WHAT IS RIA ?

Rich Internet applications (RIAs) are web applications that have most of

the characteristics of desktop applications

Typically delivered by way of standards based web browser plug-ins orindependently via sandboxes or virtual machines ( Now part of browsers

with HTML 5).

Examples of RIA frameworks include

Curl, GWT, Adobe Flash/Adobe Flex/AIR, Java/Java FX, uniPaaS,

Mozilla's XUL and Microsoft Silverlight Popular plug-in based frameworks are

Learning Curve

Not everything in RIA is easy to learn. E.g. Data service in Flex i.e. LCDS(Live CycleData Services etc .) take a long learning curve.

These RIA Technologies take longer time to learn as compared to HTML or JavaScriptconcept but with tight OOP fundamental and right guidance, the path become easier .

Thats what we only rely on JAVA ,.NET centric products that are acquired by theseRIA Technologies and are heavily J2EE centric.

Adobe Flex ,Microsoft Silverlight and now AJAX are highly demanded technologies inthe market and can be easily implemented without prior experience.

Easy to learn because of the similar nature to JAVA/C# skills.

Easy to execute and develop and implement and administer applications.

Does not need industry background or functional experience. Not too many people are available in the market. Demand is high. Supply is low.

Customers are ignorant. Easy to get and crack interviews.

Easy to sustain on the project.
