La nouvelle édition des Serre Chevalier Snowkitemasters 2013 se déroulera du 5 au 11 janvier au col du Lautaret /Hautes Alpes / France

C’est le spot mythique reconnu mondiale-ment comme un des meilleurs endroits pour la pratique de notre discipline le Snowkite : Le Col du Lautaret c’est le Hawaii du Snow-kite.

Un snowkitePark sera réalisé à l’occasion des Championnat du monde Snowkite Freestyle.

Cette année nous attendons les meilleurs riders freestyle de la planète pour décerner le titre de champion de France et champion du monde à l’issue d’une semaine qui nous espérons sera riche en belles figures avec toujours plus d’enga-gement et de style.

Dès le samedi matin 8:30 nous accueille-rons les participants de la course appelée aussi « race »Un parcours tracé dans la montagne du Col du Lautaret avec un départ en ligne de 16 compétiteurs toutes les 5minutes et le meilleur temps consacrera le champion de France snowkite Race.

Pour gagner ce titre il faudra être un expert dans la lecture du terrain, du vent, être fin tacticien et bien entendu avoir une endurance hors normes.

Au programme toute la semaine, grillades, les initiations au snowkite avec Kite Le-gende, de la musique, des sourires... le tout dans une ambiance magique et unique au col du Lautaret.

Dés l’après-midi 17:00 tout le monde descend à Serre-Chevalier 1400 Villeneuve au Frog pub restaurant pour un après-ski convivial et musical avec nos partenaires. Cette année comme toutes les années pré-cédentes Le Frog vous propose chaque soir un excellent repas rapport qualité-prix et accueil.

À 100 m du Frog, la dream team du Chazelay ouvre ses portes dès 22:00 avec un programme dantesque :

7 concerts avec chaque soir un style différent qui comblera tous vos désirs.Rock ‘n’ roll, dance floor, reggae roots, elec-tro, Dub,Balkanique.Attendez-vous à des surprises!

We are pleased to present the ninth edition of the Serre-Chevalier SnowKiteMasters held in the Col du Lautaret in the French Alps.The best kiteboarding, the top riders in the world gather once again on the snow, wel-come to the SnowKiteMasters 2013.

Come meet the riders at the SKM event where you will get a chance to talk to them and see what snowkiting is all about. Everyone will be having fun and this is what the SKM is all about, share the experience and come watch the masters ride on the snow and push kiteboarding to the limit and beyond.Many events will be taking place, The French Championship Race will be held on the 5th to 6th of January and we will be running the «Freestyle World Championship» which will take place on the 7th to 11th of January 2013. The sport of freedom and excel-lence, snowkiting is practised in harmony with the mountains and nature, snowkiting is after all envi-ronmentally friendly!

The kite can tow a person up a mountain and it is all done eternally by renewable energy: wind power. Combined with the surface nature provides us like ter-rain from a mountain, wave or land we used it all to practice kiteboarding.

This teaches us to analyse the ele-ments and to enjoy and appreciating the environment. It’s more than a sport, snow-kiting is a state of mind and a way of life, we take advantage of the elements: air, snow and the majestic mountains.

Guisane Valley enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year boasting some of the most beau-

tiful views of the French Alps with some of the best conditions available for

snowkiting giving anyone a chance to snowkite no matter what your

level.

.A journey in to the mountains throughthe Lautaret, the starting line will have 16 com-petitors setting off every 5 minutes and whoever quality’s for the best time will take part in the champion of France Race.

To win the title there will be a best time ranking system in place,one must expertly read the terrain and wind choosing there path wisely, Its all about tactics and using the space wisely.

The SKM team will be present to over see the whole event and introduce you to the village. It will be conducted by Fuego with BBQ’s, music and a great chill out zone ... all in a magical and unique location in the Lautaret with a great view of all the action. If you want to discover Snowkiting there will be trained Instructors on hand from the Kite legend school and will be present every day at the SKM village to introduce you and teach you the joys and happiness

Hi!My name is Abe, I live in the UK in a town called Southamp-ton. I am the SuperKiteDay Team leader. We love to film and make videos about kiteboarding on Snow, Land and Water. I have been riding for about 5years now. During the summer I am a kitesurfing instructor, so I enjoy teaching people to Kiteboard, its the best feeling to see someone get up and on there board for the first time! In my spare time I go kitelandboarding. I live very close to some of the best spots.

