium l’équipe française de Pont de Claix qui a dépassé, dans lafinale, les Italiennes de la Fenice de Venice, avec le score de 14-2. Latroisième place a été gagnée par les Slovènes de Krim, suivies par lescroates de Pasac.Pour l’équipe française ont joué Bruniaux, ValerieMaugiron, Lienard, Jouve, Corine Maugiron, Chavagneux, Raveux,Anne Marie Maugiron et Gianone.

La CMSB en ChineLa visite du Président de la Confédération mondiale des sports deboules, Romolo Rizzoli, invité en Chine par les dirigeants gouverne-mentaux et les responsables de la Fédération de boules chinoise, a ététrès intense. A l’ordre du jour il y avait de nombreux sujets concer-nant les sports de boules ( avec toutes ses disciplines ), y comprisl’organisation du premier championnat mondial féminin unitaire (ensuite annulée à cause du très grave tremblement de terre qui a frap-pé le grand pays asiatique ). Trois médailles d’or à l’Italie, deux à la France et une à la Croatie ettrois nouveaux records mondiaux, tous établis par l’Italie: c’est ça lepalmarès des championnats mondiaux juniors disputés à Zagreb,capitale de la Croatie, où se sont défiés les jeunes lions de la spécia-lité lyonnaise. L’Italie s’est classée à la première place en individuelunder 18 (Luigi Grattapaglia), en tir progressif (Alessandro Longo )et en relais (Ferrero et Grosso) under 23. La France a gagné les dou-bles under 18 avec Pontonnier et Diana et le tir de précision under 23avec Roman Garcia; enfin, pour la Croatie, Marino Milicevic s’estclassé premier en combiné under 18. Les trois nouveaux championsdes records under 23, établis justement à Zagreb, sont Grosso (tir deprécision, 31), Longo (tir progressif, 45/48) et Ferrero-Grosso (relais,56/58).

Three gold medals to Italy, two to France and one to Croatia andthree new world records all established by Italy is the great resultreached during the World Junior Championship held in Zagreb, theCroatian capital, where the young “lions” competed in lyonnaise.Italy placed itself first in the under 18 single (Luigi Grattapaglia), inthe progressive throw (Alessandro Longo) and in the relay (Ferreroand Grosso) under 23 competitions. France won the under 18 double(Pontonnier and Diana) and the precision throw under 23 (RomanGarcia) competitions, whereas Croatian Marino Milicevic was firstin the combined under 18 discipline. The three new champions ofunder 23 records, established in Zagreb, are Grosso (precision throw,31), Longo (progressive throw, 45/48) and Ferrero-Grosso (relay,56/58).

L’ Italia si è classificata prima nell’ individuale under 18con Luigi Grattapaglia, nel tiro progressivo (Alessandro Longo) enella staffetta (Ferrero e Grosso) under 23. La Francia ha vinto lecoppie under 18 con Pontonnier-Diana e il tiro di precisione under 23con Roman Garcia mentre il croato Marino Milicevic è arrivatoprimo della specialità combinato under 18. Una medaglia d’oro è andata all’Italia (Nari e Pautassi nelle coppie), al monegasco Lotto nel combi-nato e, fatto eccezionale, il podio più alto del tiro di precisione se loè meritato il diciottenne belga Joris Gillet che ha così regalato al suopaese la prima medaglia d’oro della sua storia boccistica.

Championnat mondial de Pétanque, WorldWomen’s Petanque Championship, MondialePetanqueDakar – Senegal N’Diaye’s Record, Record di N’DiayeUn fois encore les très forts Français ont dominé le Championnat mondialséniors de pétanque qui s’est disputé dans le décor de Dakar, en Sénégal. L’ordes triples a été remporté par Thierry Grandet, Henry Lacroix, BrunoLeboursicaud et Philippe Suchaud (sur la photo) qui, dans la finale, ont vain-cu l’équipe thaïlandaise. Le titre de tir de précision a été gagné par le Maroc(Abdessamad El Mankari) , tandis que la médaille d’argent a été remportée parle Sénégal (François N’Diaye). Dans les phases éliminatoires N’Diaye a établile nouveau record mondial de 66 points.Once again France proved to be the strongest at the World Senior PetanqueChampionship, in the beautiful scenario of Dakar ( Senegal ). Le 25 octo-bre les Italiens Bunino et Giordanino ont amélioré le record en relaisséniors (points 59/60); le 1er novembre le Français Gérard Bailliez aétabli le nouveau sommet pour le tir de précision under 18 avec 36points ; le 8 novembre les Italiens Ferrero et Grosso ont répété leurrecord en relais under 23 (56/58); le 15 novembre le Slovène AlesBorcnik a battu le record de tir progressif under 23 avec le score de47/49 (pour la première fois la «domination» italo-française desrecords a été entamée); une semaine après, le 22 novembre, l’ItalienMauro Roggero a réjoint le Français avec le score de 47/48.In less than one month world records were established or equalled forfive times, in the different lyonnaise competitions. Aux deux jours de travail ont participé plusde 200 délégués de tous les continents. Le président de la CMSB,Romolo Rizzoli, a eu la chance d'échanger des impressions et descontacts avec de nombreux représentants des fédérations et des orga-nisations internationales.
