Dear Mr Banescu,

I wish to thank you for your hospitality and would like to

take this opportunity to give you a few information about

the Rotary Clubs in Romania.

The Rotary Club of Bucharest was created in the spring of

1929.

After Bucharest, two more clubs were formed in Cluj and

Timisoara.

With nine clubs, in 1936 The Romanian District 84 was

created.

The effect of the Rotarian activity and actions began to be

noticed all over the country.

After a long pause, in 1992, with the support of the

French Rotarians, The Bucharest Rotary Club was re-

established.

Like the first time, it was followed by the Clubs of Cluj and

Timisoara, so that in June 1996, there were 13 clubs in

Romania as part of District 1160, based in Paris, France.

On 1 September 1999, when the International Rotary

Committee decided that in Romania and the Moldavian

Republic, the Rotary clubs will be part of their own

district, number 2241.

Today there are 90 Rotary clubs in Romania, gathering

some 2700 members.

Another interesting information is that the President of

the Executive Council of the Inter-Country Committees,

created in 1931 to favor international exchanges and

projects between Rotary Clubs of 56 different countries

across the Globe, is a Romanian citizen, Ovidiu COS,

member of the R.C. Alba Iulia in Romania.

There is presently 1 active ICP project between a Belgian

and a Romanian Club: this is the professors and PhD

students extensive exchange program between the

Gembloux Agronomic school of Liège University and the

veterinary school of Ion Ionescu Universty in Iași.

Our Host, Dragos Banescu, is the Head of Mission of the

Romanian Embassy

Mr Banescu is 47 years old, he graduated in

Management, with special emphasis on financial and tax

matters. He soon entered the Romanian administration

as financial adviser.

I was told that Brussels is his first foreign posting.

MrBanescu,once again, on behalf of the Rotary Club of

Brussels, I wish to thank you for your hospitality and

extend my gratitude to MrSima, commercial &

economical attaché of the Romanian Embassy.

embrace of the Carpathians, with their areas of true

wilderness, and the ever-fresh beauty of the Danube

Delta, as well as extensive plains scattered with little

natural and cultural treasures. People enrich this

natural treasure with unchanged traditions and a

warm and generous personality.

Our cultural sites, many UNESCO World Heritage

Sites, give evidence to a unique history, with a

heritage of Latin origin mixed with other great

cultures of the continent. The stories of these places

will surely fascinate you, and the deep spirituality of

Romanians will impress you too.

Let us be a guide to the historic regions of the

country, its unique places and traditions, about the

Romanian way of life, and the historical, and cultural

circumstance that made them possible.

Walk with us on the paths of the Carpathian

Mountains and enjoy the natural parks, which will

rouse you to adventure and activity- all the more so

as Romania is one of the most remarkable countries

in Europe in this respect. The Danube Delta is a

delightful, Moldavia and Bukovina’s monasteries

comfort your eyes and calm your soul. Murmurs

over-whelms you with its magnificent locations,

traditions and people. Banat and Oltenia’s caves and

rapids flush you with adrenaline, while the fortified

churches and strongholds in Transylvania take you

back to the Middle Ages giving you pleasurable chills

down your spine, and exceeding your imagination,

even if you’ve read huge volumes of their history.

Stop and pay attention to traditions and popular

fairs, spa resorts, cultural heritage from the great

cities and historical areas. You will be amazed by the

original and authentic destination so close at hand.

Jeunesse : Soutien pour la cour de récréation de l’école

Pupilles : Parrainage d’étudiants orphelins, méritants

quant à leurs études (secondaires et de 3ème cycle)

Actions et Relations internationales : Acheminement de

matériels médical au Maroc grâce au club féminin de

Tanger ; Action contre la Cataracte au Maroc ;

Participation à un projet d’adduction d’eau à Madagascar

pour le R7 et participation aux actions de la plateforme

Actions Internationales des clubs de Bruxelles.

Fondation Rotary : Bourse du District – Deux bourses

accordées cette année : Sarra Razzouk et Mathilde Van

Rossom.

YGDA 2019 Plastique et mon futur

Young Graphic Designers est un concours d’idées destiné à susciter la créativité des élèves de l’enseignement secondaire et artistique de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale (auparavant concours d’affiches), francophones et néerlandophones. Ce concours traite, chaque année d’un nouveau sujet de société. En cette année 2018-2019, il s’agit de « Plastique et mon futur ». Le support de travail est laissé à l’appréciation et à l’initiative du participant. Les jeunes peuvent choisir librement leur support : illustration, photographie etc..

Depuis 10 ans, les Rotary Clubs bruxellois proposent cet exercice difficile aux adolescents. Ils sont invités à adresser à d’autres jeunes un message en utilisant leur propre langage, en relation avec les valeurs fondamentales du Rotary : l’amitié, la solidarité et le respect.

LE PLASTIMOBILE

Bonjour messieurs,

Je me permets quelques échos concernant l’atelier

"Plastimobile" qui est venu début janvier au sein

de notre école lancer "officiellement" le concours

d'affiche à mes élèves… je vous joins quelques

photos…

Quelle actualité aussi : les manifs pour le climat

auxquelles participent mes élèves et moi-même…

Encore ce mercredi un article dans le journal Le

Soir sur un investissement de 60 millions d’euro

pour le recyclage du plastique

Les actions Delhaize qui demandent de ramener

leurs emballages plastiques…

J’ai de quoi motiver ma classe de 6° Pub !

On baigne dedans…

Les affiches s’élaborent… des pistes graphiques

apparaissent… suspens !!!