Kiteboarding is to truly be free, nothing else matters in life when you are riding and having fun.

Lolo BSD à commencé le kite avec des Roller Tout Terrains (coyotes), en fait il trouvait super cool de pouvoir faire les même tricks qu’en roller agressif (rampe et street)mais avec un kite à 3-4 metres du sol.C’est le déclic,là il se rend compte du réel potentiel du kite!Rapidement le mountainboard freestyle devient une addic-tion pour ce prof de roller dans un skatepark à Paris et pro-ducteur/cameraman chez «BSD prod». Le Landkite ou kite sur terre: «En landkite je retrouve des sensations similaires au skate et au snowboard, avec un éventail de tricks beaucoup plus grand, je me met donc a faire des boards off dans tout les sens, cette sensation de liberté me procure l’adrénaline dont j’ai besoin!»En 2009 Lolo se me met au kitesurf, toujours adepte du freestyle, il découvre le bonheur du kite sur l’eau! Le Kitesurf ou kite sur l’eau: «La pureté de la glisse, l’immensité de la mer et de l’océan, la beautée des spots...le kitesurf est vraiment magique, j’adore ça» 

When I saw snowkiting for the first time I knew that this was something I must do. The people I met at the SnowKiteMasters have changed my life and showed me another way of life, now I go every year to film and ride with my hero’s that inspired me.I see a bright future for Kiteboar-ding and it’s my mission to docu-ment this cool sport and share it with others like others did for me.I have many more trips, events and projects planed for the year. Italy and Canada are on the top of my list. But what ever I’m doing I know I will be riding. I have been so lucky to ride some great spots since I started Kiteboarding, especially back in the UK we get some awe-some winds on the south coast, I live very close to the sea so I can always ride on the land or the water and in the winter I go snowkting.

Ton aventure avec Abe ?«En automne 2010 je pars faire un trip en Angleterre, le pays du LandKite, où j’y rencontre Abe et Chris de la SKD team .Très vite nous prenons tous du niveau, produisons de belles videos avec de nouveaux angles de vues, la SKD team commence à prendre une place importante dans le LandKite, une belle histoire com-mence!En Janvier 2011 c’est mon premier vrai trip snowkite, sur un super spot au Col du Lautaret avec la SKD team.»Le Snowkite ou kite sur neige: «Le SnowKite est LA discipline par excellence pour moi, car c’est un mix entre le KiteSurf et le LandKite, j’y retrouve les sensa-tions de glisse que j’ai sur l’eau tout en restant en mode terrestre à exploiter le relief qu’offre la montagne!Le SnowKite est juste le summum du kite.Tout est sur-dimensioné dans ce sport, la vitesse, l’amplitude des sauts...Se retrouver dans ces grandes montagnes toutes blanches sous le ciel bleu, respirer l’air pur et frais, faire voler son aile dans ce décor, exploiter le relief, pouvoir se déplacer librement grâce au vent, c’est juste fantastique!

My thinking about kitesurfing There’s no other sport that allows you to get as much air and learn tricks as fast. Kitesurfing takes the best of windsurfing, wakeboarding and snow-boarding and combines it into one sick sport. There’s no other feeling like being powered by the wind while riding on the water or on the snow. It is a sport which is becoming an idol.

le chronométreur, le speaker, ceci afin que la compétition se déroule pour le mieux pour les riders !Le Jugement?En ce qui concerne le Freestyle les coureurs sont jugés par 3 juges Interna-tionaux de nationalité différente. On juge pendant 7 minutes de course, sont pris en compte : le style, la technique, la puissance, fluidité et la varié-té. Donc la variété c'est au niveau des manœuvres proposées mais aussi la variété du SnowParck utilisé.

Le niveau technique est devenu très élevé ces dernières années et n’a rien à envier au Kitesurf. Nous retrouvons les mêmes difficultés tech-niques mais dans un style plus fluide que sur l’eau : KGB, Kiteloop Handle-pass, Slim Chance …Mais pour beaucoup de personnes le Snowkite reste un sport différent de celui pratiqué sur l’eau de part sa mentalité (montagnarde et conviviale) mais surtout par le terrain de jeu accidenté mis à la disposition des cou-reurs.

• Le Snowkite, un sport d’avenir?Je pense bien sûr que le Snowkite est un sport d’avenir. En France sous l’im-pulsion de nombreux club, il y a de plus en plus d’espace réservé à ce sport.

