Method of Selection : The test sample was selected randomly out of Five tractors from the production line by the representative of testing authority.
1. SCOPE OF TEST
The tractor model “Swaraj 834 XM” had undergone Commercial
(Variant) test vide test report number T- 682/1188/2009, released in July, 2009 derived from
the base model “Swaraj 834 FE” bearing test report number No. T-505/987, released on
October, 2004. Now the applicant vide letter No. Nil, No. 20/1804037 has declared that the
base model ““Swaraj 834 FE” is not in production and submitted the last chassis cut off
number as “QUTL22705012525”.
The firm has requested vide letter No. no. 20/1603089 to consider “Swaraj 834 XM”
tractor declared as a base model bearing test report no T- 682/1188/2009, released in July,
2009 & made some changes in the technical specification of tractor such as Engine Model ,Oil
immersed disc brake, Power steering & Type of PTO shaft are permanently incorporated.
The applicant informed that the last chassis cut off number and engine serial number of
tractor model “Swaraj 834 XM” and engine model number “RV30TRXM” generated on
production line is “WVTM24405041935” and “33.1008/SUM04198” respectively.
The major differences of Previous Sample and Present Sample are listed below:

6.1.9 Salient Observations:
6.1.9.1 Laboratory tests:
6.1.9.1.1 PTO Performance:
i) The maximum power in case of previous & present sample were observed as
21.6 & 21.5 kW against the declaration of 20.5 & 20.5 kW respectively, which meets the requirement of IS: 12207-2019 with regard to tolerance limit.
ii) The specific fuel consumption corresponding to maximum power in case of
previous & present sample was recorded as 246 & 250 g/kWh against the
declaration of 265 g/kWh, which meets the requirement of IS: 12207-2019 with regard to tolerance limit.

iii) The maximum equivalent crankshaft torque was recorded as 137.1 N-m
against the declaration of 150 N-m, which is not within the permissible limit as specified in IS: 12207-2019. This should be looked into for necessary corrective action.
iv) The backup torque is 20.3 %.
v) The drop of 7.0 % in max. PTO power was observed during natural & high ambient conditions. This should be looked into for necessary corrective action.
vi) After completion of PTO performance test transmission oil leakage was observed from the end of PTO shaft oil seal. This should be looked into for necessary corrective action.
6.1.9.2 Three point linkage:
i) The dimension of lateral distance from lower hitch point to centre line of tractor does not meet the requirement of IS: 4468 (Part I) – 1997. This is recommended to looked into for necessary corrective action.
6.2 Maintenance / Service Problems:
No noticeable maintenance or service problem was observed during the test.
6.3 Recommendation with regard to safety on tractor:
The following requirements, inter alia, may be considered for incorporation on the tractor:
i) There should be provision for spark arresting device in exhaust system.
ii) The working clearance between the draft control lever and position control lever should be provided as per IS: 12239 (Part-2) – 1999.
iii) Fuel shut-off knob should remain in “STOP” position
iv) PTO master shield may be provided
