BIOBU [ by EKOBO ] tableware offers the same practicality as plastic or melamine dishware but it’s safe for your health and better for the environment. It is convenient for everyday use, suitable for hot or cold foods, and is dishwasher safe. This natural composite is made from renewable bamboo fibre which is reduced to powder, then mixed with plant cellulose. There is no color transfer as water-based pigments are in the mass of the composite.

BIOBU [ by EKOBO ] bietet alle Vorteile, die auch Geschirr auf Erdöl-Basis hat, dabei ist es aber sicher für Ihre Gesundheit und besser für die Umwelt. Es ist praktisch im täglichen Gebrauch, geeignet für heiße und kalte Speisen und Getränke, und es ist spülmaschinengeeignet. Der natürliche Werkstoff besteht aus erneuerbaren Bambusfasern, die zu Pulver verarbeitet und dann mit pflanzlicher Cellulose verbunden werden. Die haltbaren Farben verblassen nicht, weil die Farbpigmente im Werkstoff verarbeitet sind.

La vaisselle BIOBU [ by EKOBO ] cumule les avantages du plastique ou de la mélamine, mais sans danger pour la santé et l’environnement. Elle est destinée à une utilisation quotidienne, pour des aliments chauds ou froids, et passe au lave-vaisselle. A travers la gamme Biobu, Ekobo explore aussi une nouvelle matière, fabriquée à partir de chutes de bambou récupérées. Celles-ci sont ensuite broyées puis réduites en poudre, avant d’être mélangées à une cellulose végétale. Les coloris resistent dans le temps car les pigments sont teintés dans la masse du composite.

BRUNO LOUIS_ FOUNDER, CEO

Graduate of HEC (Hautes Etudes Commercial-es) and a Masters Degree from the LSE (London School of Economics), Bruno worked several years in marketing for large brands such as L’Oréal be-fore deciding he needed to reflect and realign his values. He then began a 2-year journey that took him from Central America to Asia. This jouney was the seed that became EKOBO.

In 2000, Bruno returned to Paris with a suitcase full of ideas and ideals. His plan was to create an ecologi-cal and ethical range of home deco products in bam-boo, a fast-growing, renewable plant.

Bruno refined the concept and launched Ekobo in 2003. With the help of designer, Boo Louis (Bruno’s wife), and guest designers, they have developed a range of over 500 references.

Diplomé d’HEC et de la London School of Economis, Bruno a travaillé plusieurs années au service mar-keting de grands groupes, tel que l’Oréal, avant de décider de se ressourcer et se recentrer sur ses valeurs. Il entame alors un long périple qui le mènera d’Amérique Centrale en Asie, à la rencontre des autres, et c’est ce voyage initiatique qui donnera naissance 2 ans plus tard à EKOBO.

En 2002, il revient à Paris plein d’idées et d’idéaux et prêt à mettre en oeuvre son nouveau projet : créer une ligne d’accessoires design pour la maison, écologique et éthique, à partir d’une une matière renouvelable par excellence, le bambou.

Ainsi nait en 2003 EKOBO, une ligne de produits 100% écologique - 100% design. Quelques années plus tard, ce sont plus de 500 références de produits qui ont été crées, en collaboration avec sa femme, Boo Louis, et d’autres designers.

Als Absolvent der HEC (Hautes Etudes Commer-ciales) und Master an der LSE (London School of Economics), arbeitete Bruno mehrere Jahre im Marketing großer Labels wie L’Oréal, bevor er sich entschied, darüber nachzudenken und seine Wertvorstellungen neu zu definieren. Er begann eine 2-jährige Reise, die ihn von Mittelamerika nach Asien führte. Diese Reise war der zündende Funken und Ursprung von Ekobo.

Im Jahr 2000 kam Bruno zurück nach Paris, mit einem Koffer voller Ideen und neuen Idealen. Sein Plan war es, eine ökologische und ethisch verant-wortungsvolle Kollektion von Dekoobjekten aus Bambus, einer schnell nachwachsenden und erneuerbaren Pflanze, zu kreieren.

Bruno verfeinerte sein Konzept weiter und startete 2003 mit Ekobo, der Marke für design-orientierte und zu 100% aus Bambus bestehende Deko-Objekte. Mit der Design-Unterstützung von Boo Louis (Bruno’s Frau), und weiteren Design-partnern entwickelten sie ein Sortiment mit mehr als 500 Artikeln.

BOO LOUIS_ CREATIVE DIRECTOR/DESIGNER

Raised in Arizona, Boo was formally trained as a Graphic Designer at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco. During a design project in France, she discovered Paris…and Bruno, the founder of the brand.

Boo continually evolves the EKOBO and BIOBU [ by EKOBO ] ranges with the vision that today’s actions and design choices will make an imact on tomorrow. While championing the use of renewable materials, she attempts to design products that make a statement in our modern world -- beautiful, safe, thoughtful and sustainable.

D’origine américaine, Boo a reçu sa formation de designer graphique au «California College of the Arts» de San Francisco.

Elle développe les gammes EKOBO HANDMADE et BIOBU [by EKOBO] en associant les matériaux re-nouvelables à un style résolument contemporain. Particulièrement sensible aux conséquences envi-ronnementales de chacune de ses actions et de ses choix éthiques au cours du processus de création, Boo aspire à dessiner de beaux objets, utiles et sur-tout durables.

Die gebürtige Amerikanerin wurde am California College of the Arts zur Grafikdesignerin ausgebil-det. Während eines Designprojekts in Frankreich entdeckte sie Paris…und Bruno, den Gründer der Marke.

Boo entwickelt die Marken EKOBO und BIOBU by EKOBO kontinuierlich weiter, indem sie westliche Trends aufgreift und sie mit fernöstlichen Mate-rialien und Know-How verbindet. Im Bewusstsein über die Auswirkungen ihrer Taten und täglichen Entscheidungen auf unseren Planeten, versucht sie Designprodukte zu kreieren, die komplett durchdacht sind - schön, platzsparend, universell und nachhaltig.
