May I Present...My Cover LetterHola!

My name is Kristen Cavanaugh. I’m very excited to speak with you regarding this role.

I am confident that my previous success as a social media manager, account manager, digital media manager and copywriter as well as my strong communication and collaboration skills, make me an ideal candidate for the position.

I have nine years of experience in social media management, copywriting and account management. I know what it takes to manage an effective social media campaign from start to finish -- brainstorming, strategy, management, analytics, reporting. I have expanded and/or developed social media presences for over one dozen brands, projects and individuals.I am currently working to create a brand image for a well-known celebrity as I manage every aspect of her social media presence. Through a combination of creative social media marketing strategies and thorough monitoring of success through media analytics, KPIs, and dashboards, I can assure your company a similar rate of success.

In my career, I have served as management for a team of up to 10, including associates, community managers and interns. I maintained regular, open communication with the entire social/digital team, holding daily catch-up meetings in which I presented clients updates and sought analysis and feedback from the entire team.

I am confident that my experience as well as my ability to collaborate and communicate, make me a strong candidate for your company. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Social Strategy Example Shown: “If

I Stay” Feature Film Messaging: Book Quote Graphics

In this initiative, we will utilize some of the more meaningful and relevant quotes from the book and create graphics. We will either use screengrabs from the movie itself (if available) or other appropriate background images (ex. plain pink background), insert the quote and title treatment.

Sample quotes include:“If I stay, if I leave, it’s up to me...”“I realize now that dying is easy. Living is hard.” UGC: Air Instrument Activation

In this initiative, we will have users create content in which they download a pre-selected song from the movie soundtrack and play the air instrument of their choice. Users will share the content via Instagram and/or Twitter and utilize a specific hashtag. Users will be given a specific period of time to upload their video in order to be a part of the “If I Stay Air Instrument Remix” in which the videos are edited and put into one music video which will be shared through If I Stay’s social channels.

In-World, Tumblr: Music Playing

In this initiative, we will select a playlist of songs to go along with the overall developed theme of the movie’s Tumblr page that will stream when a user is experiencing the page. Depending on the direction of the page’s theme, these playlists could include songs from the movie, beautiful cello pieces, Mia’s favorite songs, etc.

UGC: Book/Movie Quotes + Facebook Cover Photo

In this initiative, we recommend creating an app that allows users to mix and match from a choice of pre-selected images and quotes to put together a custom

Facebook cover photo. Once their choice of background and quote are selected, the title treatment will be added and users can upload it as their cover photo.

Talent & Marketing: Music Quiz

In this initiative, users will take a quiz and answer questions about various topics in their lives. The quiz will be visual -- they will be instructed to choose which image best represents their answer to the question. From there, they will be told which character from the movie they are, and song selections that they would enjoy (these song selections can link to the movie’s soundtrack on Spotify or to the iTunes download page to purchase the song). Users will then have the choice to share their quiz results on Facebook or Twitter.

In-World: Mia Hall, Twitter 1st-Person

In this initiative, we will create a Twitter account for Mia Hall. We will use this account to push out tweets from Mia in first-person. These can be: thoughts directly from the book, quotes she might enjoy, images she might enjoy, RTs, etc. The link in the bio will be the link to the movie’s Tumblr page. We could also create a Q&A initiative to go along with this in which users can @reply Mia with their questions about her life.

Editorial WritingWarped 2009 – Get to Know the Band: Escape the FateJune 23, 2009 By Kristen Cavanaugh

Since I first heard Escape the Fate’s debut EP in 2006, I’ve been a fan. Initially, I can attribute this to the fact that I’m a huge Motley Crue junkie. Now, I’m not saying that Escape the Fate is the reincarnation of the Crue, but let’s face it, among all the pop-punk and straight-edge bands on the scene, Escape the Fate is, at the very least, the Motley Crue of Warped Tour. Think about it. Both of the original lead singers have done jail time. Both bands have parted ways with their lead singer (at least temporarily). Both bands have a shy, quiet, soft-spoken, but shredding guitarist. Sure, these are trivial comparisons, but an article published in Kerrang! really shows similar lifestyles. I don’t know how much truth there is to this article, but for the sake of rock n’ roll, I’m going to go with it. I was born a decade too late for the domination of Motley Crue so I take what I can get. And I’m taking Escape the Fate.

Escape the Fate formed in Las Vegas back in 2004 and released their debut EP There’s No Sympathy for the Dead in May of 2006. Four months later, their first full-length album, Dying is Your Latest Fashion was released. Dying is Your Latest Fashion was the only full-length album released by Escape the Fate with their then lead singer, Ronnie Radke. In 2008, Radke was replaced by former Blessthefall vocalist, Craig Mabbitt and the band released their second album, This War is Ours in October of the same year.

I’m not going to get into the politics of why Ronnie Radke is no longer in the band or which singer is better. Bottom line is, if you like Ronnie, keep listeningto Dying is Your Latest Fashion and check out his new band, Falling in Reverse (formerly From Behind These Walls). If you like Craig, listen to This War IsOurs or some old school Blessthefall. And hey, you could even check out some older tracks by Craig’s side project, The Word Alive (now fronted byformer Greeley Estates member, Telle Smith). It’s not that hard, guys. You don’t have to turn this into an epic Team Ronnie vs. Team Craig situation like Twilight. (Team Edward, by the way...)

After completing a series of sold out headlining shows, these guys are going to be on Warped Tour all summer. YOU NEED TO CHECK THEM OUT. In my opinion, a lot of bands on Warped Tour are very “edited.”•For example, maybe the band can kind of sing and play their instruments, but with the help of studio technology, they can sound amazing ““ until you see them live and just pray they’ll hit at least one note in their set. Escape the Fate is as far from an “edited”•band as they get. These guys know what they’re doing and I’m pretty sure Craig Mabbitt is one of the best live performers on the scene today. These boys will put on one of the most explosive live shows you’ll see on Warped Tour this summer -- possibly ever. Don’t miss them.