En fait les personnes ayant un petit niveau de ski et de snowboard peuvent y trouver leur plaisir mais le Snowkite reste quand même un sport extrême dans un milieu emblématique, la Montagne Je conseille donc de passer par une école et de pratiquer sur un spot reconnu pour la pratique du Snow-kite. Si l’envie vous pousse à aller découvrir de nouveau spot les règles sont identiques à la pratique du ski et du snowboard en haute montagne :Arva, pelle, sonde….sans oublier le check des conditions climatiques et du man-teau neigeux

I wouldn’t get anything so I was buisy stuffing myself full with sandwiches and washing it down with Champagne All of a sudden I heard someone say something in French and my name being called out and people start to push me up towards the podium. The organisers said something in French again and to my huge surprise I get this awsome trophy cup (with unknown writing aiain in French ) and I’m being told that I just got the Snowkite-Master Trophy!!!!! Imagine my surprise!!! Up to this day I have no clue what’s written on that cup

Le Snowkite par Ride UPDepuis plus de 10 ans, une bande de passionnés de poudreuse et d’espaces vierges chevauche les montagnes au gré du vent. Souvent les randonneurs à ski ont  la sur-prise de se  faire doubler par  ces skieurs ailés,  une, voire    deux à dix fois durant leur ascension.C’est en tout premier lieu un moyen révolutionnaire pour parcourir la montagne, une nouvelle façon de randonner, un remonte- pente personnel qui fonctionne à la force du vent. Les sensations en montée sont totalement nouvelles et les dénivelés parcourus incroyables !! En 10 mn vous pouvez atteindre le sommet.!Il ne vous reste plus qu’à  profiter d’un immense moment de bonheur , puis à plier votre voile et vous offrir une  descente  de rêve en ski...

Qualités : Malgré mon mauvais caractère, une certaine to-lérance, indispensable dans la vie pour ne pas se prendre la tête inutilement.Défauts : Un peu « ours » mais j’me détends !Tricks: Le Berti double vrille grabzitoo ! C’est pas facile...

Parcours:«J’ai eu un Kodak instinmatic 25 à l’âge de 7 ans puis rapi-dement un labo N/B. Mes premières photos c’était style reportage avec les potes.Puis à 18 ans je devais m’orienter vers un métier et en pro-cédant par élimination, il n’y avait que photographe qui m’attirait. J’ai donc fait une école de photo à Lyon, l’EFET.

Ma première parution presse date de 1977 dans le Dau-phiné Libéré avec une photo de ski sur herbe, rien de bou-leversant mais j’étais content ! Après mon école de photo, j’ai fait plusieurs années de photo-filmage aux 2 Alpes, à Chamonix et Serre-Chevalier, puis je me suis posé à La Grave l’hiver 1988 comme photo-graphe mais avant tout pour glisser. J’ai publié pas mal de photos de glisse à La Grave a ce moment.

Ta première expérience en Snowkite ? En 1997 avec Pascal et Cédric Joubert dans la plaine du Casset, ce fut un grand moment ; on flippait de s’envoler ! Les djoub’s avaient des Advance 7m et moi une 5m CQuad double turbo de Peter Lynn ; la crise de rire quand on a reçu le colis de ma voile : une roue de vélo jaune fluo ! N’y connaissant rien au kite, on a tout découvert de se sport par nous même ; les conneries ont les a toutes faites. Mais on a flashé direct tout les 3 pour le snowkite.

Les secrets pour vivre de ses photos? Etre passionné et comme dans tous les métiers…travailler ! S’efforcer de bien analyser la demande, faire du bon bou-lot, se spécialiser. Ne pas oublier que la prise de vue n’est qu’une petite partie de ce métier ; il ne faut pas négliger le coté commercial pas toujours plaisant mais incontournable si on veut vivre de ses photos...

Quels sont les critères d’une belle photo? C’est celle qui accroche direct l’œil, sans que l’on sache d’ail-leurs tout de suite vraiment pourquoi  ; un bon sujet, une bonne composition de l’image, une bonne lumière, la mai-trise de la technique photo.

Au final préfères tu voyager en tant que touriste ou en tant que reporter?  Pourquoi, Je préfère voyager comme reporter car ça donne un but a ton voyage et de toute façon comme je fais tou-jours des photos en voyage, autant que ce soit pour bos-ser...je me balade pour faire ce que j’aime (des photos et des voyages) et suis payé, c’est nickel !Quelles qualités doit on avoir pour partir en voyage avec Mr Boone? Ouverture d’esprit et adaptabilité...parce que je n’aime pas les gens bornés et obtus a l’esprit fran-chouillard qui voudraient que tout les « étrangers » vivent comme eux.Et il vaut mieux ne pas aimer les voyages organisés car il y a souvent une grande part d’improvisation dans nos trips ! Très peu de temps de préparation, on prend en géné-ral le billet d’avion au dernier moment et c’est parti pour l’aventure : on ne sait jamais trop ou l’on va et laissons une grande place a l’improvisationY’a t’il beaucoup de risques...as tu eu de grosses frayeurs? Pas de risques, total contrôle, que se soit au milieu des mines de Bosnie, dans les bas-fonds de Beyrouth ou sur les pentes en fusion de l’Etna en éruption, on assure !

On a desert island do you take your camera? Non, car il n’y aura per-sonne pour regarder les photos…No, because there will be nobody to look at the pictures ...

Argentique ou numérique?C’est tellement plus facile pour faire circuler ses photos  en numérique; quelques clics suffisent pour envoyer les images aux 4 coins du monde.Mais je passe maintenant beaucoup plus de temps en postproduction avec le numérique: des heures et des heures d’ordi.Parfois je regrette un peu l’argentique qui est a la photo ce qu’est le vinyle pour la musique ; il y avait un certain charme, on prenait plus de temps. Maintenant c’est consommation à outrance d’images et de sons sans toujours prendre le temps d’apprécier.Digital or silver?is so much easier to circulate digital photos; with a few clicks I can send images to the four corners of the world.But I now spends a lot more time in digital postproduction: hours and hours of computer.Sometimes I regret a little silver is a photo vinyl what the music and there was a certain charm, it took longer.

Now it’s excessive consumption of images and sounds do not always take the time to appreciate.

Sow when I stared kiting it was natural to start snow kiting. I star-ted 10 years ago in Norway  in the mountains in Hemsedal.  Better SKM memorie :The best is all the nice days in cool. Its a beautiful  place with the most amazing mountains. Also to meet all the people its really niceProjects :My dream is to  start a small clothing brand. I hope this will be reality *one day....

WONDER KARI  I am Kari  Schibevaag a kitesurfer from beautiful Norway . I have always loved to do sport and I started with 4 years old compe-ting in skiing. After this I tried handball, Football, Swimming, Volleyball to mention some before I got in to kiting.  In kite I have also tried all the disciplines.  freestyle, race and waves in the water and also race and freestyle in the snow. I love the winter and the summer sow a year is not complete before I hade the 2 seasons.   I am travelling all year around to beauti-ful places around the world. Doing camps, training, competing and only having fun with friends.  I love my life and I would never change it.  For sure sometimes when I am out there it’s hard to be alone and not see my family. But this just tell me that when I am ready to stop kiting I want to settle down home in Norway.  Mountains or water. I love it booth and if you ask me what I prefer its hard for me to answer.  I feel like its 2 different sports and I am happy that I can do booth.  To kite up the mountains with sun and butiful wiev is amazing., and to skii down in powder is even better.  But also to be on a beach with crystal clear water and nice waves

 Experiences This year I did an amazing trip up north in Norway. It was the best trip of my life and I hope that I can go up there and continue this nice trip.  Just snow kiting and kite-surfing in Cold Norway in the winter, but it was the best time of my life. I also want to do many more camp around the world, compete in the snow and waves and make some trips just to experience good conditions.  I have also started a new web shop www.schibevaag.com I am now selling beanies*. They are  reversible Schibevaag Beanies that comes  in different colors . I love to design and make stuff sow this has been a dream since I was a little girl. Finally I am doing something with this dream. I have in total 7 world titles in the snow and water and for sure I am aiming for more.  I love to compete and I love to be in the competitions. It was better before when you had all the disciplines in one tour and you could do all. Now you have to find out what you want becours its hard to do more then one discipline in the water.  I am doing waves but I have to say it was more fun before when we hade all the riders together.  Lets see what competions I will do next year.

SKM The best event of the yearI have been doing the Snow Kite Masters for many years and I am always coming back. This is because it’s the best event of the year. I love the place, the people, the mountain, and the atmosphere there. I am getting older but I think you guys will have to handle me for some more years.
